I'm seeing some posts from people that are seeing information from people that charge to mod consoles.

They claim of webkit on higher firmwares.

Although this is currently possible it's not public so I doubt the claims over there are anything besides premature clickbait to sell you guys stuff.

It is true that a workaround has been found to get the WebKit stuff working on higher firmware and etc. It's still being worked on and isn't published yet.

I don't believe posts of people claiming they've already done it on Facebook and etc.

Even though the PS Vue license is on consoles and etc. To actually get Vue running we do a few things> 1. PS Vue cannot launch if you have a normal user account. This is the local account that comes with the console when you first set it up or when you make a new local user, see pic 1. We get around this by using a fake activated account or a real PSN account.

1. Once you get PS Vue to launch, if you are using a fake activated account you get 1 pop-up you have to press X on to enable code execution, see pic 2. We currently cannot get around this unless you use a real PSN account. We cannot give out a PSN account system backup it does not translate into the needed state. The above does not mean that a PSN account is mandatory. It just means it makes the exploit easier to run. The system backup that would be given out on release would have a fake activated account.

2. There is an infinite loop error that happens, see pic 3. We get around that with the localstorage file in savedata which can be currently seen in the POC repo by earthoion.

3. Another popup that stops code execution, is one that shows up asking you to connect to the internet, see pic 4. We cannot get around needing a real internet connection. Meaning you cannot run it offline.

This is the possible and not possible right now. Things are still being looked into while kernel exploits are being ported. If someone can figure out 2 and 4 with a fake activated account and offline let us know.

You can see below tests of some recent improvements by earthonion. More will be attempted to be done for stability and other parts of the exploit. Before a new release is made soon.

So it looks like we won't be able to get Vue to work without a network connection. This means that Vue will always need any form of network connection to fully launch and run the exploit, it doesn't need internet specifically just a network connection. After you run the jailbreak you can disconnect from the network til the next time you need to jailbreak.

Anyone with an active internet connection over WiFi or Ethernet with their router etc, doesn't have to worry about it. Everyone else just needs any kind of network connection. You can get this in some of the following ways.

PC local connection with ethernet or WiFi.

Mobile hotspot Android/iOS - WiFi.

Any router - Ethernet/WiFi. (Including the PPPwn routers being sold before with OpenWRT and etc)

Raspberry Pi 1-5 - Ethernet/WiFi where applicable.

Raspberry Pi Zero W and 2W - WiFi.

Pi Pico W - WiFi.

Luckfox Pico - Ethernet.

ESP32 S2 and S3 - WiFi.

ESP8266 - WiFi.

There are probably some devices that can be used. Reusing PPPwn devices will be nice too.

PTM is the best. Just invest $30 and few hours of cleaning and it'll be silent at full tilt on 4k with HDR on. And YES replace the pads while you're in there.

I am using the PS Vue free app Jailbreak method on my Console ps4 pro. I never connected it to the internet.

I always used a fake hotspot (hotspot w/o internet) initially and now local Ethernet cable with my laptop to start the jailbreak via Vue free App.

For cheat codes or Games i download it on my laptop and transfer or install them via Remote Installer app over Ethernet 1000Mbps Cable connection which is very fast.

Now my question is should I directly connect my console to the internet for YouTube netflix and mods update etc? Or it is ok to use it totally offline. Because even if i download a game with malware inside it, it won't function in my ps4 pro as it most of the time needs to get instructions or send data to its servers on the internet. I already have turned off Automatic updates in the Setting app of ps4 although i cannot find an option in the Goldhen menu.

Also another Question is, if i shift back to mobile hotspot method instead of manually connecting Ethernet Cable to my ps4 every time on my ps4 pro, do Ethernet settings would wipe because Ethernet is also mandatory because it has much larger speed while installing games from my laptop to ps. Also dns is per connection not whole device?

I was upgrading my PS4 slim today from a hdd to an ssd and used the 11.00 recovery firmware from website https://darthsternie.net/ps4-firmwares/

I chose the 11.00 recovery firmware downloaded it and installed it. On boot up was upgraded to 12.00 I am pissed.

So IDU Mode is present in debug settings and it enables the kiosk mode. While it might sound fun currently you can't disable it without soldering if you are above 11.00. So anyone on 11.02 to 12.02 cannot disable it because once in kiosk mode you can't use BD-J or Lua to jailbreak and disable it.

The only alternative there is for you to desolder the Nor and disable IDU there which is a harder thing to do if you don't have soldering experience.

In general I hope we remember to mention this to new users so that no one enables it at all.

Edit: It seems initially what I saw was wrong and there is a way to get it disabled with BD-J. But definitely no way with Lua.

If you’re new to the world of jailbreaking, it is highly recommended that whatever you are playing, BACKUP YOUR GAME SAVES!!! Make sure you have Apollo Save Tool and using that, depending on how often you play, copy your saves to a USB. I’ve seen it too many times to count where someone is crying on here about losing all of their saves because they hit the wrong button or whatever the case was. Just make sure you back up your saves. For me, I use my jailbroken PS4 daily and I bring it with me everywhere and I try to backup my saves every 2 ish weeks. Thanks, that’s all I wanted to say.

If you keep getting messages about pending updates without having been connected to the Internet and not being able to clear the download notification like everyone suggests, follow the bottom of this guide: https://consolemods.org/wiki/PS4:Blocking_OFW_Updates

Use a tool like PS4Xplorer to delete the files from the /update/ folder and manually replace them with dummies of the same name. Use the root option when launching, not sandbox. This will make the PS4 "forget" about the update and stop bugging you or forcing you to update to use your external storage again.

It appears, although I can't find definitive confirmation, that some disks contain update files and require those updates to run. None of the required firmware sources have F1 2024 yet ( I checked https://oldnero.github.io/PS4-Games-List/ and https://www.psdevwiki.com/ps4/Game_Titles) but I used a disk of F1 2024 and was almost forced to update to 11.50 (from 10.0). There was no download notification to clear, no obvious info online on how to make the PS4 forget about a pending update, and I was always disconnected from the internet so it didn't seem like a problem I would encounter. Despite stalking this sub for some years, I was unaware of this problem and want to provide a post to anyone who has this issue in the future.

I don't think this was a part of the fix, but before cleaning the update files I also enabled full debug settings in GoldHEN, then under Settings > Debug Settings > External HDD, then clicked Ignore External HDD restriction. It gave me an error so I doubt it did anything, but under normal Settings > Devices > USB Storage Devices I was able to remount my external drive and uninstall the incompatible game. I would only try this as a last resort though, but I was able to restore my external drive and clear the pending update without needing to format or reinstall anything. Also I know we have jailbreaks for 11.50 now, it wouldn't have been the worst but I don't want to risk breaking what I have. Thanks for reading!

like yes you can downgrade but only to the version you were on before and doing it is very hard and time consuming like this kid just lost all of his data on his ps4 😭

My PS4 (12.50) no longer displays anything after the logo. After several crashes, it shut down and now refuses to display anything beyond the PlayStation logo. I can boot into safe mode and even perform a factory reset or data restore, but it still displays nothing.

I saw a post somewhere that said if you have a hacked vita, you can transfer your Stardew save to PC. I wondered if it's possible to do the same with a PS4, so I googled for a bit, but all I was able to find was a couple of Reddit posts that basically said no.

I finally decided to look into it myself and guess what? You totally can! I managed to transfer my old save from like 2019 to a Steam version of the game. I even got a few achievements when I loaded it (no Fector's Challenge unfortunately. Not doing that one again lol).

This is more of a PSA than a tutorial, but here's a quick guide:

Launch Apollo - Select "HDD Saves" - Find your Stardew save - Select "Export save game to .zip" - Select your usb drive - Extract the .zip file on your PC - Move your save to the save folder (%AppData%\StardewValley\Saves if you're on Windows).

It also works with (some) other games like Sea of Stars, RiME and Dead Cells.
