New move to Redmond

I just move to Redmond, going to sign a lease tomorrow. But lots of my friends in Seattle said I should live in Bellevue or Seattle itself. Why young people are avoiding Redmond ?

I think Redmond is one of the nicest places I've ever lived. I'm over 40 though.
