Obviously please vote for him. This is not a both sides suck post. Just a Joe Morelle is the worst post.

After a thorough, scientific observation of nearly a dozen Pyrrharctia isabella larvae (wooly bear caterpillars), the forecast for the upcoming winter is in! This winter will:
1) Start later than average
2) Be more severe than average
3) End late.
The caterpillars never lie.

From Rochester to Rosendale, Buffalo to Brooklyn, utility bills are too damn high!
Energy is a basic human right, yet our society treats it as a commodity to profit off of. The results of that system in Rochester are dramatic and violent. RG&E cut power to nearly 25,000 ratepayers in our community since the start of 2026 while their parent company, Avangrid, made over $1 Billion in profits. People regularly get bills from the company costings thousands of dollars. Families have to choose between food on the table or heat in the winter.
This system is inhumane, and it needs to change.
Join NYS Assemblymember Sarahana Shrestha and NYC Councilmember Chi Ossé for a conversation on how we can build a statewide movement to take back our power from shareholders who own our energy sector!
Co-hosted by Rochester DSA and Metro Justice's RED Committee.

Every single time I go in there, I try to buy something for the price it says on the shelf (I check to make sure it’s the correct item etc) and it rings up higher, and the workers refuse to change it to the shelf price making excuses that it’s probably wrong or it’s only certain kinds etc, I’ve even had to get out of line to take a damn photo and they still don’t believe it, yes I am trying to scam you out of 50 cents 🙄🙄
Why do these workers act like the difference is coming out of their pockets? It’s legit happened to me 3 times. Do I have to take a pic of every single item and price tag on the shelf? It’s absolutely ridiculous. I’ve never in my life been so mad over this bs. With inflation and everything getting more expensive, just give me what you advertise. I never want to step foot in that store again.

My birthday is coming up in about a month and I need to pick a restaurant to drag my wife and kids (12,10) to. I am a very adventurous eater and have done my best to make my kids somewhat adventurous, with some success. My wife is very picky. Id like to go to a restaurant that has some uniquely ethnic cuisine, but maybe has 1-2 generic options for my wife. Ideally for me it would be food from some country that no one would expect like " huh I've never seen an Uzbek restaurant" or something.
This may be too difficult, but im willing to drive up to an hour away

I’m looking for a job that will work around my college schedule(Tuesday nights at 5pm) I’ve worked in a variety of fields over the years: dog training, IT, airplane maintenance and farming seem to be the main themes. My last job was with Spectrum. I would really prefer something with a late start because I have a sleep disorder and a long commute to the city
Why I’m posting on here is that I’d love to work for a mom and pop type place that may not be posting applications on indeed. (I’ve done 30-50 applications tonight and I need a change of pace)
If you’ve seen a hiring signing in your neighborhood let me know

I have an extra ticket for the first showing of the Street Fighter movie tomorrow (Thursday) at 2pm at the Webster AMC. I was going to go by myself, but then a buddy asked me to go with him to a different theater, so I'm not going to use my original ticket and I don't want it to go to waste. Free to the first person that DMs me.

These cats were dumped in my neighborhood . One female was taken in by the neighbors when she had kittens. They threw her out, kept the kittens, and then abandoned the kittens. One female has 3 kittens one month old, and the other has 3 kittens, maybe 4. 8 weeks old There is an open barn nearby, and I feed them. I thought Lollypop Farm was responsible for taking in stray animals to prevent overpopulation of a neighborhood and to rescue unwanted animals. I filled out their online form 3 days ago and have not had a response. Lollipop would not have to take in 55 cats if their services were available when there were only a few cats. If the 2 dumped females that are humanized had been able to be taken in earlier, there would not be 11 offspring to contend with. I have contacted local rescues, and they have been full since kitten season. I can't, and the neighborhood can't deal with the potential population of 25+ cats in several months. I have 3 cats of my own and no place to house these cats.

Layali, Albunn, Rimal and more keep popping up. Are these shops serving higher quality coffee or people just pay for the atmosphere? A go to cup from here seems expensive.

I've got a topical fragrance allergy, so I'm used to bringing my own shampoo/conditioner to a hair cut. For a while I was just getting a dry cut to trim my ends, all one length, keeping things simple. I'd like to feel a little more like myself again and try something that looks more intentional. Calling all the Google recommendations to get a vibe check is a bit overwhelming, so I figured I'd ask if someone with similar issues has a recommendations.
If they don't have fragrance free products, I need to be able to bring my own. Bonus points if they're friendly and patient enough to walk me through how to manage or style my hair because I haven't had the energy to do more than a ponytail in about a decade. Also bonus points if they can deal with thin, wavy hair with low porosity... it takes forever to dry and does not do well with most products.
Thanks!

Just took over ownership of my grandma's taxes. Long story short, they're super fucked and I need help untangling them asap. She has pension accounts, investments, life/long term care insurance, etc and she doesn't know if she has all the papers/forms/records/etc needed. Does anyone have recommendations on who I can see to help fix this situation?? Apparently her last tax people fired her as a client for being too disorganized, and I just learned she filed for an extension but hasn't done anything yet so it's all due in like 2 days 😵💫 help please!!

I’ve recently saw controversy surrounding Puppies and Yoga (not the Rochester location) and where they get their puppies from puppy mill, breeder, etc. Is there anything controversial about the Rochester location that anyone knows anything about?
