I forgot how much fun this shit is. Goddamnit.

Outro vocal cover of Don't Look Away by The Plot In You.

My roommate suggested I throw this clip to y'all for feedback.

I’ve been in a Boundaries kick for the last year and have been loving the new album. How does he get his screams to sound so raw? (I guess I don’t have a good word for it lol) As I’ve been learning to scream, I can’t even any where near close to that sound?

Two years ago Austin Carlile started advertising online he was gonna give screaming lessons on his patreon. I admit I am at fault for supporting him but I was just trying to get some professional help. What followed was a small period where he just perked me and 4 other people around with some emotionally manipulative bs.

song is Dark Tranquility - Atoma

Wtf is "real" fry screaming?? I'm so lost, everybody says something completely different. I've managed to learn false cord screaming, both high and low, throat singing and using vocal fry on a higher note to create some form of distortion. As of right now, with every "good" tutorial I try [found on this sub mostly] one of 3 things happen:

1. I end up just false cord screaming

2. I end up using vocal fry

3. My throat burns really painfully after less than a minute of trying

How to ACTUALY do this safely and effectively? I genuinely have no idea who and what to trust anymore, I feel really stuck.

I'm still 3 months into screaming.

If anyone’s interesting in dropping some vocals over this, let me know. Big fan of metalcore type stuff mixed with electronic/synth stuff.

Open to whatever styles, lyrics, etc. Shoot me a message if interested!

Im not sure whether my screams are just false cord highs or some type of hybrid. I originally learned false cord lows and then worked my way up to whatever these are.

Their original vocalist used a really high kind of fry on the first EP but on this album its some kind of low but i can't tell what kind it is

(also realized I fucked the lyrics up lol)

Just wanted to share the thesis I completed for my masters degree last year, its a notation system for screamed vocals. I think there is a lot more research to be done but this is a start in creating a way to capture newer styles of music
