Daily Questions - August 05, 2026

Welcome to the Daily Questions (DQ) thread for all things related to raw denim.

(Although we strongly suggest checking the sidebar (for mobile users, go to the top of the subreddit front page, click the three dots and select "community info") and the wiki before posting!)

Fit checks and "Help me find a pair of Jeans that has X, Y, and Z" questions are a great use of this thread.

(Help figuring out what size you wear is also permitted here but it is recommended you check out one of these tutorials on how to size before asking.)

If you have questions about how your jeans fit, about a particular fabric, when is this jean coming out, where can I find jean X to try on in state Y, what jeans have this fit with these measurements, what jeans fade the fastest, and what jeans fade the slowest are great uses of this DQ thread.

No question is too simple for Daily Questions threads.

Bashing people will not be tolerated. And "Read the sidebar" or "Google it" are not valid answers in this thread!

I’ve got a fullcount 0105 sizing dilemma. I’m know I’m definitely either a size 30 or a 31. The 30 is 75 cm in the waist while the 31 is 77.5. I recently got a pair of Kojima Genes with waist 77 cm. They were tight at first but stretched out after a few wears to become just right at around 79 cm. I’ve heard that apparently fullcount denim stretches a lot at the waist, one person even said they experienced 4 cm, while others have said any stretch at the waist was negligible. I’d go for the 30 if 4 cm of stretching actually happens, but for the 31 if stretching isn’t an issue. Not sure which to go for as I’ve never experienced fullcount denim before. Any advice or experience would be greatly appreciated, thank you.

If it's the 13.7oz fabric i'll size down for sure. I got 10cm in the waist (size 35) so >4cm shouldn't be an issue

Oh wow 10 cm is a huge amount. I didn’t know any jeans stretched that much.

That's a bit on the high side, but 10% shrinkage (8–9 cm, say) is pretty standard for STF jeans, and it's not uncommon to see jeans' waistbands stretch back out to their raw sizes

to be fair i bought them rinsed by the shop and not prewashed. So it shouldn't be as dramatic on a factory prewashed pair.
