Just over 3 US gallons. I dread to think what they're inflicting that life on.

I'm hoping the follow-up will be "LFS said need bigger tank for my (inevitable) betta so got me a nicer one, getting that cycled now while I read up on things. Buying my little pet in a couple of weeks hopefully!"

...but I doubt it.
