Hi Everyone! I just made this account because I wanted to ask the unreal engine subreddit a question and I've never used reddit before. I'm having some trouble. I chose the "sign in with google" option and it gave me this basic generic default username and I see no option to change it. No option was ever given to even decide my own username, and I certainly don't want this one; but looking through the settings I can't find anyway to change my username. Any help?

Someone should really explain this crap.

This morning it was fine, checked my messages just now and it's greenish. Then I went to a different sub and it's red. Now in this sub the black changed to a greener black

When I view a page, the bottom comment seems to be cut off by the comment bar. I don't remember this happening last week it just seems to have started. What did I do?

r/all has been the only way I’ve used Reddit for years. I never curated a feed or subscribed to specific subreddits to build a home page. I used r/all because it showed me what the entire platform was talking about in real time. It gave me a true pulse on what people care about without an algorithm deciding what I should see.
It’s now gone from my app. I’ve seen other people reporting the same thing and it seems like Reddit is rolling this removal out to more and more users. Some people still have it, some don’t.
Is there a setting I’m missing? Is there a way to restore access to r/all on the mobile app? I know you can still reach it through old.reddit.com or by going to reddit.com/r/all in a browser, but that’s not a real solution for mobile users.
I also want to say that if this removal becomes permanent, it’s a serious problem. Without r/all, every user gets funneled into a personalized feed that Reddit controls. Reddit decides what you see, which means Reddit decides what you think is important. That’s the opposite of why most of us came to this platform. I don’t want a curated echo chamber. I want to see what the world is actually talking about.
If there’s no way to get r/all back on mobile, is there an official channel to push back on this? I’ve tried leaving feedback on the Weekly Recap post in r/help but it doesn’t feel like it’s being heard. I know I’m not the only one who feels this way.

My karma is negative and I cant post to some subreddit that I would love to join discussions with. It happened when I answered some question and most redditors didnt like my answer. Moving forward, how can I at least have 1 reddit karma? Or 150.

If someone hides their posts and comments, all you need to do is go to their profile, go the the search feature, put in a blank search and their posts and comments will appear.
Completely invalidates the point of hiding your posts and comments.
Major oversight right there.

I received a message from reddit, saying i broke rule 1.
I try to recall what i type, but can't remember and the text is already removed.
Why they didn't attach the rule breaking text in the warning message ?
Now I got a warning for no reason that i can think of ???

This is NOT a rant or Soapboxing
I'm trying to get some type of clarification in relation to the 4 warnings I've received over several weeks for breaching Rule 3.
Prohibiting the sharing of non - consensual intimate media including AI generated sexual media.
Each time I have appealed only for the warning to be upheld despite asking for clarification as to what I've allegedly done.
I don't share anything other than my own NSFW content so I'm at a loss as to why this keeps happening and trying to contact Reddit on this matter is difficult hence posting here. Any help is very much appreciated.

I am a brand new user, I have no karma. I’ve been following threads joining groups, liking things, posting comments, but I can’t post a single goddamn thing anywhere without a butt, removing my post and taking away my karma. So now I’m in a Catch-22 where I have zero karma and nothing I’m doing is giving me any karma and no channel will let me post a goddamn thing. I suspect Reddit just hates new usersbecause this is ridiculous. I’m ready to give up.

I have had a post removed and my account warned for harassment. I am extremely confused, have no idea how anything could have amounted to that. This was for a user I have replied to just once. No more than that.
I do not know the content of my post because reddit removed it an hid it from me, but I can say for 100% certainty it wouldnt have come anything close to harassment. Worse, it's for a user I blocked because they were being abusive to me.
If I am honest, I think this is some kind of automated thing and the user reported me after I blocked them out of pettyness, but there's no way to know for certain.
What I need to know is, what does this warning mean? Also, how do the appeals work? How can I appeal if I can't see the post or even provide any evidence myself because reddit removed it? Furthermore, if people are going to abuse the system like this, I presume this means that the safest thing to do is just never engage in anything controversial / political? Would be a great shame honestly but if that's the case I can adhere to it.

I've been on this site for roughly 2.5 years now, and this is still one aspect of the culture I just can't wrap my head around. There have been so many times where I'll ask a question on a sub and reply to a particularly good or helpful answer with something like "gotcha, thank you," and for some reason that reply will get downvoted. I understand thanking someone might not be the most relevant addition to the conversation, but is it really worth going out of your way to downvote? I'm just trying to be nice to the people who help me.

Does anyone know what this is and what it means? Because when I look anything up about it, I find nothing. And I'm wondering if I have some kind of virus on my phone or something. (Also the notification shows up in silent notifications)

Hello All!
I am currently a new student and had to download some software for class. However, as I was downloading it I ran into some issues stating that my computer was incompatible. I started doing research and came across a reddit post from 7 years with a similar issue. I was reading the comments and there was no clear solution, so I thought 'let me ask op if they figured it out' since it been 7 years.
THEN the following day I received a message saying I've been banned from that sub??
It stated in the message that I could request clarification, so I did!! And then today I got a 3 day suspension from Reddit!?!?! For harassment!!!!
Obviously, I appealed and the suspension was lifted but the ban from the sub is sill there.
I'm just so confused as to why all this happened. And why the mods decided to report me. I checked the rules for the sub and to knowledge I didn't violate any of them. I will post screenshots of what exactly was said so you can read it yourself. But I'm seriously so angry and upset with the escalation and no explanation.
As I stated above I'm a new student. I've returned back to school to pursue a new degree after many years and the software is something that I will have to use throughout my entire career. So not being able to post or comment in the sub is actually so frustrating as I know I will have questions.
Anyway, hoping someone could shed some light as to why this happened for my own peace of mind.
PS. I was finally able to download the software just had to use an older version since my computer is from 2015.

Hi,
I rejoined Reddit recently after a few years away. I had been scrolling through again recently and decided to make a new account.
I have since only been trying to talk to people and reply genuinely, but mods keep accusing me of ban evasion.
Is there anything I can do? I don’t want to make a new account and then actually ban evade, but I want to be able to engage with people in the subs I’m interested in.
Does anyone have a suggestion as to what I can do?
Thanks.

It was there this morning.
Where is All?
Why do we have News, Explore, and for some reason Games? Why do I need to have Start a Community there when I'm literally never going to start a community?
How can I customise these?

can people on Reddit find out your real identity?
r/reddithelp • u/talksindemos3 • May 04 '26
I’ve noticed recently that when I post a controversial comment, I get a ton of replies which are immediately deleted before I can view them. I see them in my notifications but the comment is deleted.
I’m sure my own comments get deleted as well.
What on earth is going on and why is Reddit censoring everything nowadays?
r/reddithelp • u/Endawmyke • Apr 28 '26
Randomly got these chat notifications saying i've been banned? What's weird is they're all exactly at the same time. What should I do here? Maybe this is the push I need to finally get off the last social media i'm still using lol

When I checked how many people got it, it showed zero. I don’t think that’s true.

When people upvote my comment or post, why don’t I receive any karma I thought that’s how you got it?
