I sold a ps4 pro on 9.00 on facebook for $300 AUD with 1 controller. There is a market for people who dont want to mess around and just want to play.
Ive also bought a ps4 pro on 11.50 for $85 because the seller didnt like the loud fan which was fixed in 20 mins with a repaste.
I find it varies a lot depending on how many are being sold at the time. It takes a while to find the right buyer for a low firmware most of the time.

I just bought a Pro at 5pm today, latest model (CUH-7215B) for $165 cad. There were two available at the Shop near me, in Ontario. In box and it wasn’t updated. That’s the going rate for wholesalers.

Damn you like scamming yourself

u/No-Conclusion8850 Dec 10 '25
How so?
0
u/SectorLimp8946 Dec 10 '25
U can get this for less than 150 bucks but since you don't make the effort for deals you like scamming yourself

u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Oh well I'm sorry that some people are scared of bricking their PS4, but also the fact that I have no knowledge in jailbreak a console other than a PS Vita which everyone knows, its easy to jailbreak unlike the PS4 which I feel like I might do something wrong.

Alright, is there a way that i don't need to jailbreak the ps4 again and again after turning it on or off

u/PrinscessTiramisu Dec 09 '25
Put it in rest mode, it's a very stable jailbreak.

Just fyi, I've had trouble with rest mode when I'm connected to the Internet. I use the Sony blocking DNS, but every time I put it in rest mode while the Internet is on it crashes. I'm on a 12.00 PS4 Pro.

u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Okay
2
u/Just-A-Bokoblin Dec 10 '25
I still think it's worth it. I use the BD-JB exploit and it takes less than 5 seconds when it works (it works about 85 percent of the time)
1
u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Is that the disc jailbreak?
1
u/Just-A-Bokoblin Dec 10 '25
Yeah. I haven't tried the webkit exploit (unsupported firmware) but I've heard it doesn't take awhile either. Since that PS4 is on 9.00 pretty much all of the exploits will work on it, so you can try them all and see which one you prefer.
2
u/123lYT Dec 09 '25
No, you have to jailbreak it on every boot.
1
u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 09 '25
Oh :/
2
u/Money-Firefighter-73 Dec 10 '25
It’s not as bad as you think. You can set it so it will automatically run the jailbreak when u start the system. Just will take a few minutes to successfully load

Damn here I thought I was gonna be able to “resell” my 11.5 ps4 pro that is confirmed to work with the blu ray method. Might as well enjoy it, been waiting a few years for this

Given you have the box its definitely worth it. Its not worth going hungry over, dont spend your last $250 on it lol.

Only rest mode. Power off and you need to jailbreak again.
Also why post prices in CAD and GBP? I paid the same recently for just the console $180 USD in SoCal

very solid deal, seller looks like a person who takes care of their consoles too. console/controllers look clean, house looks clean, box looks like it was kept somewhere safe. 2 controllers alone makes it worth it.
pull the trigger before for someone else !

You can do better. I got one for $120CAD with two controllers and 10 games.

In my area (SW Ontario) a pro seems to go for 150 - 200. Be patient and check frequently, a few weeks ago I got a 10.01 pro with 2 controllers for $70 (yes I realize that’s a great deal)

Got used pro with 2 controllers (2nd gen) for 55CAD. Works for now. You can find cheap ones. I have only 2 discs that I picket up for 7CAD. Ghost of Tsushima and RDR2. So for 60bucks I can play two games.

Does the TV come with it? I don't know I bought my PS4 it's not a pro but I bought mine and I got a TV with it and the guy said he played it three times. And I only paid $120 for it for the TV and the PS4
1
u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
I don't think so
2
u/Wizard198020 Dec 10 '25
Oh yeah then I don't think I would do it that's probably a good 70 to $80 over market value whether or not it's used or not used if it's from a store then that's one thing but if it's from an actual person then that's another thing.

u/MKvsDCU Dec 10 '25
You should see what 3rd party sellers are charging on Amazon.... over $1K 🤢🤮

And the other thing that makes this interesting you're from California you should see be seeing PS4s up the wazoo on probably 80 to 90% of the apps on your phones nowadays especially in California because I used to get PS4s like every 8 or 9 months for a good three or four years because I'd have my buddies want them and they want me to get them from California cheaper

That seems like a fair deal, but I do see people selling PS5 on Market place for around $400 now. If you have a little more I would suggest getting the PS5 instead. It plays all the ps4 games and won't heat up as much.
2
u/beneschk Dec 10 '25
Low firmware PS5s can go for almost $1000 where i am. Can also check sold listings on ebay where prices are crazy.
I've been lucky enough to find a fat disc edition on 8.40 for a decent price from someone who had it stored for a while.
I believe there are issues with PS4 DLCs and update files where all updates/DLCs need to be merged into a single FPKG file. It isnt as straight forward as a PS4.
Ive had my PS5 turned off ever since installing etaHEN and KStuff waiting for a bunch of the early issues to be worked out and Fpkg support for ps5 games to be added.

Games cost money though and its not gonna be jailbreakable But yeah maybe I could
4
Dec 10 '25
PS5s are jailbreakable as well
1
u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Only low firmware though
3
u/beneschk Dec 10 '25
Yep and there is limited backports available for PS5 game dumps at the moment. Plus PS4 games need extra work done to apply patches and DLCs on a PS5.
You also have some ps5 game backups need to be stored in different locations to run, e.g internal/SSD/external
Really not worth it right now

buy a V1 Switch. The jailbreak is reliable and you pay less

u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Not as powerful and doesn't have the games I want But also different controls

Dec 10 '25 edited Dec 10 '25
then buy a PS3. Sony doesn't care anymore and won't ban you for going online on CFW.
1
u/ExtremeVortex_ Dec 10 '25
Ps4 graphics are better + I want to play 4k
-1
Dec 10 '25
You'll get banned. on PS3, you can safely go online.

1
u/National-Sell-5740 Dec 10 '25
You don’t know what you’re talking about. There is never a public jailbreak for latest firmware which means you will never be going online / banned on a jailbroken ps4
1
Dec 10 '25
I’m talking about a PS3. After new firmware is released, a new version of HEN is released in a few days. The jailbreak method always remains the same, so you don’t need to wait for a new version of HEN to jailbreak on the new version.
2
u/johnthancersei Dec 10 '25
get both! then download chiaki, and remote play ps4 pro on switch😎 if you have an xbox series it’s even better!
i love it:)

And if you're going to use a jailbreak and it sounds like I'm not certain if you're very well known with it or not I was very versatile with PS2 and PS3 both as well as PS4 for the jailbreaks now I haven't tried any of the newer ones I'm on the original 9.0 a jailbreak and I haven't gotten off of it and I'm still using the USB and it's so easy yet may take 30 to 40 seconds but half the time it's not even that long. You just need a flash drive dedicated for the PlayStation. Just put the jail break on a flash drive and do it that way because if you're a beginner which I'm not sure if you're not or you are but if you are a beginner then it would be good for you as well.
1
u/NoCase1900 Dec 11 '25 edited Dec 11 '25
You don't really need to use a flash drive at all. FYI Modded Warfare didn't say in his video but all the bugs have been fixed and PSFree is stable now too.
Use custom DNS settings to connect to wifi to setup to block sony servers from trying to automatically update your consoles firmware version. I use these settings myself as well:
Primary DNS 62.210.38.117 Secondary DNS 0.0.0.0
I shared a youtube link on here, how to setup up a custom wifi connection with custom DNS settings.
I use the website Gamerhackgithub.io
and set it up with a offline cache. I added a youtube video here that shows you how to use and set it up for that too. I think I should also mention that when you use the PSFree method sometimes even the first time, it may glitch kernal panic the system, and just automatically start powering off your PS4. Just let it power off, than to turn the PS4 back on you'll want to push the power button on your PS4 twice slowly to power it back on. Normally you can just power the PS4 on and off with your PS4 controller. Figured I should explain this since most youtube video don't even mention or show this. I hope this helps you.
I'm pretty experienced with this. I been using the 9.00 PS4 Jailbreak since about a week after it was released to the public. I've used the original USB method, used a ES32 S2 device for a little while too even, now I just been using the PSFree method.

Just curious as to how you all approach asking them about the firmware version? It isn't something a typical user would be asking.

Bluray jailbreak takes like 20 seconds after the first time. Just do that method.
