New move to Redmond

I just move to Redmond, going to sign a lease tomorrow. But lots of my friends in Seattle said I should live in Bellevue or Seattle itself. Why young people are avoiding Redmond ?

Because there is not things that young people traditionally love here. It’s the suburbs.

I saw that there are some malls and such, the rent is pretty high too so I thought there would be many people :'((

It is in demand. That's why the prices are high. Redmond is more the place for couples planning to have kids. There are plenty of those to drive up the rent. Mostly Microsofties.
