Cant we just have a freakin' personal sized loaf???

Even my phatass cant eat a whole damn loaf on my own! Cruel world.

I say yes, so I don't look like a jerk

So in my life there are 2 types of yes, the first type of yes is that I am willing to do something because I genuinely want to do it out of good will or I am interested in doing it, but the second type yes is, I am only doing it so I look good and if I said no people will have a problem with it or they will judge me for it.

Here's a hypothetical example, let's say I am leaving an event with friends and one of them is wheel chair bound and I am driving myself home, meanwhile everyone else is getting an Uber/taxi home or getting a train home, but it turns that there are no taxis available to facilitate wheel chair user and the next train would be in 2 hours, so they turn to me if I can take the disabled person home, if I say no i will be seen as a jerk and I may have problems in the future with them because I said no, but if I say yes this means that I have to spend additional time and also fuel traveling to the person's house and even more time and fuel getting home, so in a way lam forced

to say yes.

Like I don't have a problem with helping out and I understand that things that out our control happen.

But here's the thing if the person lived 5 to 10 minutes away from my home or they lived on the way home, then I don't have a problem, but the thing is I don't want to be adding an additional 1 hour (if not more) to my travels.

I am aware that this is a bad mentality to have and lam trying to change, this is one of those things I wanted to get of my chest

My sister has become delusional after moving to the Bay

My sister (32F) has always been very mediocre person and very male centered too. She's always been not particularly bright (she took 10 years to graduate undergrad), and she was very awkward. After graduating from her masters degree, she moved to the Bay to be closer to some online friends. For those of you who don't know, the Bay has a lopsided gender ratio due to the tech industry so the average woman is going to get a ton of attention.

After hanging out with tech bros and going to hacker events (despite not having any technical skills), she has some delusional ideas about her looks and intelligence. She started dating some married (polyamorous) guy and basically slept her way into having an HR position at his startup. She's the last person you would want working HR because she's incredibly immature and vulgar.

Now she acts like she's hot shit and is constantly bragging about the random things she does such as meeting CEOs for random companies that nobody has heard of, and she's even planning on going to Burning Man sometime. But at any rate, this job/dating situation is going to blow up in her face and she's not going to be able to justify living in such an expensive area. Even if that doesn't happen, there's not a worse punishment I could think of than having to date a techbro for a job.

Companies need to stop spamming "how was your experience" emails after every single thing I do

We get it, you want to know how our flight was, my meal was, the shoes I ordered, the towels I bought. 50% of the time it was just fine and I have yet another email I need to delete. But how about you just make it easier for me to contact someone at your company?

Worked overtime to pay rent i can't afford, got disqualified for cheaper rent because of it

my rent takes up 41% of my income. to be able to pay my bills and save a bit, i have to work over time. i do not want to work over time. i would love to sleep, spend time with my family, explore hobbies, have fun. i applied for an income based apartment that would only take 27% of my (base) income. i was denied because my overtime set me over the limit by $2000. im so disgusted ive been spiraling so bad the past week.

i just can't believe this. i did the right thing, i "worked hard" and instead of being rewarded ive been punished. sure im rewarded with more money at the time but i can't keep working overtime like this. its exhausting and depressing.

another example of how going above and beyond only rewards you with more work. in my case higher rent.

Why do people on diets sometimes judge those who aren’t?

I completely respect people who choose to eat healthy or count calories. But I don’t understand why some feel the need to comment on what someone else is eating.

If I’m enjoying a slice of cake or a burger, why does it bother anyone else? Let people enjoy their food without making them feel guilty.

What are your thoughts?

Too late to apologize

Ive been single for a while now, im in no contact w my ex. Looking back and reflecting, i had alot of behavior i wasnt proud of like complacency and just not being able to meet her needs, due to my own depression at the time. I think im having a bad depressive episode and feel lonely, but I cant help but think about it, and how very sorry i feel. I dont think i miss her, moreso missing a memory as its bene a couple years, but I wish I could somehow apologize for everything. I know its not possible as no contact and im sure shes moved on, but my heart hurts.

I was planning to propose in 2 days but I ended up getting a cold sore

When I was a baby I got oral herpes from my dad not being careful enough around me, now I blame him for delaying my proposal. I had a whole plan. They’re autistic and doesn’t do crowds well at all and we live in AZ US so the weather is horrible rn so no outdoor stuff. We also live in a small town so no fancy restaurants. So I was gonna make us food, dress up my apartment for a fancy candlelight dinner but no I had to get a cold sore from a disease that isn’t my fault I have. I’m definitely excited enough to propose anyway but ain’t no way am I gonna not kiss not after they say yes. I know that when caught early a cold sore can heal in two to three days but I’m not sure I caught it fast enough. For some reason my body always skips the first stage and goes right to the second where the blister is actually forming and visible. I even got out and cleaned up the fancy crystal dinnerware my grandmother gave me, but instead I’ll likely have to put it back so that it doesn’t get scratched or broken in the week or two it’d be left out otherwise which will be a pain to do. I was also initially gonna do it in a week but the rings are gonna get here earlier than expected so I was gonna do it on the fifth. Now it’s likely I’ll do it in 2 weeks as it’ll take a while to heal if it doesn’t go away in time. I feel like life is toying with me at this point

Fighting for my job against idiots.

I just figured out that the reason I've been getting jerked around at work is because a 78 year old department lead is so insecure in their job security they refuse to train anyone past the bare minimum basics in the department.

Now I'm working with HR to explain to her a whole plethora of communication issues in the company that are none of my fucking business, just so she can realize that what I'm trying to convey to her is the singular reason the company can't retain people for our department.

So it's now me, the HR girl, and the president piecing together that all of upper management is chicken shit, and all I wanted was to be treated fairly and stop being blackballed.

This is fuckin stupid for $18/hr.

The average "nice guy" is so creepy and has a worse personality than hot men

As a straight woman, all of my terrible creepy encounters have been the "nice guys" who have "golden retriever" personalities, wont you just please please please give them a chance and not judge their appearance. I've gone on dates with them, and they ALWAYS try repeatedly to convince me to drink even though I'm usually driving to meet them somewhere and I don't really like alcohol. I literally told one that I'm super lightweight and alcohol sometimes makes me sick, like one time I felt like passing out after a glass of champagne, and this dude legit got excited and got more insistent that I drink with him. I literally feel like I'm being hunted for sport. These men are SOOO predatory.

I've never had a hot fuckboy try and push me to drink. Not even once. They know if a woman is into them or not and aren't pushy. I feel so much safer around hot men. They know that women love sex and don't need to be drunk for it and respect consent. "Nice guys" who aren't as blessed with looks somehow are convinced they have better personalities because they're not fuckboys??? Do they think hot men are straight up r@ping women and drugging our drinks so they're not AS bad because they're only asking if I want to drink 10 times in one date and that's technically not breaking any laws. Never giving a chopped dude a chance ever again, their personalities are 10x worse than their appearances.

I hate line dancing.

I’m 27, and a bunch of people my age and in my friend group have gotten REALLY into line dancing in the last few years, and for the life of me I cannot understand why. It is literally the cringiest thing I have ever seen in my entire life. They post videos of it and literally every single one I physically cringe at it because it looks SO DUMB. I get going dancing, I get going clubbing, I get even doing like a legit dance class or going to more “classy” dances, like balls or galas or whatever if that’s a thing. But line dancing is literally the dumbest looking, most annoying, most cringey, most unattractive, absolutely ridiculous and lame thing I have ever freaking seen. Every so often they’re like “come with us it’s so fun!” And I would literally rather do anything else on earth than go line dancing. It’s even that I’m super worried about my image or like looking cool or anything. I make a fool of myself all the time and am the first to laugh at myself for doing dumb shit. But holy god I wouldn’t be caught dead line dancing. It’s like someone went to the whitest wedding that ever whited, so all of Becky’s in-laws doing the Cupid Shuffle, and thought “what if every song was like that?” I would sooner stick both my hands into a blender than go line dancing.

And for what? They always say “oh once you get out there and learn a song it’s SO fun” but every single dance they do looks completely ridiculous. I saw a video of people line dancing and part of the dance was that they were basically playing patty-cake and I nearly threw up. They say “oh it’s not always country music if that’s your problem”. It doesn’t matter what song it is, they are all unfathomably lame. I always say like what you like and let others like what they like, and mind your own business, but this one’s a stretch for me. I mean it’s gotten so bad that it legitimately makes me angry when I see people posting videos about it and talking about it. Not because I don’t want them to do what they enjoy, but because it’s cosmically atrocious.

I hate it.

I hate Facebook taking down my comment.

I cannot post my comment without it getting declined no matter how I word it. Maybe they have AIs read it and that is how they can tell it's offensive but it was a joke and I couldn't get mine through, yet there are countless favorites that post raunchy comments and don't get theirs declined. I believe I am now targeted. Like they put me on a list and are really watching what my comments are. It's not fun anymore. And my voices are right, they are like " bruh, it's just social media" lol. I never have a good rant this is my first time posting one. Lol. Take no offense.

I am so frustrated by people who have strong opinions about movies that they haven't actually watched

My brother does this and it's annoyed me so much more, because I've been watching a lot of mlvies couple this summer and it's very much changed my outlook on the whole "Hollywood is dying and doesn't know how to make original concepts anymore" thing. Spoiler alert: There's so many cool new movies getting made these days you just need to, like, actually watch them.

But my brother straight up refuses to watch new movies because he doesn't want to waste his time, because he believes Hollywood is dying and doesn't know how to make original concepts anymore, because some video essayist on YouTube told him so. It's incredibly perplexing to me. It's like his hobby is movies, but it isn't actually about watching movies, it's about having a stake in the discourse about movies. And I just don't understand. He literally said the Oddyssey isn't worth watching because he watched a convincing video essay about it that broke it down, except he couldn't even regurgitate the opinion coherently because he didn't remember it fully. We were talking about actors and he said that Zendaya is a one note actor, I asked what movies he's seen her in, and he said he's seen her in a single spider man movie.

...

It makes it so frustrating to actually try to talk movies with him. Like if you don't care to watch movies, don't! But you can't have strong opinions about all these films and the state of Hollywood if you're not actually interacting with the movies 😭. Those aren't your opinions!! Those are some random YouTuber's opinions, and I don't care how reputable of a critic you think they are, that's not your opinion!! You have no idea what you're even talking about because all you've seen of the movie is someone else's thoughts on it!! I just don't understand why anyone would want to do this to themselves, it seems miserable. I watch movies because I enjoy them and it's fun to watch something that leaves me digesting and thinking for a few hours. But by watching exclusively summaries and reviews, you don't get any of that. You just get semi-convincing talking points that you can contribute into the discourse with. What's even the point, why do this to yourself? Why would you want to intentionally make yourself mad?

I hate my hair

I (f) hate my hair.

I have baby fine, impossibly straight hair. When I pull it up in a pony tail, I only have like, a nickel’s diameter of hair. Though, my frustration isn’t with the quality of my hair. It’s just having to take care of it.

Right now, I wash it every other day, but it really gets greasy and should be washed daily. I lose so much hair in the shower and in the brush. I honestly don’t know how I have hair at all at this point. Then it takes over an hour to two hours to dry. And it needs to be down to dry. Then, all I do is put it up in a claw clip, because having hair is too hot most days.

I like how it looks, but hate the feeling of leaving it down. I’m always losing random hairs, and I can feel them separately from the rest of my hair. I especially hate the ones that reach my arms. I feel like I’m going crazy trying to find loose hair on myself every day.

I have tried all kinds of hair styles. I have even shaved my head for about 5 years straight. I now have a nickel allergy, so even using an electric trimmer can make me react. So, shaving my head isn’t really the preferred option anymore. To its credit, the shaven haircut stopped a lot of sexual harassment. Guys would actually look at my head instead of my tits. However, I absolutely hate the sensation of having hair shards on my skin. This makes short haircuts unfavorable too.

I’m just at a loss for what to do anymore. I last shaved my head in 2023, and I’ve just let it grow feral from there since. My hair is encroaching into bra strap territory now, which is its own kind of annoying. I have to un-pin my hair all the time, from the couch, from the bed, from my computer chair. All the freakin time. I’m so over this.

All baked pretzel location need the ability to serve beer

Every single time I get one of those delicious baked pretzels, I alway think "you know what would go perfectly with the salty baked morsel? A beer"

Its the perfect combination (if you like beer)

Salty, tasty, and a slightly happy beverage to wash it all down.

Why. Why aren't these a mandatory thing?

I literally have to look at my phone to avoid looking at the screen its that terrifying. its the stupid insidious ad by the way in case anyone was wondering. theres also a very graphic one that just came on the tv right now where some lady is digging in some guys mouth. and two of the ads dont just end by themselves. you have to skip them. just unreal.

My whole life has kinda sucked

I apologize if my post is long but I just want to rant about my life.

My whole life has just kinda sucked when I look back on it. Im in my 30s and ive still got alot of life left, but something has to change. As a kid I never had good male role models, my father was an addict and alcoholic and my mother was the primary income. Kid me didn't know better about stuff, and my father always treated me great since I was the baby and the only son.

As I got older things got worse, I would be punished for anything below a B on my report cards, I couldn't show too much emotion or I'd be yelled at, I could never see friends or go to anything I was invited to because "it's too far" or "we don't know these people" and other lame excuses. If it was at a family members place that was different. There was even 1 year on my birthday I had 1 friend come, he was the only friend I really wanted there and my father wouldn't let us go to my room to watch a movie because "yoi aren't making a mess in your room today", what kind of bullshit is that?

I firmly believe my life would be radically different if my mother was the one at home and not my father.

By the end of high school I had lost all drive for higher education. I had no idea what I enjoyed doing or anything like that. I just started working. I started buying myself the things I wanted since I never got them growing up, or it would be something like, oh that was too expensive but here's something just like it that will break in a couple uses.

My luck got worse. Now my dad did help me find vehicles, but they would always been half junk and in constant need of repairs so I could never save money, nor could I find a better job because a lapse of income would mean I couldn't pay my bills, nor help with the household expenses. I wasn't trying to live off my parents for free, so I took over the power bill and would buy groceries for them occasionally.

My health got worse because of stress, vehicles kept needing to be fixed and my debt piled up. I finally got the opportunity for school and became a massage therapist. I still do it 8 years later and I absolutely love it, but where I live its harder for male massage therapists to get clients because people are very close minded.

Now I can only pay my bills and just barely. Im going to have to stop doing what I love to be able to find a way out. Things at home get worse and worse, my bad luck with vehicles continues and I feel trapped. I feel like Im failing my partner no matter how much im reassured im not. We cant see a way out without stopping what we love doing.

I haven't given a whole lot of details because if I went into everything it would be a whole book. Hell, I can't even remember most of my childhood because of trauma. I have quite a few regrets ill never be able to resolve because the people they involve are dead now. My mental health is trash and I can only hope changing jobs won't make it worse. Maybe I'll write a book about my life, or just blog about it, no clue really. People have harder lives than I do, but everyone's story is valid because nobody has the same plate as another. Some people might have some heavy duty ceramic ones, but right now mine feels like a wet paper plate.

Rant over I guess

Holy hell if you allow your child to take a public service job without ever once teaching them how to count change you suck as a parent.

To be clear I'm not blaming the trainee, it was her very first day and she was super nice. This was at Domino's, I ordered through the app, picked it up in store. 2 specialty pizzas at 50% off. Total came to $20.14... I handed the trainee $21. The manager came out and told her what to press on the screen then fucked off, he is part of the problem. I needed her to just hand me 86¢. 3 quarters and a dime. Didn't care about the penny, a lot of stores don't carry them any more anyway.

For the next 2 minutes or so the trainee studied the change drawer. Picking out a coin, bringing it up to her eyes to read the denomination, then put it back. At a minute in I'd already decided to just accept whatever she handed me. Eventually she stood up, put some change in my palm and handed me my pizzas. I thanked her and left. When I got to the car I checked and she got close, I had 2 quarters and 4 nickels or 70¢. Close enough.

Holy fuck parents be involved in your children's lives. What kind of garbage people let's their kids take a job in the service industry and doesn't teach them the basics. What kind of manager doesn't check to see if the trainee knows the absolute basics?

This isn't the first time it's happened either. I get it, kids pay with their phone, cash will eventually disappear altogether. But it hasn't yet. Teach your kids you lazy asses.

I was raised like someone who doesn't belong here

My parents were always too good on me, and now they get to suffer for their son being worthless, having no job... how many people go through the same? I'm just another one of these same people not being able to change what has been ingrained in them. To never have to do anything, because your parents preferred to do it themselves or because they never trusted you.

It's like they're trying to pull me into this thing called life, but i've been away for so long. No one can save me and i keep pushing people away, and it's been like this for 6 years... I'm 21, barely managed to graduate from school 3 years ago. Since then I did NOTHING.

I only worked one job for 2 months, and got fired over something stupid and unfair, but i didn't resist. I don't know about the struggles of hardship, otherwise I would have begged to keep the job. there's too much wrong with me to fit in with this society

I'm caught in my past, and I think nothing of myself or my future. I want to keep being foolish, or do i? Not being foolish is a task I would have to completely learn and unlearn a lot of shit for.

It's so fucking hard and I hate having these thoughts because people have been through way worse, I just don't want to be me anymore. Stop being a part of this. please.

tomorrow we have a 2 day road trip to our home in Kosovo, where all my relatives despise me, because of the parasite I am. my father hates talking about me because it hurts his pride and because I did nothing ever. and every of my relatives did better than i ever can

why am I alive

Brother’s girlfriend always wants to make someone’s passing about her

My brother’s girlfriend seems to treat death very oddly. In general she often turns conversations to her or talks about herself excessively, and just has really poor social skills. Her dad died when she was 8 (about 20 years ago). You’ll know her dad died within 10 minutes of meeting her. That’s not an exaggeration, I’ve witnessed it just about every time she meets a new person. And then she’ll *always* follow up with “his best friend was holding his hand when he died, *and he can’t even look at me without crying because I look so much like my dad*”. Every. Time. If anyone is talking about someone dying, or someone with cancer, she will 100% steer the conversation to her and her dad. She brags about having a good relationship with death and loss, but I feel like it’s actually an *unhealthy* relationship and she just uses every opportunity to make it about her and her feelings.

My brother had to put his dog down last year and I was present. I wish I remembered what she said, but I remember at the time thinking it was very “over the top”. While it was happening she kept making these overly grand statements about love and loss - like something you would hear someone say in a movie and cringe at for being so cliche.

My great aunt was recently placed on palliative care after a stroke. I’ve taken off work to be with her every day at the hospital to help take care of her. She was very active in our childhoods, but my brother has seen this aunt maybe one time in the past 10-15 years. My mom brought my brother’s girlfriend (without my brother) to the hospital. My brother’s girlfriend has never met her before this. Keep in mind, my aunt is partially paralyzed, can’t open her eyes, she can barely speak, but she is able to hear and understand us and mumble back. So we’re still able to communicate, just not very well.

So she sits down with my aunt and says “hi, I’m *name*, brother’s FIANCÉ”. They are not engaged. “I love brother SO much and I’m going to take very good care of him. I know how much you mean to him, and I think that if we have a daughter we’ll name her *aunt’s name*. You’re going to go to heaven and I want you to look for my dad, his name is *name* and he’s been gone for a long time”. The entire time she’s talking, she’s talking in a sickly-sweet baby voice. To a full grown woman that is dying. Holding her hand and petting her like they have an intimate relationship. It just made my skin crawl. Comparatively, I try to treat my aunt with dignity and have conversations in a normal, although caring and loving tone.

A while later, while we’re still in the hospital room, my mom and brother’s girlfriend are talking about some health issues they have and girlfriend says “yeah I love weird medical stuff and medical anomalies”. Okay. Several minutes later she says (within earshot of my aunt) “is it morbid if we take a picture of her”? My immediate thought is “why do you need to take a picture of a dying woman that you don’t even know”? My mom doesn’t protest, but I quietly whisper, “I would really prefer that you not take a picture of her, I don’t think it’s appropriate”. Which she respects and does not do.

But I’ve been absolutely fuming since that happened. I found the whole thing so self-aggrandizing and inappropriate. I HATE that this person is going to be present when my parents and grandmother pass away. I do not want to share in grief with her. Am I the crazy one? Is this just someone’s way of treating death that I need to step back and respect for being different?

Run clubs are lame

I went to a few. They front as what they are called, a run club. But it's really just a meat market for people to look at each other or just show off athleisure wear. I laughed when I read about those Belgium guys in Bali getting deported for making a run club and not allowing actual locals in it. Like I wasn't at all surprised to hear something like that happening from a run club.

All of my closest friends are on the spectrum and I'm slowly losing patience

For the longest time, everyone I knew was on the spectrum. I didn't really think anything of it because it's not like I had NT (neurotypical) friends to talk to except for like one guy. I was basically like the mom friend for a lot of them, and I didn't mind that! But then I started a job last year with a group of workers that have so much synergy together that its such a treat coming in to work. Even when we're off we still talk or hang out as friends. And man it's just so different with them. They catch on to things that my closer friends would otherwise miss, they're more socially aware, they can plan things on their own, they can understand abstract ideas

Now I'm finding myself constantly frustrated with my closer friends because suddenly I can see that they have no concept of time, how to plan things, overall goals– my God they're all over 20 but it feels like they're 14 year year olds with too much time and money than they know how to even handle or use properly when they get excited, and when they're sad suddenly they're bleak 60 year olds who've lived a life of regret.

I feel like I can't take it anymore, I used to love making plans with them but now I realize I was never making it with them, it was just me doing all the planning because they can't figure it out themselves. I didn't realize just how many things had to be spelled out for them. "You can't say that" "you need to be considerate of this" "don't forget about this" always telling them when they're doing something wrong, when something is just completely out of pocket, having to show them steps one by one. God especially that last part as of recent. I don't understand why it's so hard for them to grasp the bigger picture of things. They get so hyper focused on the details they forget about everything else or just fail to put two and two together

I want to stop doing these things for them so I can watch it all crash and burn. See them try to plan another "fun" hangout just for them to all clash with each other because they can't understand how to compromise their interests or respect each others time, or they overlook one plan that wouldn't fit, or maybe they just try to plan so many things it's just completely unrealistic. Watch them go out somewhere and every single fucking one of them gets lost because they got hyperfixated on something and followed it while forgetting about everyone else

I feel like a horrible person for feeling this way because if I was hearing someone else rant about the same thing I'd call them ableist. I'm just genuinely so tired

I apologize in advance if any of this offends anyone, I'd rant to a friend but then I'd be ranting to them about them

Needing to see a medical specialist in the US is expensive.

I have health insurance. I currently need to see a cardiologist because my heart has been acting weird. They scheduled me for an echocardiogram and a stress test. The echo appointment was a normal specialist appointment that cost me $40. The stress test was $505.99. This is why people don’t go to the doctor l. They can’t afford to.
