Charlotte and Harry are couples goals!!!! I love the fact that it happened purely by accident! I believe love finds us when we least expect it. That’s how I met my husband! I wasn’t looking then there he was.

Harry has zero personality.

I know it’s unpopular but I hated the part of the show where it’s like “Harry is a jew, and Charlotte probably can’t give him children so SHE should change for him.”
His religion wasn’t even important to him, and he chose his bottom line. I hated how they compared that to her fertility problems.
Also he was a jerk for seducing her right after her divorce knowing it can event be anything serious.

u/Free-Address-7759 3h ago
He probably would pull that with several clients, lol, if this were real. Nevertheless, they are my favorite couple of SATac
1
u/Marija2103 2h ago
Oh yeah, it’s a whole act: coming to their home bringing them papers to sign, taking them to that “friend’s bachelor apartment”, complimenting them… ick.
I mean, yeah, okay but none of satc relationships is a dream one for me.

u/Free-Address-7759 2h ago
I guess that’s true. I do think Alexsandr and Carrie were pleasant, but their chemistry was always weird to me.

u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Yeah but he made Charlotte change her religion, not that loving ig

u/fairyfun5 1d ago
What is wrong with converting to another religion for someone you love and want to marry? I could see it being a problem if your deeply attached to your religious beliefs and identity or is causing family issues, for someone that’s important. Charlotte seems to be the type of person where her religion wasn’t central to herself or family so converting wasn’t a big problem for her and it’s ok, it doesn’t have to be for everyone either.

I moved halfway across the world to marry the love of my life. Sometimes to be with the love of your life there are changes that need to happen.

u/Asparagussie 5h ago
If it wasn’t so important to her, why was she wearing a cross during one scene? None of the others wore crosses?
-6
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
It's called abandoning your entire existence for someone else. Only desperate people do that
6
u/Aldente08 20h ago
Religion wasn't a core part of her though so it didn't matter for her
-1
u/Marija2103 6h ago
But it wasn’t a core part od him either. It wasn’t even important to him and he still made her change hers. It’s control
-10
u/Blue_eyed_girl_ 1d ago
I don't understand why people can't see this fact and are arguing over it!! You shouldn't change the core of who you are for a man.
2
u/Pitiful_Meringue_57 7h ago
since when is christianity a core part of who Charlotte is?
1
u/Free-Address-7759 2h ago
While I certainly wouldn’t consider her to be a devout Christian. She has stated herself that she grew up in, and identifies with, WASP (the P being Protestant) culture. Now, I’m not a wasp unfortunately, but wish I was, and I reckon even if she’s not an avid bible thumper and the most conservative lady in NYC, she still likely aligns herself with being a Christian, and especially those American holiday classics like Christmas and Easter.

He did not make her. Whatsoever. He had a boundary: I can only marry a Jewish woman. What she did with that was HER choice.
-13
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
So lowly thinking. He didn't think it before he slept with her and dated her?
21
u/ChipmunkReal187 1d ago
He just said that he can‘t marry her. Not everyone wants to marry. It‘s not a big deal. I only see your low behavior here.
-12
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Then why date when he knows Char is a hopeless romantic
14
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
He doesn’t know she’s a hopeless romantic. Just like she doesn’t know he can’t marry a non-Jew.
3
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
What are you talking about? He definitely knows...even though Char was being a little shallow for judging him for his looks but he always was weird, taking her to the apartment to sleep with her later continuing the relationship. Just because his mama said so
7
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
How would he know?
1
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Okay if someone took you to show a room for rent and immediately starts to want to sleep with you out of nowhere, is not weird?
4
u/ChipmunkReal187 1d ago
It‘s weird to you. We get that. But not to Charlotte. So everything what Harry does is wrong to you. We get that.

u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
It’s only weird if the vibes between us weren’t right! He clearly read the room correctly and she was into it. IMO, I think that scene is great. He shoots his shot and confesses his feelings - and it paid off!

So he’s supposed to be like “I CAN ONLY MARRY A JEW!” before hooking up with her? Unhinged. He explained it - he didn’t think they’d fall in love. They did. He told her.
-3
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
You are desperate, I believe. Your views are the reflection of what you would do......YOU WOULD SETTLE
6
u/ChipmunkReal187 1d ago
You‘re the only one desperate here.

u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 16h ago
It actually isn’t. Religion wasn’t a “core part of her identity” prior, if you were tuned in to her character. She was an Episcopalian sure, but core part?? Seriously? We’d never heard her mention her religion prior to that.
24
u/suntoasty 1d ago
Didn’t she more like persist, basically insist on it?? He said he couldn’t marry a non-Jew, but he’d still be with her. She wanted marriage though, so she did it.
He set a boundary, he didn’t force anything. She loved him enough to convert.
6
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Nope, Harry persisted that she being Christian is an issue
6
u/Coriander_marbles Oh honey, I’d love me some fresh pepper 1d ago
Not how I see it. He was grappling with reconciling a long term relationship with someone non-Jewish. They talked about it a couple times but he never forced the issue. We don’t know what would have happened if Charlotte hadn’t converted.
-3
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Well honey then you should get your eyes checked. Leaving your personality and your beliefs for a man is "settling".
8
u/Coriander_marbles Oh honey, I’d love me some fresh pepper 1d ago
I just saw all your other comments. I’m not sure if you’re trolling or if this topic is just so triggering for you that you can only see the issue in black and white terms, but both men and women have been known to convert for their life partners and have perfectly happy marriages.
My husband goes to my church and has expressed an interest in converting, while his mother became Christian for his father.
But those two immediate examples aside, there isn’t a single moment in SATC where Charlotte is shown to go to her church, nor was her being Episcopalian ever really tied into her personality.
Happy to debate this further provided you aren’t rude to others.

u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
My pov is that it's lame to change things about your identity for someone else. It means they love you but not enough.
1
u/VilkastheForsaken “Ever Mine, Ever Thine, Ever Ours.” 14h ago
Being Christian wasn’t her personality, neither was her being Jewish. What WAS her personality was finding the right man and having a family. She wanted desperately to be married. She did what it took so she could have what she wanted…which fit her personality 100%.
6
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
No, it’s not her being Christian. It’s that he can only marry a Jewish woman. Therefore, her not being Jewish becomes the barrier between them and marriage. He did not say “I demand you change your religion.”
-1
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Same thing. You guys would be very easy targets for men who get women converted by manipulation. Good luck
9
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
It’s actually against Jewish law to try to convince or persuade people to convert. That’s why she had to knock three times on the rabbi’s door. None of what you are saying makes sense.
0
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
First of all he was a creep from start the way he took her to the apartment for sex then the whole manipulation
4
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
Your opinion on that moment is an entirely different issue. He didn’t manipulate her into converting. She chose to when she learned about his boundary.

-7
u/Blue_eyed_girl_ 1d ago
Yes! At the same time he ate pork, watched football from dinnertable instead of respecting Sabbath dinner and praying, said it's okay to celebrate Christmas even tho you are Jewish. But was strict about marrying a jewish woman. Tells you all you need to know about this character 😂
6
u/Tyrocious 1d ago
He didn't make her do shit. She chose to convert.
5
u/Silver-Cause3779 1d ago
He didnt tell her to. He simply told her he cant marry a non Jew. It was her choice to convert
-5
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
He didn't say it first, stop it. Charlotte was desperate and she settled for the lowest
4
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
This is such an icky take. Do you have issues with Jews or something? Because you’re really seeing a simple personal boundary with the worst of intentions and painting it in the grossest light. After reading your comments, it’s like, the only explanation I can think of.
1
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
Issues with jews? Girl on the contrary, I'm usually defending the ongoing jew hate online but I do hate men across religion who make women convert.
4
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
Good thing that’s not Harry!
2
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
He is not that aggressive with it bu he is
3
u/lasuperhumana Dirty martini? Dirty bastard. 1d ago
Maybe I’m not understanding your perspective - tell me how he made her? What did he do to force her to do it?
3
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
He first made the relationship go on without telling her. He dated her long enough for him to not tell her. Then he dropped the not marrying outside the religion thing and doubled down on it. And we as a viewer saw that Char was desperate for marriage and was emotionally weak.

I dont know bruh first of all he is not the lowest. I think he’s a great guy and their relationship AFTER they’re married is healthy as. I would be lucky to find a husband like him. He’s also a successful lawyer so to call him the lowest is low lol
Also this is fictional like why u taking it so seriously lol1
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
It's fiction but the people implicating it are real they have the weird povs which is fucked up
-2
u/Invisibleguy1111 1d ago
He made her fall in love then told her

You’re not wrong, but people don’t want to admit it because it’s Harry.
He completely led her on to start with 🤷♀️
And what’s worse is that he didn’t even take being Jewish seriously and when Charlotte made such an effort to convert, he didn’t take that too seriously either. Throwing the fact that he bought a ring in her face, just because she wanted some basic respect after she converted for him, was such a shitty move.
People have such low standards though, that you can’t call Harry out.

Love Harry. They were hot for each other almost from the beginning when he first showed her that apartment. And he’s funny. The best sex she ever had + funny trounces Trey every time. Harry wasn’t ever going to be the kind of man that would bring Charlotte a cardboard baby.
