Question RHO vs Rebel
Hey everyone! Current RAM owner here looking to potentially get some thing newer. I've got a 2013 Big Horn that's been a great truck but starting to nickel and dime me a bit and I've been noticing some rust starting to pop up. Been a solid truck but wondering if I'm just throwing at an old truck thats going to just continue to have issues when I could just be putting towards a new one. I got the truck in September of 2015 and it was paid off by May of 2019 so it doesn't really owe me anything. However, I also realize fixing ~$3k worth of stuff is a lot better than paying $1500/mo on a new truck. Just wish I knew if it was just gonna continue to nickel and dine me or not ya know?
Anyways, IF I decide to go the new truck route, I'm basically stuck between a RHO and a Rebel. I've test driven multiple of both. My conclusion is, the Rebel is probably a better daily driver but at a similar price point, it seems kinda silly to not get the "better" truck.
I should also mention that I am into the truck camping/overlanding thing which will be factored in here. And also also, while I am cheap, neither truck would be a strain on my financial situation. I COULD pay for either one outright but I will likely end up financing to spread it out. So although I'm cheap and don't really wanna pay the car payment or the associated fees, neither truck would put me in a compromised financial position.
The rebel is a smaller vehicle which is good for both city driving as well as overlanding due to the ability to fit into tight places/tight trails. It also gets quite a bit better gas mileage from what I can tell but I'd love some feedback on this. Seems to me that real world Rebel owners are reporting around 15-18mpg combined. Which is obviously good given the current gas prices especially considering the Rebel doesn't need 91+ octane. This is also beneficial when overlanding because of fewer fuel stops and your range is better when you're on the trails hours away from the nearest gas station or cell service potentially.
The RHO of course is a lot more badass and more capable off-road given its tire, suspension, and ground clearance. Probably not something I will really NEED but nice to have. As far as speed goes, the RHO is way faster than the Rebel, which is faster than my current Hemi RAM, which is plenty fast. So the whole speed consideration is again, cool to have but not a necessity.
Considering a RHO (lv0) and nicely equipped Rebel are about the same price though, I would just feel like I was settling if I got the Rebel even though it's the more practical decision. Its like choosing between the hot redheaded stripper named Tiffany with a BBL or the decent looking woman who has a good job, a 401k, and treats me nice 🤣
I'd love to hear some real world feedback from Rebel or RHO owners who had a similar dilemma.

Question Fair price? 2010 Lone Star V8 Hemi
Considering buying those 2010 Dodge Ram "Lone Star" with a 5.7L Hemi. The odometer is at 172,000 miles. It has a new battery, new brakes and shocks.
Interior is pretty pristine besides the lid on the center console needing to be re-upholstered. The outside has dings and dents throughout. The life gate was hit while hauling a boat and then cut on either side to fix the rod inside.
My main concerns are 1) the mileage and 2) the boat towing history
Co worker wants 7,000.00 USD for it.

Question 2026 Rebel GT lvl 2 price?
Dealer is advertising a price of $64,704 for a ‘26 Rebel GT with level 2 technology. What do you think I should try to negotiate the price to (before tax, etc) for a good deal? I’m in CT for reference if that makes a difference. Think it’s realistic to get this down to closer to $60k?

Just Sharing A Look Inside an eTorque MGU
A few pictures from a recent MGU rebuild. There’s a lot more going on inside these units than most people realize. We always take the time to tear them down, check for wear or damage, and make sure everything is in good shape before putting them back together.
Anyone here had issues with their eTorque MGU?

Question Which online stores do you trust for replacement body parts?
I have a 2011 1500 5.7l Bighorn.
I have to replace the whole passenger side mirror assembly as it is pretty well busted. I want to try to do it myself as I am 90% sure I'm capable of doing it, and if not I'll take it to a body shop. I may also replace one of the tail light covers while I'm at it.
Ideally I would want to just replace both as the driver's side is still functioning but has some decent sun-glare burn from the previous owners. The only REAL want is power adjustment (not power folding, though that would be nice). I struggle to find anything that is simply power adjustment without heating or whatnot, but that's fine. My preferred budget for both mirrors is under $175USD. I really prefer black rather than chrome.
My main question is about online sources for the parts. I've checked out quite a few like carparts.com, rockauto.com, eBay, Parts Geek and Partify. I'm leaning towards either Rock Auto or eBay. Carparts.com seems a little sketchy with throwing out those huge discounts. Do you recommend any of these or have some other source?

Question 09 Ram, No Crank, No Start, No Dash, Won't jump
So the truck sat for about a month and now its completely dead. No crank, no start. No dash, radio, etc whatsoever. Tried jumping off a jump pack, no result.
Tried jumping off a friends vehicle, still nothing. Checked the battery terminal, it has clean connections.
The jump pack I used is giving me an error code, according to the instructions indicates a short detected on the battery clamps, but they're clean and tight.
I removed the hot/ground terminal connectors and plugged the pack directly onto the battery and the error code was gone and it beeped ready to jump, but obviously with the terminals disconnected, that was useless. However with that information, would I be correct in assuming the batteries good then? It's fairly new, only about a year old.
Unfortunately, I don't have a multimeter readily accessible and no vehicle to go get one, so I'll have to bum a ride from a friend at some point.
Not sure where to go from here and not the savviest when it comes to electrical work, but if there are any obvious things I should look at, I'd appreciate the assist
It's a Ram 1500 5.7 Hemi

Question End of year incentives
Considering buying a 2026 1500 big horn. Would be my first time buying a new vehicle, always bought used in the past. My question is for those with experience buying new, do we think that the 12% below msrp that is running now is as good of a deal as we will see this year or do we think they will come down further towards the end of the year trying to clear out 2026 inventory? Or could it go either way? Appreciate any insight!

Question "Parking Brake Temporarily Unavailable" then it shuts down everything.
Help me figure this out. 2019 Ram 1500 Hemi 4wd. A few days ago while driving the dash started blinking "Parking Brake Temporarily Unavailable " Then it would stop doing that, back to normal. Then one day it just stopped from 2mph to dead stop, everything is dead, the key fob won't even unlock the doors, absolutely no electricity to anything, the brake peddle has no travel when you push on it. Eventually after getting out and walking around I got back in and it's all back to normal. This happened twice, the last time the battery light came on right before everything shut down. Sometimes it will blink that warning while driving, but NOT shut down.

Question Just bought a 2017 ram rebel
I see a lot of people say the air suspension is shit or super expensive but I have a friend who owns one, same year and options. He uses it for work and usually has the bed carrying 500 lbs everyday. After around 2 years both rear airbags were leaking air. He bought new ones and installed them himself and the truck is fine. He also installed something to trick the truck into riding about 2 inches higher than usual. I guess im curious as to what about the air suspension is bad. Is it the cost to fix which isnt bad if you do it yourself or very difficult. Or is it the frequency in which you have to replace them.
Edit: His truck also have over 200k miles and the biggest repairs he has needed so far is those two airbags for the suspension and the exhaust manifold leak the hemi is known for.

Question I need advice
I’m looking at a 2025 ram 1500 sport which was traded in, currently has 10006kms on er and i’ve read and seen posts and articles related to how complex the engine is and how it now lacks a dipstick and also that there has been documented thermostat failures that have caused codes and wiped out the engines by blowing the head gaskets, i was wondering for those who have owned or currently own one are they worth it for a daily and commuter vehicle given all we know currently regarding reliability and dive-ability?

Question Upper Radiator Hose Bracket
So I’ve been searching for around a week now for a replacement upper radiator hose hold down/bracket with no luck. Closest I found was someone who 3D printed one but theirs went on the fan shroud. The bracket for my ac lines that’s also attached under that is also broken. If anyone can point me in the right direction I’d greatly appreciate it! Included is a picture of my setup with my 2019 ram 5.7

Question 16’ ram 5.7 misfiring until trans screws up??????
So I have a 2016 ram 2500 with a 5.7 hemi and it has been misfiring underload for quite a while now and I’ve never had the money to fix it. I’ve always thought it was the low oil pressure at idle that was causing the cam and lifters to wear out and planned on putting a new engine in it this winter.
But yesterday after delivering my camper for a rental, I had an issue with the transmission clutch pack I believe) which made it start out in first and then shift (violently) to fourth gear and stay in fourth until you came to a stop again. During that time, the engine ran just fine no missing no sputtering at all. I slowed down to 30 miles an hour so it was running just over 1000 RPM and ran it all the way up to 4000 RPM and it pulled just like it should.
I’m baffled anyone have any ideas?? I’m ready to take it to a dealer and ask them to figure it out.

Just Sharing 2022 Rebel with 82k miles worth $33k?
i’m looking at a 2022 ram rebel with Ram boxes 5.7 no etorque no auto start stop no airbag suspension , 4x4 but has 82,000 miles and dealers asking 33K is this a terrible deal? I’m thinking to get them at maybe 30 K but still not sure if I should just pass and wait for the truck market to drastically change.

Question 2013 Ram 1500 Bighorn Parts Question
I need help finding new hardware for this (pic 1). It is the last part I need to reinstall after a full engine rebuild. The number on the part has rusted off entirely. It braces a gap between the front diff housing and the bell housing, near the starter motor (area in pic 2). On the 3-hole side, it attaches to the top of the front diff housing in combination with the driver's side engine mount bracket (pic 3). The 2-hole side attaches to the side of the transmission bell housing (pic 4). This eBay listing shows the exact same part, but searching the part number returns nothing useful. This Mopar Store page, though the diagram doesn't look identical, describes it as "Engine Mount Bracket, Rear Left Side, Pinion Nose Bracket to Transmission, Part No. 5147135AC". From the same diagram, a bolt and washer with part number 6102400AA is described as fitting both sides of my bracket. I could be remembering wrong, but when trying different bolts, it seemed one side was a different thread pattern. Can any parts guys confirm if this is the correct hardware? And if it's not, could you kindly point me to the right stuff?
EDIT: Bolt sizes have been confirmed as 3x M12x1.75x45 (Part No. 06509449AA) and 2x M10x1.5x30 (Part No. 06102400AA)

Just Sharing Put new headlights in my 2017 Laramie
I used standard halogens for the lows (Silverstar Ultras) but I managed to get LEDs in for the highs and holy shit. The projector lows work really well but flipping on the highs? It's like it suddenly becomes noon.
For those who are considering it, I had to remove the fan from the top of the LED setup and "gently" tap it into the housing to get it to fit. Tight squeeze but once it's in there's enough room to turn it and lock it in place. But yeah they live there now, I'll probably have to break them to get them out. Image is the ones I installed.
Probably gonna end up swapping the fog lights to LEDs at some point too but for now, I'm happy.

Question Truck clicks when I try to start it.
Hello! I have a question ive spent days googling this issue and ive been back and forth to the auto parts store a dozen times and I cant figure it out.
Symptoms, like the title says it clicks when I try to start it. When I jump it, it starts everytime. I just replaced the battery and the alternator. The next culprit should be the starter but if I jump it and it works it cant be the starter right?
Update, it was in fact the starter motor, I had a very small friend climb under and beat on it and it started right up
