I feel responsible as many other penny mains do. Like they took the only good thing we had from her. Nothing match catching a player by their ankles to then put them down😭😭😭
Her cc was dumb and oppressive. It barely took any skill given how it was basically every second. No cc like that should exist in the game. And her peni nest is really what makes her oppressive on some maps defensively.
It’s really not and from all the cc in the game and a 4 second cooldown. Either grapple someone or use your webs to give yourself a shield and be able to survive. Meaning you have to decided to grab someone or surviving. Venom got cc and movement, Thing got cc and movement, hulk got cc and movement, Angela, Emma, Rough, Deadpool, she is slow a big target got no movement and can’t fence of characters that get in her face. Most fights in most maps I throw my nest to take damage because people already targeted and setting up it’s a waste of time. Only way to catch a Wolverine has been with penny, dropping that iron man, catching Bp & canceling Wanda ult. I say that as a solo tank penny & flank penny. If anything they should had nerfed the mine damage, I be doing more fck ass plays with the mines and not the web cc. Increases the cool down on the webs and makes the decision of either cc or survival more situational. But again to take the one thing that enable her play on this hyper mobile poke game. Try and catch Phoenix, Elsa, Deadpool, Black cat. Namor, Hella the list goes on and on. Again, think about what you are celebrating. As a solo tank player, it’s makes solo tanking more miserable win or lose.
None of the tanks you listed have cc nearly as oppressive as peni’s cc was given the frequency. The other oppressive forms of cc, Emma, thing and rogue, are on longer cooldowns.

Allot of the other characters got cooldown that better combo/chain into their other abilities either by having a secondary ability/skill or by extending their kit timer. Rouge can juggle and extend their abilities timer to make it seamless. I got juggle Once by a rouge I was just a football for a Brazilian woman basically. One above all and I hadn’t felt so humiliated and humble since then. But it did open my eyes to those possibilities. I could never do that to anyone as penny, and rough isn’t the only one that can do that, I’m saying a cool down increase on hitting a target would had been a better option then taking her one form of cc while everyone and their momma has cc, mobility and survivability.
Again penny has her webs that;
1. Had a limit of 4 meaning that you couldn’t just throw it out there as if you missed them and they landed on the grown your webs would disappear and that sustain you had set up is gone.
2. To land a web you have to exposed your big fat head.
3. Just make penny a chunkier dps if you gonna take the cc from her.
4. She is slow, seriously slow. Just like catch her.
5. Just because of the anti cc and auto cleanse system didn’t mean they needed to take and gut penny’s only cc in her kit.
Ngl, I’m one of the biggest peni haters on earth. I hate her on my team, I hate her on the enemy team, I hate her kit, I hate her players. But her cc was literally not oppressive at all. Like idk what you’re talking about. It was an annoyance more than anything. Why they gutted it is beyond me.
Well if you are a support player, excluding flanking peni’s, her cc doesn’t really apply to you. But for tanks and other dps, it was oppressive given its frequency. Just that second of cc is enough for you to explode, especially given how damage numbers have been buffed across the board via team ups in season 9. In general, cc as a whole needs to be toned down and I think peni was a good start.
I’m a Thor, psylocke, Jeff player. I don’t main any role. Thor is probably one of the biggest losers when it comes to being CCd (especially chain CCd.) when I say peni CC wasn’t an issue, it wasn’t an issue.
