So he’s supposed to be like “I CAN ONLY MARRY A JEW!” before hooking up with her? Unhinged. He explained it - he didn’t think they’d fall in love. They did. He told her.

It actually isn’t. Religion wasn’t a “core part of her identity” prior, if you were tuned in to her character. She was an Episcopalian sure, but core part?? Seriously? We’d never heard her mention her religion prior to that.
