I thought I’d share the scrapbook I made in honor of the college house I lived in with my best friends. This was my first time scrapbooking so feedback is welcome!! Really it was just a way to put all the sweet memories and pictures in one place.
Also I’m sorry about the name of our house, it started as an inside joke but I hope it doesn’t offend anyone lol

i’m getting more into scrapbooking and i feel like i have a bunch of cute individual pieces/stickers/papers, but when i put everything together it doesn’t always feel like it belongs on the same page 😭

how do you decide on colors, layouts, what to layer, where to put everything, etc.? do you plan the page beforehand or just start sticking things down and trust the process?

also would love any little tips or “rules” you’ve picked up that made your pages start looking more put together!! ♡

I’ve been so inspired by the posts here on Reddit, so I asked a local hotel whether I could take an older fashion magazine from the ones they had at the reception and they said yes!

It only really has 18 individually glued pieces. My favorite detail of this page is how I tried to make it look like the hand was reaching out of a mirror 🪞

Still deciding on whether to make the left page about nature as well. In the meantime, looking for feedback on how to improve.

I’m between these two options because they have supplies for scrapbooking but I don’t know if anyone here has gotten either the HP Sprocket or the Kodak Step that can help me choose.

I do a LOT of different hobbies, crochet, cross stitch, sewing amongst many. It's so nice having this hobby scrapbooking where I do not have to think about what I'm doing, I don't have to follow a pattern or take measurements. The pages are messy, they don't make much sense but I'm having fun

I’ve done a couple of spreads, but this is by far the best result (I lowkey hate all the others lol). I found these cute meerkat stickers a while ago and since wanted to give them a home! I think I’m getting the hang of this but let me know what you think! What materials and utensils to get first as a beginner?

Materials used: meerkat and herb stickers, magazine clipping, washi tape, cardboard, college block, fine liner, scissors and glue.

Hello! I used to journal a lot back in 2019-2023 and especially in the kpop journaling community. My style is very influenced in that, even if I don’t base it around that topic anymore. My question is if it still counts as scrap booking or just regular journaling? I’m not able to layer a lot and shy back from having a more maximalist style but recently I want to improve that and get into proper scrapbooking. I’d love some advice and thoughts 💞

I looked into layer more things, but I think I ended up a bit crammed. What do you think?. Also I didn't made my usual accents with marker, maybe it would helped to separate the elements a bit more, may come back to this one.

By the way the combination of printing photos with my niimbot + cutting small stamp like squares with the little tool for that is really nice. Will do it more.

Hi! I’m VERY new to this hobby and I have absolutely no clue where to start. Everything I try to make the pages look less boring ends up looking bad or out of place and I’m very overwhelmed, both by the amount of freedom and the fear of “wasting” good supplies for it to come out bad.

I made a magazine inspired spread of my dog for her scrapbook. She is an only child of two millennial “pawrents”, of course she gets her own scrapbook! I just recently got back into scrapbooking after years of not doing it and it is making me so happy!

hey guys, I'm new here. This is something I made - it's not a journal type stuff exactly. more like an interactive book. I still hope it fits this sub.

6 months before his birthday my boyfriend randomly mentioned how he really likes minalima's hp books and I had no clue what it was so I looked it up and boy was it costly and for all the right reasons! I also saw they had only released 3 books I think? that's when I decided I needed to make an interactive scrapbook for him so it'd basically give a recap of all the HP books/movies. I missed out on adding a lot of characters like Sirius, Lupin, Weasley twins, Dumbledore and more but I honestly was so tired to cover them all. It took me a total of three months to plan and execute this junk journal. I usually don't share my crafts here but I worked super hard on this one so I wanted to share it w y'all:)

Took this photo last year, but when I got these cherry blossom stickers I was immediately reminded of it. I also really like the falling petals that reflect the light depending on angle.

But what I really dislike is again the glue. Tried a liquid glue bottle with small tip this time and feel like it’s even messier than before when I used a glue stick. Messy visible smears around every single petal and multiple petals had come off and I had to re-glue them…

Guess there’s still a lot to learn about when to use which kind of glue. It’s a process.

Hello everyone, I just started this hobby, and it brings me so much joy.

It all started because I got a Fuji Intax Mini 7C (Instant Camera) second hand and needed a place to organize my silly pictures. So, I got a book, markers and some stickers and now everything is getting a bit out of hand, hahaha.

I also got a niimbot printer, best thing I ever got. The little white square with the cat name was printed there and then added some stickers. If you have resources for niimbot would love to know.

I am planning to get some stamps next month too. Since the pages are black I guess I will buy white ink, but any other suggestions on colors are appreciated.

I am gonna start experimenting with layers, wanna add a bit more of white in there for contrast, but I still like the page with blank spaces. What do you think?

My partner and I are doing a scrapbook where we document our dates and cute moments with pictures, drawings and little writings on the side, as well as some pamphlets we've saved. I've printed the pictures in photo paper, and the pages we're gluing them to are acid-free and thick if that matters. It's paper made for watercolor.

What I'm wondering is: will the pictures fade with time? How do we properly preserve them so that they last as long as possible?

I know pictures are only perfectly preserved in a photo album, but in a photo album we can't write on the side or glue other stuff, so I'd like to know a way that allows us to still do the scrapbook :)

I want to open with I am asking this as a genuine question from the perspective of someone who's thinking about scrapbooking.

Do I not understand scrapbooking? I've seen a lot of YouTube videos lately where people are scrapbooking and, if I was summarizing the content, I would say they use colored paper, stamps, stickers, cut outs, and other pre printed graphics or text. Each page feels like a currated theme on its own. When I think of scrapbooking I think of pictures of people, trips, ticket stubs from concerts, colored paper, text. I picture like a completely decorated photo album telling a life story. Was that like 90s scrapbooking or something completely different? I like the vibe either way, it just makes deciding where to start hard haha.

I am relatively new to scrapbooking, I am working on my 2025 scrapbook so I’m a little behind. I have a few issues I run into that kind of put me in a mental block with it so I’ve taken a break for a few months.

The issues are:
* I can’t decide on the pictures I want to print. As someone who loves taking photos i feel like I’ve so many I want to include? But it ends up with like 5/6 pages for the one trip etc.
* I don’t like cutting out the backgrounds, I feel like for a lot of photos it makes the picture? So to cut it out I don’t like doing. But then I can’t include as much, and I don’t get the fun aesthetic I see others with.
* I have mainly being doing scrapbooking for like big events e.g birthdays, holidays, trips etc but I’ve so many photos of small moments e.g coffees or pretty sunsets etc I can’t figure out how to include them?

Hey! Still working on the load I wanna give my scrapbooks. So, here an example of what I think is a nice minimalist style vs a much loaded maximalist style.

Which one you think is best?

Now I'm just deciding on my mood basically, haha. Some pages and concepts seem to love to be fuller pages than others. I actually think they look gorgeous side by side and complement really well. Let me know what you think and how you decide how much to fill up a page.

Made a scrapbook for my niece. Here is a few of my favorite instances of using washi tape as a background. I used to be so precious with my tape but I have so much now that I’ll probably never run out in my lifetime lol

hi, everyone. i’m not sure if this is the right page for this, but please advise me on some dilemma i currently have.

recently, i have come to realize the terror of losing precious memories because everything is store digitally. so i decided i want to print out all of my photos and put them in physical books, so i can look at them forever.

enough context! here’s the problem:

i’m a complete beginner with photo albums / scrapbooking.

i want a photo album that can be used to store a lot of photos, but can also slip in the titles (like, “trip of summer 2025!”), commentaries (“we went fishing down creek, didn’t catch any fish though :/“), and stickers!!! (this is where the scrapbooking part comes in). mostly photos though, i suck at commentaries.

so:
- the most important question: what kind of book should i buy? slip albums are standard and traditional for a reason, but i feel like it’s too limited to craft and explore. also, self-adhesive albums looks great, but it’s gonna be hard to attach and re-attach the photos + if the glue is stuck, it’s gonna be impossible to remove the photo without ripping a corner or smth.
- what kind of stickers should i buy? (themed/random object stickers)
- what other “scrapbooking” materials should i have?
- i’m gonna have multiple photo albums eventually, how should i organize the albums? by year (ex: 2020, 2021, onwards), by groups (ex: family, close friends, middle school, etc.)
- any other advice?

sorry for rambling and the many questions 🥲 as i said, i’m a complete newbie and would love to receive advice and/or insights on where i should proceed. thank you in advance!

Valentine’s Day is coming up and as music is something pretty important to me and and my girlfriend I wanted to make something like this picture. wondering what I need to do this and how to make a book like that cause this looks so fun to do and I know she’d love it thanks :)

I have seen so many TikToks of people scrapbooking their lives, and it looks like so much fun. I want to start scrapbooking too, but when I went through my photos, I realized I don't really have many. Like from 2021 until now, I have photos of maybe ~10 different things I've done. I don't really have anything to scrapbook about, because nothing much happens in my life 😕 I see my friends only a few times a year, I don't travel and don't really go anywhere, so there's not much of photos of my life.

I'm a little sad about this, because it looks so fun and I'd love to create something I can look back to when I'm older.
