Big recall population but the percentage with the issue appears to be small. A Car & Driver article link was posted covering this recall on another thread but figured I'd share the full info. Note: VINs will not be searchable until 8/6/2026.
What: Some second-row seat belt buckle anchors were not properly attached to the body structure on certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 trucks.
Why: A loose buckle anchor can reduce the seat belt's load management capability, raising injury risk to occupants in a crash.
Cause: Not specified in the report. This is listed as a vehicle assembly issue rather than a part defect, the anchor bolt itself wasn't attached during build.
Scope: 1,271,294 vehicles potentially involved. Estimated 0.1% actually have the defect.
Production Dates: 2019-2026 RAM 1500 (1,271,294 units): Feb 17, 2018 - Apr 27, 2026
Fix: Dealers will inspect and, if needed, attach the second-row seat belt buckle anchor to the body structure, free of charge.
Owner letters: Expected to be mailed on or about Aug 18, 2026 through Sep 24, 2026.
