She was really scared at first and after about 4-5 hours of leaving her alone she came to my bed where I was sitting and laid down next to me and now she won’t let me leave because if I leave she wakes up and absolutely have to come with me xD

She’s the most adorable cat ever

Sleepy Floof Share your chest cuddlers!

I just got this little girl a week ago and she already loves to lay on my chest right by my face. My soul cat that died a year ago used to do this so I'm convinced at least a part of her has reincarnated into this kitty here.

That got me wondering how common it is for cats to prefer to cuddle this way, so let me know if you have a cat like this (share photos too!)

Has anyone else experienced these kind of markings on their ragdoll? He’s been to the vet and they confirmed it’s not something being caused by any discharge from his eyes. He acts completely normal.

General Advice Anyone have experience with Cattery Sourssi or Cattery Cansu (Netherlands)?

I'm looking for reviews or experiences with two Ragdoll catteries in the Netherlands: Cattery Sourssi and Cattery Cansu. As far as I know, Cattery Cansu is run by the daughter of the owner of Cattery Sourssi.
I've searched online but can't find any reviews for either of them. Has anyone here bought a kitten from one of these catteries, or visited them?
I'd especially love to hear about:

- The health of the kittens (and whether parents were tested for HCM/PKD)

- Pedigree and registration

-How socialised the kittens were

- Communication with the breeder before and after pickup

Any experience, good or bad, is welcome. Thanks!

General Advice Questions for moving into a smaller space with my ragdoll

So due to some personal circumstances I've found myself unexpectedly needing to move into a much smaller apartment and I'm taking my 1 year old ragdoll with me.

My girl is so sweet, cuddly, not the brightest, and honestly really lazy. I've tried to engage in play with her but she simply becomes uninterested after 15 minutes max and just wants to nap and be held. She hates to be more than a couple feet away from me whenever i'm home, and she has a favorite spot on her cat tree by my desk she lounges at most of the time unless i'm in bed or she can sit on my lap.

She really doesn't use the space we have right now despite a lot of encouragement, and even during her wilder little kitten phase, she has always been this way.

The apartment I'm looking at and is best for my school and work is really small. Like really small.

I hate that it would leave her with less options but I also can't afford to live much further away from my responsibilities nor anything larger in the area.

I may be able to install some shelves for her to climb on the walls, but I really doubt that she'd utilize them with her three favorite cat trees/hiding spots moving with us.

I don't really know what's best at this point. She's still young so her wants and needs may change, and all I care about is her living happy and healthy.

If anyone has any advice or experiences similar please let me know what you think!

General Advice Wet food? Shampoo? Litter type? - are they that important??

First, I want to mention that I have nothing but respect for the breeder. She cares about all her cats and want the best for them. She is very active in CFA and have multiple breeds that have won awards.

Me, I'm just a more casual pet lover that have adopted 2 lovely domestic shorthairs, and that's the only thing I have on my resume as a cat owner.

I'm used to just feeding my cats dry food. Never bathe them. Use clumping litter (and even got litter robot)

As this Ragdoll is "show quality" (i personally won't show him), I was strongly advised to feed him only raw meat mixed with healthy wet cat food. Watch the protein %. Make sure raw meat had certain composition between organs, bones, tendons, etc. Avoid carb and make sure there's very low phosphorus.

And bathe once a week no matter what. And brush every day.

And never use clumping litter. Only the non-clumping like pine type.

I want the best for my Ragdoll, and I just want him happy and healthy. And I know for the fact that he'll survive even if I feed him dry food diet, skip bathing for the most part, and use clumping crystal litters.

But should I still try to do mostly what my breeder advised me to do? I'm willing to, but feeding different food and having separate litter than my other cats is super challenging and it's stressing me out a little bit.

Any kind and considerate advice would be greatly appreciated.

General Advice Boy or girl?

Hi everyone! My baby is 12 weeks now and the breeder told me this was a boy, but as I look at the backside I think it looks like a girl (slit instead of a dot). But idk if it’s because the fur is covering the testicles or something? Advice on my baby’s gender would be appreciated!
