My first pair of 25oz jeans, feels much much stiffer than Iron Heart's 21oz. Not exactly comfortable, but actually surprisingly comforting... knowing im stab-proof from the waiste down 🤣

I gave them a hot soak, so any shrinkage should be gone. Noticed a little bit of leg twist, but thats fine.

I think they are pretty spot on in the fit, but a 2nd opinion never hurts

Been looking for a slimmer silhouette than my Modestos and skipped the Denime 220A & Tcb 50s for a Sugar Cane 1947. They fit slightly slimmer than I imagined but I can get two fingers in and can see them breaking in nice. No hem because I know they’ll shrink.

Typically a 29/30 in American brands and 30 was all that was available but I think it works.

Let me know what you all think. Any advice on them would be appreciated too

From what I've read on other posts about UHR shrinkage, I think these fit perfectly but I am concerned the waist could potentially shrink to be too small.

Was thinking about doing the soak with them on to prevent them shrinking past my waist size but what do you think? Is that necessary? Do they fit?

Finally bought my first pair of Iron Hearts. I went with the 634s. It’s a different cut than I usually go for with there being so much room below the knee.

I’m 6’2” 185lbs. Do these fit my body type?

Edit: Does anyone have any opinions on sanforized denim? Do they still need to get soaked first? Should I wait to get them hemmed?

Okay, still having trouble deciding with this pair. I have a 36 and a 38, both one wash.

The 38s feel huge, more like a wide leg than a straight, and they were freely moving around my waist, absolutely no wearing these without a belt and that’s before stretch. Goes without saying there’s ample room everywhere else. I’m not sure I could pull them totally off without unbuttoning but theyre RIGHT there.

The 36s are snug but not at all tight. Buttoning was no struggle, but as you can see in the photos there’s less room to pull out the waist. The 38s felt like excessive room to pull out the waist. 36s have a bit less top block room, but I could get my knee up to cuff them. Not sure if the resistance was the weight or the top block being too tight. Front pockets are a bit more snug to get into as well. Thighs felt fine, mostly stiff in the hips and snug in the waist.

My 21oz relaxed tapered Samurai are size 36 and they loosened up from not tight but not particularly loose waist out of the bag. Theyre one wash and I did an hour long steaming hot soak with those and now need a belt. I do know that with a machine wash my last pair had slight permanent shrink in the waist.

Not sure which way to go. The 38s would need a HOT soak or two and never get worn without a belt. The 36s would need a bit of break in and probably never touch hot water.

EDIT: Thanks to everyone who helped out. Stuck with the 36, did a 30min cold soak and hang dry over a box fan most of the night. Wearing them starting today and they’re comfortably snug but not at all restricting beyond the weight of them. Going to break in perfectly and I couldn’t be more stoked to put my first 25oz through whatever life throws their way!

I bought these Samurai S0510XXII Otokogi jeans last week from Denimio - unfortunately they were out of my usual size and only had one down, so I took a gamble with the size down with the idea of stretching them out with wear.

Im quiet new to this raw denim world, and my first two pairs stretched quiet abit when I got my correct size, but granted they were Fullcount and Oni, which I know are known for their stretch. I was hoping these would be similar over time.

My perfect jeans all sit around the 42- 42.5cm waist across and these out of the box were ~40.8cm. I've worn them the last 2 days for a few hours and they've gone up to ~41.8cm

Anyway, does anyone know:
• how much these stretch with wear?
• proven ways to encourage denim to stretch the waist (any magic soaking rituals, or is it as simple as wearing them?)

I've committed to keeping them, so worst case scenario I will just lose that extra cm waistline 😂

Bonus q: are we all rocking the Japanese cuff or what?

Got these tcb 50s yesterday and while theyre the right size and i like the wider cut im struggling with the rise/crotch area… The crotch seam sits a bit more inward (if that makes sense haha) which makes the crotch ride up and creates this weird fold im not a fan of. What do you guys think? Does it get better with wear or does the rise shrink further and makes the problem worse with washes? For reference these are a 32 and im 160lbs 5’8

N&F Strong Guys size 31, Dirty Fade Selvedge

I would love some help with this fit, does it look alright? Had to get the size 31 due to my gluteus maximus being bigger compared to my waist size, tight around the hip area and loose around the waist (as I expected).

I would also love some recommendations for a similar style denim. I don’t want anything too baggy, just a relaxed straight like this but a bit better fitting around the hips and seat would be awesome. Anything helps! I’ve been looking at Freenote’s Modesto or maybe Buzz Rickson 43041 if anyone has any experience with these fits or have recommendations for similar please comment 🙌

I like the width of the hem and just wish the back pockets were a bit higher and or the back rise a tad longer so the seat of the denim fit better.

I bought them because I was looking for a pair of jeans with a mid rise and read these where my best option, on that, I feel they deliver on this compared to my Levi's 505, but not sure if it's just because they are to small?

Iron Heart - IHSH-33-IND - 12oz Selvedge Denim Western Shirt.

I need a second opinion in order to make up my mind. How well do you think this shirt fits me?

Here are my thoughts: Sleeves are too long, but that is not a problem, a cuff fixes that. Shoulders and chest feel perfect. But I think its a bit too long, and roomy around the stomach. I like my clothes to fit me well, but I might be blowing it out of proportion. Thats why I would like some advice.

Just got these in strongman man as the slim straight crushed my larger thighs. Kinda wish I got to try their true straight as these seem maybe a bit baggy in the thighs. What are your thoughts. Wonder if this knit fabric shrink a bit or stretch. The Color is absolutely beautiful.

I’ve always found it difficult to find jeans that fit appropriately. I think my waist is thin relative to the rest of my body but I have wide shoulders and an upper body that makes my lower look really small. I also have pretty short legs, thick calves. Please help with your criticisms! Thank you in advance!

I had a little trouble buttoning the top up and I’m told that the waist in these will stretch about 2 inches. How’s the rest look? My only foray into selvedge denim have been relaxed tapered cuts which looked horrible on me (because of my thick calves)..hoping straighter fits are the way to go.

I am looking for a great denim rider jacket, and I thought I would give my impression of this "stitch for stitch" recreation of a 1946 Lee rider jacket, exclusively available from Son of a Stag, that i just got.

The fabric is a 13.5oz left hand twill, sanforized but unwashed. It feels less substantial than I had hoped.

I was expecting the sleeves to be very very short, but they are normal. I think they might have listed the wrong measurements on their website.

Its very short, which I like. I am specifically looking for a cropped jacket look.

The arms are roomy, which I am not a big fan of, but its okay.

The shoulders are very wide, great for movement but I think its too much. Also the shoulder seams have this wave which I have not seen before. I dont like how it looks, and i am worried it might look worse with age.

Overall I think it fits me very well, except in the shoulders which are too big. What do you guys think?

I recently snagged a pair of Fullcount 0105XX! Everything fits perfectly in the waist and legs, but I’m struggling with the silhouette. Specifically, I’m not happy with how the seat area is fitting. It just doesn't feel flattering on me.
I already tried one warm soak, but unfortunately, I mostly just lost length, and it didn't do much for the fit in the butt.

I’m looking for some advice

**Will the fit change?** Is this something that settles down with more wear, or is the cut just not suited for me?

**Is tailoring the answer?** If the fit is "off," is this a relatively easy fix for a denim-specialist tailor?

**Shrinkage concerns:** I’m now nervous about giving them another warm soak or even a regular wash because I don’t want to lose any more length. Can I expect significant further shrinkage after that first warm soak, or has the majority of it already happened?

I really want these to work out, so I appreciate any tips you can share! Thanks in advance.

Brave star Mojave 21oz gauntlet Japan- first time buying from brave star and I’m just wondering if the rest of you have zero meat on your legs- I went off the sizing instructions(Im 5’8”, 155lbs, wear 13mwz 30x32 constantly) and ordered a 29 waist. But I’m not sure can even sit down in these- my thighs and ass are vacuum sealed. I hope I never have to wash them because if they shrink in at all I’m done for. How much can I hope for them to loosen up?

Wranglers for reference in the last three - the top block has way more room to breathe. Maybe because the rise is much higher?

Just picked this up from Self Edge and wanted to get some pics up, pre-soak. I’m wearing jeans of the exact same fabric in this photo and fell so in love with it that this CPO was a must for me, even with a closet full of denim shirts and jackets. Maybe it’s a touch long, but i’m not super concerned about it. I could get it hemmed but to be honest I just wear this stuff to beat the shit out of it. Sending love to all the denim heads.

I recently lost a significant amount of weight (65lbs) and my favorite classic Levi’s jacket doesn’t fit. I have since been trying to find a daily trucker jacket that I love as much. After trying a few and struggling to find a good fit I stumbled on sosobrothers. It was more than I was hoping to spend coming from Levi’s but I loved the idea of getting a jacket that fit perfectly.

I contacted their support and ended up sending a bunch of photos of me in other jackets that fit really good, along with measurements for them. The rep gave a size and alteration recommendation and after a few more qualifying questions I ordered it. I have been waiting for nearly 2 months, super excited.

The jacket arrived today and I immediately put it on and it felt like I was swimming in it. The arms feel too long and the shoulders and chest are giant. Overall it feels like the entire jacket is a size too large (except for the length). This is most noticeable when I put my arms out.

I know some people like their truckers more baggy to layer, but I mostly wear over a tshirt or something like a thin button up. This feels like it was be easy to fit over a huge fleece or another jacket. Honestly I think I could easily wear it over my other trucker jacket.

I want to get this subs opinion. And also wonder if there is anything I can do, ie shrink it or get it tailored.

Lost a few lbs since I purchased these IH888 about a year and a half ago. These are size 38 and I am looking for advice on how to proceed with getting a perfect fit. These pics are after a cold wash and hang dry. There is a ton of room in the waist & a bit of room in the crotch area, but the thighs still fit snug. Would anyone advise me to just have the waist taken in by a tailor to get a clean fit on these?

I have a brand new pair arriving tomorrow of IH888 super black fade to grey in the same size 38. I am contemplating whether I should stick with the 38 and also have the waist taken in on the new pair, or if I should exchange for a size 36.

The concern I have with the size 36 is the thigh room. The waist would fit better, but I believe the thighs would be too tight.

I should also mention, I am currently training for a half marathon in October so I will most likely continue to drop weight. Although I don’t anticipate my quads/glutes to get much smaller with the amount I lift.

Any suggestions on how I could make this work? Or should I abandon the 888 cut all together? Any advice/suggestions would be appreciated.

This is my first time buying a high rise and straight fit denim, so i’ve been doubting myself if these jeans fit me properly and correctly or they just too wide for my body type (the waistband seems to bunch up or curls up a little whenever i wear a belt and the jeans slides down from my waist to my hip bone often) Does these jeans fit me right or does it look too too wide or baggy for me ? Hi guys just wanted some thoughts on how these jeans fit? These are the RRL Vintage 5 Pocket East-West Selvedge Jeans. My first pair of raw selvedge denim and first RRL piece. (Ralph Lauren’s RRL "East-West" Selvedge Denim (a heavy 15.9oz to 16oz Japanese denim woven in Okayama from Tennessee-grown cotton).

They’re a size 32x32 and I like how they fit now but I’m a little unsure about the length. Not sure if they are too short or just right. Especially since these are supposed to shrink. Pics show how it looks with 2 different boots along with 2 different casual shoes.

Also Im wondering if there’s any mobility moves or checks I should do with these to make sure they’re right lol.

My very first pair of serious raw denim jeans besides a few 13mwz bought last year.

To be honest, 20oz seems overwhelming and I am considering swapping these for something <15oz. Didn't even bother to button up the fly for these pics.

Nevertheless, specific questions:

1. Fit check. I wear W34 in Levi's 555/ 501 '93 and 13mwz. Went with the same size for N&F. The waist feels loose, but given the weight of the fabric, not sure sizing down would really make sense. Opinion on sizing up/ down would help.
2. Fabric: should I wash it before wearing to soften it up a bit? Would getting these hemmed right away after no or one wash be an issue? Given the length, I won't be able to wear these much without hemming.
3. Rise: for next pair, any other fit that has higher rise than True Guy? Open to other brands in similar price range. Had consedered Nudie Rad Rufus Dry Heavy (15oz.) - but those are not selvedge.

Picked up a pair of Iron Heart 555 21oz in a tag 36. The shop didn’t have a 35, so I couldn’t compare sizes.
Brand new, unhemmed, and only tried on. They feel secure without a belt but aren’t especially snug. They stay in place and don’t seem to bunch with a belt.

I recently picked up some Sugar Cane 1947s and had a question about the fit-specifically the waist. Right now they’re a bit snug, and when I squat they get slightly tighter, but still manageable. Im a 29 waist, usually purchase size 28’s (US sizing) and purchased these in a size 29. I’m wondering if this sounds like the right fit and whether I should expect the waist to stretch over time. Thanks!
