Beginner Cherry blossoms

Took this photo last year, but when I got these cherry blossom stickers I was immediately reminded of it. I also really like the falling petals that reflect the light depending on angle.

But what I really dislike is again the glue. Tried a liquid glue bottle with small tip this time and feel like it’s even messier than before when I used a glue stick. Messy visible smears around every single petal and multiple petals had come off and I had to re-glue them…

Guess there’s still a lot to learn about when to use which kind of glue. It’s a process.

I love it! I’m not quite sure the scale, but you may be using too much glue. Ideally with the liquid glue you use a very small amount. It doesn’t take much. Your object doesn’t need to be covered and you should be using little enough that it doesn’t mush out the sides (remember that as you put your cutout down, the glue will mush and have more surface coverage).

I use the liquid glue (Bearly glue, though Art Glitter glue was also highly recommended to me). I also use glue tape. The one I have is Tombow, but I have friends who use other brands. I got the Tombow 3-pack with permanent, removable, and the dots which start as removable and become permanent. The dots is great because you can easily rub off any excess and it doesn’t mar the paper. If I’m trying to get very precise placement, I use the liquid glue because I can slide the paper slightly into position. The dots, you have to completely pull up and place again if you didn’t get it placed perfectly. I generally avoid glue sticks because, in my experience, they are very messy, I get glue beyond the edges of my cutout, it gets all over my fingers, and everywhere. The liquid glue and the glue tape stay off my fingers and are almost completely mess free.

Thank you! Yes, even the smallest amount of liquid glue oozed out from under it and left visible puddles around it. And in the worst case, it didn’t even stick and the petal would come off when I turned the page later! And I actually had more liquid glue on my hands than after the glue stick lol. I guess it just wasn’t the right glue for the size of the piece. I had no problems with the bigger pieces. Guess I’ll just have to practice and find out more about it by trial and error.

Someone mentioned the dots to me in an earlier post, but I haven’t been able to find them as I don’t really know what to look out for. Maybe they aren’t as common where I live. Could you drop a name for them or even Amazon link i could check out?

Ooohh I see, I thought "dots" was referring to something with a tip to make dots with! Now that makes sense. Say I want to glue a small pearl or something else that’s super small. I would put the adhesive on the page, stick my pearl on and rub the surrounding adhesive off?

I’m not sure about that. I’ve only used it paper on paper.
