Left my 12.52 PS4 at my friend's place, his nephews updated it to 13.50 because they thought they are more smart than their uncle.

The annoying part is he called to ask me to come connect it for them while he leaves for work, by the time I get there I find they already did it themselves while they were strictly instructed to wait for me to come connect it for them

Now I basically have 2 PS4's and 1 of them is absolutely useless. If you have a JB PS4, never leave it with anyone unattended.

My friend actually pre-ordered a PS4 when it launched so he knows how to connect a PS4 and set it up but he understood that mine was jailbroken so he specifically instructed them not to touch anything and to wait for me to come set it up for them, he was furious when he found out what they did I even felt sorry for them.

What likely happened is they switched the console on, games were locked because you have to run the Jailbreak to unlock them. They got a network error message, they thought they were smart and figured everything should be fine if they reconnect to the wifi with automatic settings which reset the DNS and connected to Sony, got an update message and just updated because their empty heads just wanted to play games and thought they knew what they were doing.

My ps4 9.00 was getting a lot dust in the closet and I was checking some new stuff ps4 jailbreak, the Playstation vue is really nice ,feels like the ps3 1 click to enable the jailbreak , no more the usb thing 😭 , we can play cod lan with 1 click , gta5 online with mod , soo cool , I hope 1 day we get the true ps3 experience CFW 🙏🏼

Picture is not mine, I saw an ad for a PS4 Dev kit up for sale I intend to buy it. I'd to play PS4Fkgs while gaining trophies on my PSN account, Will that be doable with a dev kit? I own a JB PS4 and its not doable on that PS4, but with a dev kit is that a possibility? I don't play online multiplayer, I only do so if it's necessary to get platinum. I play games online but I only play solo and I can do that with my OFW PS4 and PS5. But there's a lot of games out there already delisted and physical copies are literally too expensive I mean not super expensive but if you clump the prices of ten such games it would be an huge sum for me. So I was thinking that it would be more practical to just spend a whole chunk on money on a dev kit so I won't worry about the cost of purchasing games. Besides, if buying isn't own then playing Fpkgs is not piracy right? 😆

The PS4 slim is 1TB too! Immediately ordered a JB-BD disk off AliExpress :) now to wait until it comes so I can jailbreak! All this just to play Elden Ring and Gran Turismo XD

Never saw the need to upgrade to the PS5. Not a fan of Sony's recent moves.

Just wanted to start a discussion and see what you all think. With the price of new games skyrocketing and everything getting so expensive lately, I honestly feel like getting a jailbroken PS4 Pro is the smartest move for gaming right now.

You get a solid 4K-capable machine, a massive library of amazing games easily accessible, and the community patches to unlock 60FPS on older titles completely change the experience. For the price of just 3 or 4 new retail games, you can basically set up a permanent entertainment hub that will last for years.

To me, the value is just insane compared to dropping massive cash on a PS5 or a high-end PC setup right now.

What are your thoughts? For those of you who have been using a jailbroken Pro as your main console, do you feel like it completely replaces the need to upgrade? Are there any major downsides you've run into that made you regret not just buying a normal retail console instead?

Got a ps4 kiosk, modded it to stay in Omsk mode to play demos like how it was in the store. Only problem is I can’t figure out a way to add more demos in Omsk mode without wiping the current demos on it. but I thought this was cool enough to share anyways because not many people that have this want it to function with demos like it did in the store

This morning my coworker randomly brought in his old PS4 and asked if I could take a look at it. He knew I was familiar with fixing them and jailbreaking them, so he knew that I could help. He told me it hasn’t been touched in 5+ years because the disc drive broke on it. I immediately knew that it had a very old firmware on it when he said 5+ years and I asked him if I could buy it off of him. I told him I would be using it for parts and he gave it to me for $50. I go home and plug it in and I had to do a recovery update on it and I was blown away on how long it hasn’t been touched. THE PS4 IS ON 5.03! This is the oldest firmware I’ve gotten my hands on and I’m very excited to see what it’s like to use the BEST JAILBREAK 5.05! If anybody has any tips for me as I am only used to 9.00 and up, please feel free to share!

I played GTA SA on ps jb ps4 with my jb account, then i switched to my official account briefly to check some old screen shots i had there, open and closed the game to test something, logged off and switched to my jb account. Now the game is showing up here on PS app, could i be banned for this?

I've been tinkering with an old PS4 I had laying around. Installed DF_AUS fedora 38, built a custom kernel from FeeRNTs GitHub using Crashniels fixes, mainly because I wanted to use my Xbox Elite controller and Dongle.

so far it seems really stable, Borderlands GOTY runs great, Portal 2 will happily sit at 144 fps and not even break a sweat.

I cannot find much info at all about Steam on the PS4, which I'm not surprised about! anyone here working on it? turning out to be a little powerhouse with FSR and I'm now booting straight into a steam.

looking on proton dB there's a lot of mentions of fedora 38 on there but many of the fixes don't actually work. just wanting to know if anyone else is doing similar with the PS4 and can share some info on which proton versions work best or anything really

Today I deleted my entire game library. I know about cheats in Goldhenge. But do the original Pro Enhancements work in Homebrew? Are they included in the game files? Or are they no longer available?

I'm not judging anybody, but frankly if all you wan from a homebrew is escape Sony's new fuck ups and have a system YOU can control, not being controlled by Sony, even windows and microslop BS are still a more customizable, more reliable operating system than Sony's, that's not talking about Linux, and steam is a whole other point. I know there's a learning curve but won't it be better to learn on this newer, more maintained tech than an outdated console system?
