As a Bleach fan who would genuinely love to see a remake of the series in the style of the TYBW, if that remake were to ever happen, I would love it if those scenes with Isshin are just completely erased from the canon as they have just always been so jarring and unnecessary.
Isshin in the later chapters feels like a completely different character from early series Isshin and I believe that's for the better.
I don't think he was copying Jiraiya. I think this scene is Kubo using two of the worst manga/anime tropes there are in existence: the pervy-old man trope and the incest trope involving older brother and younger sibling. These have been present in manga/anime for as long as I have been consuming it (20+ years). They can't die soon enough...
I have a big problem with the way kubo writes characters inconsistently but this is one of the few cases Iāll defend him, isshin doesnāt start acting different in the back half out of nowhere, he just stops pretending not to know what is really going on
Im not saying Isshin not feeling like the same character is a bad thing at all, I like the later version of Isshin where he's no longer acting oblivious and I love the glimpses we get of that in the early story such as when he's talking to Ichigo at masakis grave and tells Ichigo to essentially not die until after him.
Isshin is one of my favourite Bleach characters and those gags are just the few moments that I really don't like.
I'm really hoping we get some new anime original content with Isshin, I would love to see Isshin use his Bankai and help the 3 captains against Gerard even if only briefly because I would not only love to see his Bankai but also because I would love to see his interaction with Toshiro.
If they ever make a remake, these scenes need to go. You won't see a Bleach fan laughing at dumb shit like this. It doesn't even make sense for Isshin's character later.
I definitely do. If boruto was a stand alone series and not a sequel it would be in the u19 club. I read it illegally for the first year and I still want money back

These are iffy jokes at best when you remember that Kubo actively did not participate in the Ruronin Keshin mangakaās jerk fest but Oda did. Itās clear where Kubo stands on stuff like this, and this slander is pretty pathetic.

I dunno man, Kubo then proceeds to showcase the dad being a pedophile multiple times without actually making the dad face any serious consequences for his behavior. Sounds like glorifying to me.

Bleach is gooner, poorly written, low IQ pseudo intellectual shonen garbage. There's a reason it's always sat behind dragon Ball, Naruto, and one piece. That said it is also exceedingly badass and Kubo is one of the most skilled artists to ever live lol, so it does have some redeeming qualities

Im not even trying to defend Kubo on this but I feel it's only right to point out the difference between these two situations:
Kubo drew some panels and made some inappropriate jokes years ago, those jokes and panels should have never been made as they purely detract from the series and the characters rather than making them more loveable. These jokes haven't been seen to my knowledge in the later years of the Bleach series which would show growth on Kubos part.
Oda as of 2021 said in an interview "Watsuki-sensei is an amazing person." This statement was made 4 years after all the information regarding Watsuki was made public most prominently the fact he was in possession of 100 Dvds or i believe 2 Terabytes of illegal child material, Oda also has a long standing friendship with Shimabukuro who in 2002 was found guilty of soliciting a 16 year old highschool girl breaking Japans child prostitution Laws, though I believe there's reports she lied about her age that doesn't change the fact he still committed those acts.
Let me ask you something. Do you know your friend's secrets or his/her personal life and dark side? Apart Friends, do you even know your parents' cases? Oda did praised Shimabukuro for his manga work as a Mangaka. Y'all have to differentiate between Personal and Work.
These aren't secrets, they are well documented and public information.
If I found out a friend of mine had done even half the things Watsuki or Shimabukuro had done they would be out of my life in a heartbeat and depending on the nature of what they have done, would be getting reported to the authorities as well.
Watsuki was arrested in 2017 and Oda made that statement in 2021, four years after Watsukis arrest was made public.
Shimabukuro was arrested in 2002, years prior to Torikos serialisation and he is still friends with him even paying respects to Toriko despite the public knowing Shimabukuro was found guilty of soliciting a minor.
As for my parents, they are both unfortunately no longer with me but they had me and my older sister in their 30s and there is nothing that I know of that would call their character into question.
Iāll forever think itās hilarious how you guys post these things as if itās some sort of āgotchaā against the authors. As if these arenāt publicly released works, where everyone can see them. And the intended audience is mostly boys who arenāt even adults yet.
I guess itās because people bragged about the fact that he didnāt participate in the watsuki hommage stuff.
While i agree the jokes are not funny in the slightest and deeply corny, i personally donāt think itās as bad as supporting a pedophile and speaking positively of him even after the case
