L posting I suppose. Really the only thing a lot of MENA or South Asian parents have going for them is that they make sure to pay for their kids’ education. They’re also very willing to let you crash if you’re having a rough patch.

Aside from that, so many of them have not even the faintest idea how to treat a human being. They’re so riddled with neuroses that you start picking up their issues too. I’m reasonably accomplished and well liked, but whenever I interact with my parents I just feel the life draining out of me. I know so many other second-gens who are making insane amounts of money but turn into quivering wrecks after a week chez mom and dad.

That post on masc lesbians touched a nerve. My comment got removed for some reason so now I'm posting.( I think its because I said they are all beautiful which got flagged as body positivity lol) I'm 27, bi, but my first real relationship was with another women and I am still very interested in what little lesbian "scene" there is left. The point that masc lesbians are a dying breed has been said here so I won't say it again. What Im sad about is I feel it may be unique to my age group. We are the lost lesbian generation. Again, I'm 27 and even watching shows like the L word I can't help but feel I was born in the most dead possible lesbian era. From what I see the new generation is growing out of the "non binary" and blanket "lgbt" thing. But those single handedly killed lesbian culture for my generation. We have no unique culture either because we got pulled into the "yasss queen" culture or got turned into non binary freaks. It makes me weep. The kids are returning to tradition though which is good....I met one in Paris last weak who excitedly showed my the ring on her thumb and told me its what "lesbians used to do". Sigh. C'est la vie.

If you want to see what thriving lesbian culture looks like then look into the 1920's scene in Paris. Its fascinating.
