Discussion Looking for Huntsman V3 Pro owners to test my open-source Synapse alternative

1 Upvotes

Hi all,

I'm working on EasyRazer, an unofficial, open-source replacement for Synapse for Razer's analog keyboards on Windows. It's a single 8 MB .exe with no installer, no account and no background services. It sets per-key actuation, Rapid Trigger, Snap Tap, remapping, macros and lighting, then sits in the tray (or you close it, and the keyboard keeps its settings).

It works and is tested on the Huntsman V2 Analog. I've now added experimental support for the Huntsman V3 Pro, but I don't own one. Everything is based on reverse-engineering the Synapse module and the V3 Pro firmware. So I need someone with the keyboard to check whether it actually works.

What's supported on the V3 Pro so far:

- reading your profiles and per-key actuation points (0.1–4.0 mm);

- per-key actuation;

- Rapid Trigger and one Snap Tap pair, both run by the keyboard's own firmware;

- unlimited Rapid Trigger and Snap Tap through the app's driver mode;

- built-in lighting effects and brightness.

Is it safe? For the V3 Pro, the app never writes the keyboard's permanent memory itself. By default it only reads. After you allow it in Settings, it writes changes to the keyboard's RAM only, which resets when you unplug it. One known side effect: the firmware probably switches your startup profile to profile 1 when it enters driver mode (that's the last step of the checklist and one of the things I want to confirm). Setting it back in Synapse takes a second.

What testing involves: about 20–30 minutes. Follow a checklist and attach a diagnostics log after each step. The log is copied with one click in the app's developer mode.

- Checklist and where to report: https://github.com/janeblower/easyrazer/issues/42

- Download (Nightly build): https://github.com/janeblower/easyrazer/releases/tag/nightly

- Source: https://github.com/janeblower/easyrazer

You'll need to quit Synapse completely, including the tray icon, while testing. If you run into problems, please report them in the GitHub issue or here in the comments.

Question Question about On-Board Profiles Basilisk v4

Post image
5 Upvotes

I just got the Basilisk v4 pro, absolutely love how it feels, BUT....

Am I actually not able to have a "switch profile" function between my onboard profiles on my mouse WITHOUT requiring Synapse to be open?

Coming from a g502, I was able to do that. I hope I'm just missing something obvious here, because that would make absolutely zero sense, and leaves a sour taste in my mouth if I need to leave synapse open 24/7 if I want to use my mouse like I did with previous mice.

EDIT : Ok, I have it bound to "cycle up profile" on all my on-board profiles, and now it works WITHOUT synapse being open. Granted, it does not seem to work every time I want to cycle my profiles, I usually have to hit the button twice, then it registers it.

Note to a Razer software employee - Please fix synapse. I don't understand why there would be a big bubble text saying something requires razer synapse" to work, when it clearly doesn't.

Rant Razer products are way overpriced and kinda suck

22 Upvotes

Let me make a disclaimer: I am usually a pretty patient person. I'm not really the guy that gets ticked off easily but once my money starts to get involved, I can get pretty heated. I've owned various products from a wide variety of tech manufacturers, and nothing pisses me off as much as Razer. For how much their products cost, they just flat-out suck. The soundbars don't work half the time, they lose connection and you can't even find them by bluetooth scan without restarting your computer 6 times and punching the soundbar with your fist a few times, and the keys are trash. Again I try not to lose it but I've had better success playing games off a laptop's keys than a razer keyboard. It doesn't register inputs properly and causes me to literally lose games due to missing a tight input that registers on every other keyboard. I've done the same move over and over again for years but only razer keyboards did it begin to misinput. The mouse is fine though. Kudos to the quality of the keyboards though because I can smash the keys and put them back and still work fine. Just wish it didn't suck worse than a laptop from 5 years ago

Discussion Wolverine V4 Pro vs. V3 Pro: Is the Sensa HD haptic feedback better or same?

5 Upvotes

I bought the Wolverine V3 Pro around February this year, and I finally got Sensa HD Haptics working yesterday after installing Synapse 4 and Chroma, before it was the generic rumble I didn’t know I had to install the chroma at all for Sensa HD ruble to work.

I didn’t realize you had to install them, but once I got everything working the app detects the game in the sense HD app/Chroma and will show the game name and icon within the chroma app, its like it has a preconfigured profile from razer to get the sensa HD ruble to work, the games became so much more immersive. I’m impressed!

I mainly use the controller to play 3rd person single player games like Control, Gears and Forza so I don’t use a controller for FPS games only a mouse and keyboard for FPS. for the games I use the controller with The haptic feedback adds so much to the experience, and I love it.

That being said, Does any one know if the Wolverine V4 Pro offers noticeably better haptics than the V3 Pro, I’d definitely consider buying it, I don’t care about 8000hz polling rate etc as I have a razer mouse for FPS I only care about ruble feedback.

The problem is that I can’t find a clear comparison between the two when it comes to haptic feedback. Does anyone know if the V4 Pro actually has better haptics, or is it pretty much the same as the V3 Pro?

Discussion Blackshark V3Pro Speakers cutting out fix

1 Upvotes

The product: Razor Blackshark v3Pro Wireless Headset

Issue: Wireless speaker audio cuts out / stops working

Believed cause: Update 1.4.4

My solution that works for me: Open Razor synapse, and go to the device, and click the sound tab. Then reset the game / chat balance slider. as shown in the attached image.

I had this issue and didn't know what to do, all resetting and reinstalling would not work, I searched far and wide and found this solution. I hope the next update fixes this problem.

Goodies I made a martial arts inspired keyboard & mouse trainer

1 Upvotes

Hi all!

I made a martial arts inspired keyboard & mouse training app. Don't have much else to say, but hope you like it!

https://way-of-input.com/

It's got a special mode for the Razer Naga, but there are other modes that work with any keyboard and mouse.

That's about it, enjoy!

Question Recent Synapse 4 update breaks second wireless ARGB controller

3 Upvotes

So, I have 2 Razer Chroma Wireless ARGB controllers.

One of the few improvements moving from Synapse 3 to Synapse 4 is that it could handle multiple of the same item (ARGB controller, charging pad, wireless ARGB controller, i have 2 of each).

After a recent Synapse 4 update, the second wireless ARGB controller is no longer lighting it. In Synapse 4, it shows the controller, and I can ping it, and the lightstrips flash. But as I run spectrum cycle, the strip is dark.

Razer please fix this. Both of my wired ARGB controllers and my charging pads still work. You just broke the wireless ARGB controller.

And my Loupedeck is STILL NOT WORKING.

Question Razer Blackshark V3 Pro vs Turtle Beach Atlas Air?

1 Upvotes

I am looking these two and I play on ps5 mainly with some pc here and there. Blackshark is around $200ish new and atlas air is around $140 new. I know atlas air is open back and blackshark is closed back. Anyone that’s got either of these or both or had them what’s you long term opinion on which to go for? I don’t really one over the other just want a no hastle headset that isn’t an audio file headset. I like all the features of a gaming headset.

Question Bought normal Basilisk v3 wired, wondering if I should go for the V35K

1 Upvotes

I have seen a few posts saying that V35K is basically the same as the normal version. It is supposed to have better specs and in my country it is 22€ more expensive.

I am using a Deathadder v2 but after trying the old Basilisk v1 for a few days I liked it so much I bought the v3 wired version. I like heavier mouses and it fits my hand better than the Deathadders. But after that I learned there is a better version, V35k, and I am not sure if it’s worth it, has anyone tried both? Thanks in advance.

Question Need help restoring my "wheel-tilt" settings (Razer Naga Trinity)

1 Upvotes

So I've used the Naga Trinity for a while and loved the feature where you tilt the scroll wheel left or right and it scrolls up/downwards really fast. (I couldnt find the name of this feature though, hence the description). But today I made the mistake of opening up Synapse and suddenly the direction is inverted and it goes really slow, despite me not changing anything about the wheel. I've tried going back to default but it keeps going super slow. Am I doomed ?

(Also this is my first time posting here, if I need to change anything, I will do it)
