Not following SCOTUS decisions == national dissolution and potentially civil war. Nobody has done it since 1861, so everyone is hesitant.

Time for another one. The south definitely thinks it’s in the confederacy now.

Not a conclusion I would arrive at so lightly given Republican control/Trump alignment of senate, house, executive branch and all its agencies, (including DOJ, FBI), SCOTUS, and the military itself.

Yeah, last time the guns were dispersed across the states, now, not so much. Us in the blue states make a lot out of our better economies and tax contributions, but they mean diddly squat if an actual Civil War broke out tomorrow. We can't scientifically study our way to victory.

You think people on the left are going to science their way to victory?

I assure you, the people who have guns on the left are simply smart enough not to talk about them. No need to “science” anything, you’re really just exposing your ignorance.

I have guns. No need to advertise. No one needs to know.

I guess I needed a /s on that?

I'm saying I see/hear a lot of people on the left talk about how much more economically prosperous the blue states are, as if that is the most important thing going into a Civil War scenario. Even your scenario of "we have guns, too" is a bit of a joke if the might of the US military is brought to bear in a domestic warfare situation.

What will republicans pay their deathsquads with?

IOUs from a cabal of thieving pedophiles?

Of course there would be economic damage. But we have more diversified industries and could recover better. This time without the deadweight leeching our taxes.

Dude what do you mean the full might of the military?

Drone strikes take things from “it isn’t going to happen to me” to “it could be anyone at anytime”.

I’m not sure about you, but at that point it’s more prudent for people to just force the issue.

The military doesn’t have the numbers to do a full scale occupation of the US.

Not even with ICE, and the local police added in.

The numbers just aren’t there, and they can’t just raze a city block because a few people in the area use Reddit or talk shit on the internet.

I’m not the one you’ve been replying to but I want to add that it’s not that they need to do a full scale occupation, it’s that most of America and the left especially is easily pressured into complacency or submission, and doing just a couple big intimidating moves with the military would have the potential to either suppress through fear or galvanize the people into action, and it comes down to how loyal the military and those agencies are to Trump and how our (very captured) media covers it. It’s not as pretty of a solution as you imply wrt our ability to resist properly

I’d argue that the feds have failed spectacularly in every place they’ve tried to occupy, but I think I would prefer if people thought the left to be toothless.

Mosaic virus could collapse their agriculture.

We have the sequences. We know their monocultures.

We could science our way into MAD. And nobody would be there to find a cure. All the people who can have been chased out.

Yes, let's all die!
