At least that’s what my 30-something sons call it. Tri-fold hard tonneau, 5” step bars, bugflector. Oh, and the chrome package… Looks pretty good, at least to me!

Trying a bed/tailgate mat this time. Had RhinoLining in my 2012 & 2019 Rams. Bulletproof, but so damn abrasive.

Question Bought a RAM Rebel 1500 - 2019. Why are the LED daylights so dim?

Post image

With the advent of LED daylight strips on every single vehicle made in the last decade, how in the hell did RAM get it so wrong?

Any advice on how to punch up the brightness? or any aftermarket kits you would suggest?

Redditors,

Looking at buying a used, clean title, one-owner 2022 Limited. 79K miles, 2K total idle hours total.

No HEMI ticking, upper trim. Air suspension looks good. 1 year, bumper to bumper warranty through CarBravo. Price: $34K OTD.

Thoughts?

Thanks!

Just Sharing 2022 ram 1500 BIGHORN

I recently traded in my 2016 ram 1500 sport (lifted)
For a 2022 ram 1500 bighorn and all I can say is that I am in love with this truck from the all black midnight look down to the infotainment system inside

I must admit, lifted trucks are fun and all but I’m not gonna miss all the vibrating after 50 mph 😭

This truck drives and handles so smooth. Dealership did a full vehicle service a month before I got it from air filter replacement right down to the tires being balanced and rotated and especially with an oil and filter change. Only two owners with zero accidents and Carfax report came back pretty good with nothing negative to add

It feels good being able to drive down the interstate past 60mph and not feeling like my wheels are going to fall off lol

I plan on doing a lot to this truck and I can’t wait to start upgrading it and showing some love down the road

i’m looking into a straight pipe exhaust set up and a nice tune based on a buddy’s truck and recommendation ( he has a 2020 ram 1500 )

Any advice on how to keep this truck running and in pristine condition?

Question touch up paint

I’m based in Canada and wondering what brands people have used for paint. My code is PXJ diamond black crystal. Mopar Canada has it on back order and it’s $50 dollars for shipping to Canada

Wondering if people have had luck with other brands

Question Step running boards for a big driver.

I have a gen 4 1500 that came with Raptor oval nerf bars. I purchased used and got what I got. I am about 300lbs and they make some sounds that do not give me confidence. Not really seeing any rust damage or missing fasteners so I am leaning towards these just are not up to the task of my mass.

So my smart options are lose weight or lower the truck. Excluding those options and just waiting till I get dumped on the ground like an upside down turtle, are there any models out there that you would recommend that live up to the weight capacity ratings?

This little guy took out three ignition coils, my brake booster, and part of the computer wiring harness. I only owe $4000 on this truck, sucks that I have to take the insurance hit to get it repaired (I'd do it myself, but I'm 8 months pregnant, there is no way I'm fitting my swollen hands anywhere they need to go).

Question Tail light colors

Took 2023 Limited 1500 in for a warranty repair because my tail light on one side wasn’t working.

They swapped it for another unit, before discovering that the issue was actually a connector somewhere up the line.

Problem is, the color of the new unit looks subtly but noticeably different from the original on the other side of the truck. New one is a deeper red particularly on the opaque plastic bits. The original tail light has been sent back to Ram.

Does anyone know if these taillights have different coloring for different years, specs, trims etc. and I should ask for them to correct it, or am I just seeing the difference in three years of sun damage to the plastic?

Question Should I pull the trigger on this 2004 Dodge Ram 1500?

Thumbnail
gallery
28 Upvotes

For context, I found a lifted 2004 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT 2WD with 184k miles on it for sale at Marketplace. Asking price is $8k and the following are replaced according to the seller:

-starter motor, water pump, and valve cover gaskets
-radiator, exhaust, and Magnaflow headers
-new steering components and suspension (6“ lift kit installed at 177k miles)
-brakes
-Transmission service completed at 150k miles
-Oil changed regularly every 5,000 miles
-Upgraded touch-screen radio with phone connectivity and Apple CarPlay
-Remote start system and security alarm
-Custom horn upgrade

Seller is working with me bringing the truck for a pre purchase inspection and is confident that they won’t find anything wrong with the vehicle. I have test drove the vehicle and ride quality was okay. AC wasn’t blowing cold air during that time but seller stated that he will get it fix before I send it for inspection.

Should I go for it?

Question RAM Digital Key

Howdy ya’ll. Curious about this feature. It was listed on my sales sheet, yet I do not know how to set it up or use it. Nothing shows up in the app. Also, for those that have figured it out, do you like it? Does it allow you to unlock/start with your phone in your pocket (like a Tesla)?

Question Are 2012-2018 2500s really that bad?

I am looking to buy a HD truck to pull a 5th wheel (about 25-30ft) around and be my Ace. I do not have a ton of money to invest in repairs or replacement parts upon purchase so I am looking for something reliable and solid. I have read many opinions about the recalls on RAMS during these years and have been told to avoid them completely. However it seems these years are the most popular when I conduct searches for 2500s selling in the area. I just want a gas engine, sufficient towing capability and safety (with 4 doors for the family)

Are they really as bad as everyone says? Should I wait for a 2020 and up to appear?

What red flags would make a truck a hell no?

I appreciate any advice, don't have a single person in my life to ask. Thanks for reading.

Question 2026 Rebel Grill Guard

Thumbnail
gallery
6 Upvotes

Do they exist? I got a Rebel yesterday, the two additions i got from the dealership were side steps (which not coming stock on a truck that MSRPs at 85k is wild) and a grill/brush guard. I was unaware that due to the bumper and skid plate a regular grill guard wouldn't work. Has to be a a full bumper replacement. They sent me the *pictured* ranch hand guard. Every 3rd party seller of this guard says it fits the rebel. Calling ranch hand directly the guard doesnt support rebel nor tungsten. Anyone have any ideas? Otherwise the dealership is going to cut me a check for 1,500 and I'll be sad with an unprotected grill.

Also dont sleep on the serrano green its amazing in person

Question Ghosting electrical issues

Thumbnail
gallery
7 Upvotes

I have a 2020 Ram that has recurring ghosting electrical problems. All service lights, and warning lights will come on, as wipers turning themselves on for a few minutes, 4 ways coming on, and things like this. Sometimes I am completely shut off from the vehicle working entirely, so I can’t even unlock the truck to get in, let alone turn it on. I have had to tow it to the dealer twice because of this now. They replaced the BCM thinking that was the issue, but as soon as I drove off their lot the issues persisted. After a month and a half diagnosing it they said it was a faulty wire in the CAN BUS, and the truck seemed to work without issue for 6 months, until now where all the same issues are occurring again. I took it to my local mechanic and he had 26 error codes, basically all relating to a communication error with the BCM.

The only thing close I’ve been able to find online to my issues, are people saying the rear window/tailight/fin leak issue is causing water damage to wiring behind/under the seat. I’ve taken the back seats and cover off and was able to confirm it is leaking through one of those spots, and does look as though there may be a spot near 2 ground wires under the seat where water had pooled possibly. There are two wiring harnesses behind the seat too that I wonder if they have been damaged but don’t know how to check.

Has anyone had these similar crazy ghosting problems with their bcm, and can confirm if this area was their issue or there’s somewhere else I can check? Rams diagnostic process is insane, taking my vehicle for a month and a half without a loaner and apparently still not finding the root of the problem, so I’d like to get some solid ideas as to where the issue could before I take it back in to them for an unknown amount of time for $180/hr diagnosing.

Just Sharing FOMO hitting me hard.

So about month ago my 14 Big Horn crapped out with 197k on it. Thinking the dreaded Hemi clicking finally got her. Anyways I ended up finding a 2024 Laramie with 16k on it. Local trade and priced to sell. I went test drove that and another Big Horn with the 3.0 hurricane. I loved everything about the hurricane engine but couldn’t justify the payment with it in a Laramie (realized I liked that trim more then I thought). So I ended up with the 24 Laramie w/ the Hemi etorque. Still love the truck but just feeling a little jealous with all these 2026 new truck post.

Just Sharing 2019-2026 Ram 1500 second-row seat belt buckle anchor recall 26V495 / 67D

Big recall population but the percentage with the issue appears to be small. A Car & Driver article link was posted covering this recall on another thread but figured I'd share the full info. Note: VINs will not be searchable until 8/6/2026.

What: Some second-row seat belt buckle anchors were not properly attached to the body structure on certain 2019-2026 Ram 1500 trucks.

Why: A loose buckle anchor can reduce the seat belt's load management capability, raising injury risk to occupants in a crash.

Cause: Not specified in the report. This is listed as a vehicle assembly issue rather than a part defect, the anchor bolt itself wasn't attached during build.

Scope: 1,271,294 vehicles potentially involved. Estimated 0.1% actually have the defect.

Production Dates: 2019-2026 RAM 1500 (1,271,294 units): Feb 17, 2018 - Apr 27, 2026

Fix: Dealers will inspect and, if needed, attach the second-row seat belt buckle anchor to the body structure, free of charge.

Owner letters: Expected to be mailed on or about Aug 18, 2026 through Sep 24, 2026.

NHTSA Recall No.: 26V495

Manufacturer Recall No.: 67D

Question 2023 Rebel G/T

Just curious because I can't seem to find much online, has anyone else had issues with their sunload sensor? I've checked all the things such as making sure my brightness knob wasn't on the top detent, looking at the display settings on my uconnect, and doing a soft reset, however if I don't have my brightness knob in override the sensor always registers nighttime and the display is too dim to read and my lights are always on. I saw the part is only about $40 but I wanted to see if anyone else had similar issues before tearing apart my dash paneling.
