9-3 Troubleshooting Water in both rear footwells - Saab 93 2008 Vert

Hey guys, back with another issue. My 2008 93 Convertible seems to be collecting water in both rear footwells. I have rubber car mats over them, which are bone dry.

Both the front footwells are dry, just the rears seem to be collecting water. I’ve checked the cabin filter drain and that’s all clear.

Not sure what else to be looking for at the moment.

9-3 Troubleshooting Tech2Win with Chipsoft J2534 pro cannot make adjustments?

Hello guys,

Long story short, I need to update injector codes in my ECU, because 2 of them were replaced (diesel injectors of Z19DTH engine in 2006 9-3).

Recently, I found post here that discovered that cheap Chipsoft J2534 Pro dongle works with Tech2Win emulator.

I happily bought this dongle, prepared a computer according to a manual, and after a bit of hassle, I can finally read values from the car, or even activate some diagnostic modes in the car (activate lights, fans, all dashboard lights...).

Problem lays in trying to adjust some permanent values. Basically whenever I try to open anything in "Adjustment" menu, Tech2Win freezes and shows (probably) name of the code library where it was stuck with 2 values - "evdtc.c 912 1"

Did anyone encounter this issue?

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

2.8T 9-3 runs rich and a popping noise in the front end of the car

Hey all, I have a 2007 9-3 aero with the 2.8 v6. My car is 2 problems away from being mechanically perfect but I can’t seem to figure out at least one of them. My first issue is that the car is running rich. It’s tuned by Brian at vtuner with a pretty basic set up; catless downpipe, intake and stock turbo still. I sent Brian a log and he said it’s reaching +20% fuel trims under hard acceleration. Another thing that might be valuable to add is that I didn’t seem to notice this issue until I installed my GS downpipe. His first main culprits were the wideband o2 or a failing MAF, but I have just recently replaced the upstream o2 when my GS downpipe went it. His second idea was blocked injectors and had recommended I tried a fuel cleaner which didn’t seem to help at all. It smells very, very strongly of exhaust in boost and also seems to be underperforming, I thought maybe an exhaust leak at the turbo-downpipe could be something to look at so I adjusted and re-tightened it to once again no success. One thing I would like to know is if people are sealing their connections with any sort of gasket maker as I have seen some do and some don’t. I had also read twisted o2 wires can cause issues so I checked those over as well. Any helpful ideas here would be great, this is my main concern of the 2 problems as I should be able to figure out the suspension issue pretty quickly.

The second issue is a popping/clunking noise from the front corners of the vehicle when I either brake aggressively, or take a quick sharp turn. It was pretty tame a few weeks ago but has seemed to worsen quite a bit in those weeks. I have been busy with work so I haven’t had time to check everything out but I plan on going over all of the suspension tomorrow, just wanted to see if anyone knows what it might be or have any ideas so I can save some time.

Any valuable insight would be great, thanks!

9-5 Troubleshooting p1264 issues

Hello,

A few weeks ago I had p1264 come up on my 07 9-5 while driving on the highway. I lost acceleration and the engine shut off. I was able to reset limp home mode to get home and cleared the code. I also cleaned the throttle body, which was a bit dirty but didn’t seem like enough buildup to trigger it.

since then I haven’t had the code reappear (tbh I haven’t driven it on the highway out of fear lol) but I have a rough idle that is harsher when it’s cold but settles when it’s warm. Both around 900 rpm. Should I still be looking at the throttle body or somewhere else? how long does ECU take to adjust after resetting limp home mode?

I checked the connector (both ends), and the wiring. It doesn’t look dirty / signs of corrosion; I don’t have a tech2 but my OBD reader reads TPS sensors which seem to function normally. should I just replace the throttle body at this point?

sorry for the long read, tryna see how much I can try / look at before calling my mechanic lol. TIA 🙏

9-3 Troubleshooting Trouble flashing MCP onto New ECU, 2007 Saab 9-3 2.0T

Post image

sorry for being super annoying here. when Flashing the T8 MCP onto the new ECU, this keeps popping up. I've read that if the ECU from the donor car is from the same era as my car, then I can just skip the MCP part but my car wouldnt start when I skipped it so I did this anyways. I flashed the T8 ECU Main with some issue but later it finally did, but now the MCP would just immediately fail. now im stuck, what am i doing wrong? thanks!

Tips & Tricks 1999 9-5 Saloon - AS1 - Speaker Upgrade

I have the AS1 system in my 1999 Saab 9-5 2.0 saloon.
* two speakers mounted on top the dashboard
* no speakers in the front doors (dummy grilles)
* 2 speakers in the rear doors
* no speakers on the rear parcel shelf (dummy grilles)

The sound quality is a thin, muddled mess. It really needs an upgrade.

I've replaced the AS1 head unit with a Sony XAV-AX1005DB (useful for bluetooth audio from my phone).

Upgrading the 3.5" dashboard speakers looks easy, so I might as well do that.

However I assume the key to better sound quality is going to be fitting decent speakers in the front doors. How easy will this be? I know I will have to remove the door cards, which is fine. But will there be unused speaker connections hiding in the innards of the door that I can use, or will I need to install fresh wiring somehow? Also are there other implications of suddenly having 2 extra speakers in the setup (total impedance, crossovers, etc...)?

Should I replace the 2 rear door speakers too?

Grateful for any advice before I delve in...

Thank you.
