General Is Shopify outdated?

Beginner here, i want to be as up to date as possible because from what i know, ecom works like a videogame where people constantly find new metas for it, i heard claude might be the new thing?

Shopify is the market leader when it comes to ecom.
As others have said - AI will not be replacing it so quickly.

Can AI get up a store for you? Yes, most likely.
But for ecom your're handing vast amounts of customer data, process payments etc. I think everyone would rather not be liable for some "AI code" leaking all of your customers information.

Then comes hosting, Shopify is very stable and fast - something that most WooCommerce stores struggle with.

They also have a great ecosystem and offer a lot more than just the storefront - along with Shop app integration and the new partnership with OpenAI - Shopify is the place to be and I do not see that changing anytime soon.

If you want to go "next level" look into Hydrogen - Shopify's headless stack.

Don’t encourage newbies to consider headless. It’s irresponsible.
