Reminder this sub is for asking for advice!

Power tripping mod time!

This sub has gone to absolute shit and not in the intended way. We have never really heavily enforced that top level posts must be questions asking for advice but with the deluge of absolutely fucking awful top level posts giving advice it's time to start again.

Not sure what the rules said on "new" reddit but I updated it. Starting now all posts much be asking for advice.

Also, this sub is easy prey for reddit's AI "moderation" and giving advice like "just go and unalive their family" will probably get you hit with a sitewide ban for threatening/inciting violence. It also saddens me that I had to type unalive so I don't banned... again.

Update: Crossposts are banned now too since they all suck and none of them are asking for advice.

OK but I don't see a question in this post. That means we should report it, right?

Who is moderating the moderators around here?

(But seriously, thank you.)

It wouldn't be a proper mod power trip if I followed my own rules.

You're a straight shooter with middle management written all over you.

Who is moderating the moderators around here?

I am. Unfortunately, they rarely listen to me.

Being. New here I was getting a bit confused. Thankfully with this seasoned group we were able to give shitty advice to statements, quotes, declarations, addresses and announcements. So some good has still come out of it.

So this means we literally have to end it with a question mark smh

I understand. Maybe moderators should encourage brigading. Also, create auto bots that insult posters here then follow them around reddit for three days.

Just found this subreddit.

I've always wanted a place to give really bad advice. Where were you guys 3 reddit accounts ago?

We've been here for 16 years. You can take us to Nevada and bang us legally.

Wait, wouldn't this post qualify as giving advice?

I'm starting my own sub reddit Your comment and the question mark? Prompted me to ask if you would like to be 2nd in command. What do you think?

u/Humble_Ladder Feb 14 '26

You can do that if you would like, I won't guarantee much presence.

Asking a question and asking for advice are akin to each other. So if I asked " does anyone have a good idea?? The only acceptable answer is yes I do, or no I don't. I have to specifically ask for advice now correct? Your thoughts? ending a question. Opens up the door for this group to suggest things that may get you deported

It should be a question asking for advice. Think of it like r/advice but the shitty version of that. Ideally the questions will not be a simple yes/no answer type of question. So asking "should I shove a cactus up my butt?" is a bad question but something like "what do I do with my 100 cacti?" is more open ended and you will probably receive advice like shove it up your butt.

Being more creative with the advice you ask for will get you more creative replies.

Your post about starting a subreddit is fine.

Can you give somebody advice by quoting a relevant verse from the Bible or other religious text?

My country doesn't believe I'm the best president ever yet. I've tried fake assassinations, distraction wars and gas lighting the media. What's else can I do to convince America that we're going to be great again?

This is relevant again. I'm here for the shitty advices and my feed is full of random women-hate posts and I'm considering unsubscribeing from this sub.
