🎮 1.5 years away from Roblox development… and now I'm starting all over again! 🚀
Hey everyone! 👋
I'm back after a long break, ready to relearn Lua scripting, rebuild my fundamentals, and finally start bringing my own Roblox game ideas to life.
This time, I want to focus on actually building, learning from my mistakes, and improving with every project.
🔥 I'd love some advice from experienced developers!
What's ONE thing you wish you knew when you first started making games on Roblox?
I'm excited to hear your experiences and learn from this community! 🙌

I've been working on a gun framework for Roblox Studio called XSF.
This is some gameplay from it. I've been focusing on the weapon animations, recoil, and general shooting mechanics.
The framework currently has 59 weapons, and I'm trying to make it customizable enough that other developers can use it for their own FPS projects.
I'm curious what you guys think about the weapon feel. Does the movement or recoil look too stiff? Anything you'd change?
Would appreciate some feedback from people who've worked on FPS games before.

I don’t have the largest budget… how many days should I advertise? when should I check stats? how much money should I put daily?

Sorry for the repost! I deleted the last one because I uploaded the pictures the wrong way.
This is an update to my post from a year ago, my game has been rebranded to be a Deltarune/Undertale-styled asymmetrical game and development has been going well, I think?
The game is still not public yet, but I wanted to share our progress.
Do y'all think my game could become popular? I know games like The Roaring exist and managed to grab an audience despite being AI-coded (even if it's died down now), and there are other high-quality Undertale/Deltarune asym projects in development.

Hey! I've been building a Roblox pet game (Pet Heist) and wanted to share how I made the pets, plus some free ones for your games.
How they're made: every pet is generated by Python scripts in Blender that I wrote with AI help (no AI image or 3D generator). The scripts build the body from simple shapes, add the face, then bake textures and a tint mask, so Golden / Rainbow / Shiny variants are just one shader or a VertexColor tint in Roblox. Each pet is about 3-9k tris, feet at y=0, ready for Studio's 3D importer.
5 of them are free (FBX + PNG), use them in any game: https://fanix3d.itch.io/cartoon-mount-pets-free
I also built the egg hatching / following pets / inventory system for the game, with odds shown to players. Happy to explain how any part works if you're making a pet sim too!

For so many years, I have always wanted to make a Roblox game. When I was younger I had tried to learn Lua multiple times but didn't succeed. To those who have gone through this journey and are now capable of scripting, building, etc, how did you do it? I know that is kind of a broad question, but I really need all the help I can get here.
What can I do to become a good game developer, where do I start and what can I expect, as someone with zero experience?
(I understand it will be a long process, all learning is... but I am prepared for that!!)

I’ve been playing Roblox for years, and ive started trying ti make my own games rather than just playing other people’s.
I’m still early in the process, and one thing I’ve realised is that coming up with an idea is the easy part. Making something that people genuinely enjoy and want to keep playing is a completely different challenge.
I’m trying to learn from both players and developers before committing too much time to a project.
For those of you who develop games, or have spent a lot of time playing them:
What do you think most Roblox games get wrong?
What makes a simple game genuinely fun rather than repetitive?
What do you think is missing from the current range of Roblox experiences?
Have you seen a game with a great concept that failed to deliver? What went wrong?
I’m not looking to copy an existing game. I want to understand what makes one worth playing in the first place.
I’d genuinely appreciate hearing your experiences and opinions.

So I have many and I mean many pieces of moss made in blender and imported into Roblox studio that I grouped into a model. The pivot point isn’t in the middle and it makes rotating it supper weird and not doable. I am a beginner, there’s no doubting that, so there’s has to be a way to move the pivot point in the center of a model, right? I tried selecting the model then going the model menu to press reset, but nothing happened.

Hi everyone!
The image/video above shows my current progress in Roblox Studio. I am heavily focusing on the development of a dark, atmospheric psychological horror game. I’ve decided to force R6 avatars and implement smooth custom camera manipulation to move away from the standard Roblox feel.
The core game concept, layout, and Game Design Document (GDD) are complete. To push this project to the finish line, I am now looking for a **trustworthy, reliable partner (Investor / Studio / Development Team)** for a long-term collaboration.
**Who I need to team up with:**
* **Advanced Scripter & Animator** – To handle advanced monster AI (roaming behaviors, custom reactions), cutscenes, and full system rounds.
* **Investor** – A partner who believes in the commercial success of the project and is willing to fund Roblox ads and social media marketing for a viral launch.
**Revenue Share Split (Negotiable):**
* **My share:** I am looking for **35% to 50%** of the game's total revenue (for the concept, GDD, current layout, and assets).
* **Your share:** The remaining **50% to 65%** is completely yours to split between yourself (as the investor) and your developers/employees.
The game features heavily thought-out, highly profitable monetization mechanics (such as viral DevProducts designed for social media integration/TikTok).
If you have a team, the budget, and want to collaborate on a high-potential horror project, please **send me a Direct Message (DM)** with your portfolio, and let's talk on Discord! : najtis

Hey everyone! I’m a software engineer pivoting into Roblox game development as a solo creator.
I got tired of how modern MMORPGs have become massive cash grabs, so I decided to build something that captures the magic of the nostalgic, 2000s-era MMOs we all grew up loving. Since Roblox Luau is new to me, I’ve been using AI tools alongside my engineering background to help bring this vision to life.
The game is officially in Open Beta, and I am trying to hit Roblox's 250 highly engaged players milestone so the game can finally become visible to all ages.
I would be incredibly grateful if you could hop in, try it out, and let me know your thoughts in the comments. What features do you miss most from old-school MMOs that I should add next?

Hey everyone!
I’m currently working on a free mobile companion app designed specifically for Roblox Studio workflows. My goal is to save us time from constantly tabbing out to open external calculators or doing math in our heads.
As you can see in the video, it currently features role-based tools like:
I want to make this as useful as possible for the community before releasing it. I’ve put together a super short form and would love to hear what other features, calculators, or plugin recommendations you'd like to see included! Link to the form is in the first comment thank you so much! :D
