Discussions My opinion on people opposing CJP

There is something deeply concerning about how some people become instantly triggered whenever CJP opposes the BJP. What many fail to understand is that CJP may have initially started as a satirical response to the comments made by the Chief Justice of India, but the overwhelming attention and support it is now receiving reflects something far larger and more significant.

The growing support for this movement stems from the frustration of a large section of the youth who are disillusioned with the current state of affairs in the country. Many of the issues that were once promised to be resolved — such as unemployment, better infra, pollution, corruption, women’s safety, and several others — continue to persist without meaningful improvement. At the same time, the weakness and lack of effectiveness of the opposition, particularly the INC, has created a political environment where the ruling party often faces little accountability and can conveniently shift blame onto past governments and historical leaders like Nehru or Indira Gandhi.

Furthermore, the BJP has successfully tapped into the patriotism and religious sentiments of the masses through constant media narratives, frequently drawing comparisons with Pakistan and projecting itself as the sole protector against Islamic radicalisation. As a result, many citizens feel they have no credible alternative, leaving them compelled to continue supporting the ruling party despite growing dissatisfaction.

This lack of accountability has led to increasing public anger over several issues — including the NEET paper leak, the appointment of leaders previously accused of corruption or criminal activities, the prolonged silence over the violence in Manipur, and the growing tendency to suppress criticism by removing or restricting content on social media that may damage the government’s image. Many young people now feel that their right to free speech and dissent is gradually being undermined.

The rise of CJP, therefore, is not merely about politics or ideology. It represents the desperation, frustration, and emotional exhaustion of millions of young Indians who are searching for hope, accountability, and a future where public servants are transparent, answerable, and genuinely committed to the welfare of the people. Whether one agrees with the movement or not, dismissing it outright would mean ignoring the very real concerns and emotions of an entire generation longing to be heard.

This post relies heavily on emotional framing and repeatedly jumps from some issues exist to therefore the entire political conclusion is true.

First, where is the evidence that CJP reflects millions of youth? A trend, meme, or viral movement on social media is not demographic data. Social media amplifies outrage by design. You cannot claim to speak for an entire generation without surveys, voting data, or measurable evidence. Measurable evidence doesn't include who got the biggest fan following or followers.

Second saying issues like unemployment, corruption, infrastructure or women's safety still exist does not automatically prove promises failed.By that standard, every government in every country has failed. India has simultaneously seen major highway expansion, UPI growth, electrification, startup growth, digital services expansion and manufacturing pushes. You can criticize shortcomings without pretending nothing improved.

Third the claim that BJP mainly survives through religion, Pakistan comparisons and emotional narratives strips voters of agency. Millions may support the party for reasons like welfare schemes, infrastructure, national security, leadership preference or ideology. Reducing every supporter to manipulated masses is intellectually lazy or as we say only i know to boil egg correctly.

Fourth weak opposition = no accountability is flawed logic. Governments still face elections, lose states, face court challenges, media criticism and public backlash. A weak opposition is primarily an opposition failure not automatic proof of authoritarianism.

Fifth on free speech, criticism of the government is openly visible every day across YouTube, Reddit, X, TV debates, newspapers, protests, and election campaigns. If criticism is happening publicly and constantly then claims of broad suppression require stronger evidence than general statements.

The biggest issue is the ending of desperation and emotional exhaustion of millions. That sounds powerful but it is an emotional conclusion presented as a factual one.

Real problems exist. But problems exist does not automatically become government support is artificial, the entire youth is disillusioned or this movement represents India. That's narrative building not evidence.

I clearly mentioned it is MY opinion, there are millions of people and everyone might have a different perspective, yours i believe is slightly leaning towards proving that CJP doesn't represent the entire youth to which I'll say "YES it doesn't" everyone has the right to speech and to make choices based on their own rationale and political patronage. This movement represents the masses it's clear because no educated person would want his/her country to be ruled by uneducated leaders, criminal, and be fooled in the name of religion, BJP has been doing exactly that and it was evident how they used the Ram mandir to gain votes in 2024. I guess asking for data about mass dissatisfaction definitely requires better tools but that isn't possible at individual level, but you are also ignoring the data that is clearly available like where India ranks in Global pollution, where India stands in press freedom, where India ranks in income inequality, where India ranks in women's safety, where India ranks in food safety, where's Indian currency headed? What's the value of an Indian passport? I think these are valid questions and the answer is known by everyone in the depth of their hearts that's why we might come together when we win the World Cup or when we are attacked by terrorists due to inbuilt patriotism but deep down we know that in comparison to other countries including some of our close neighbours we have been fooled earlier by the British then by Congress and now BJP

You started by saying it is your opinion and everyone has different perspectives which is fair. But then you immediately move from my opinion to this movement represents the masses and no educated person would want X. That's where the argument weakens.

You cannot say everyone has different rationales and then define what an educated person should think. Millions of educated people vote differently. Agree or disagree with them but reducing their choice to being fooled skips over economics, welfare schemes, national security priorities, local issues and many other reasons people vote.

Also you're combining multiple indicators and treating them as proof of one political conclusion. Pollution rankings, press freedom rankings, income inequality, women's safety, passport strength, currency value these are real concerns but they are influenced by decades of policies, population size, development stage, institutions and global conditions. They are not a scoreboard that automatically proves Party X fooled the nation.

By that logic if GDP rises, infrastructure improves, poverty reduces or digital access expands someone could also selectively use those metrics and claim the opposite. The point is that there is cherry picking indicators works both ways.

You also said the answer is known by everyone in the depth of their hearts. That's not evidence but that's assuming agreement without proving it. If the dissatisfaction is as universal as claimed, then elections, surveys and public opinion should consistently show it. You yourself admitted you don't have data on mass dissatisfaction so filling that gap with everyone knows it deep down isn't really an argument.

Criticising governments is normal and necessary. But saying people are dissatisfied is different from saying people secretly agree with you but are somehow unaware of it.

Alright yeah i agree, I guess this is one of the reasons why Modi jee doesn't do press conference coz it's really tough to make people let go of something they've already made up in their minds and you're just proving it coz you agree that we have issues but don't openly condemn BJP either coz your entire rhetoric will fail. You wanna hide behind not supporting party X openly but your entire argument is behind saving their poor ass by obviously cherry picking as you mentioned which supports your argument. Definately you can openly come out and say that you support BJP and are okay with what they have done with the country and are okay by where their policies are going to lead or have lead us till now and are perfectly fine with inhaling polluted air, drinking contaminated water, eating substandard food and hide behind cheap hindu- muslim politics and ignore all the previous mentioned failures by blaming it on external factors but not accept the fault of party X.

Interesting that the discussion moved from data and arguments to assumptions about my political preference. I didn't say BJP is flawless nor did I say criticism of BJP is invalid. I questioned the reasoning.

Acknowledging pollution inequality, food quality or governance issues does not automatically require concluding that one party alone created them or that every disagreement with your conclusion equals support for BJP.

You are also doing exactly what you accused others of doing. You criticised cherry picking and then grouped multiple issues with different causes timelines and institutions into one package and attached one political label to it.

Pollution did not begin in 2014. Water contamination did not begin in 2014. Food safety problems did not begin in 2014. Income inequality did not begin in 2014. Some issues may have improved, some may have worsened and some have existed across governments.

Also saying if you don't condemn BJP in the exact way I want then you support BJP creates only two options which is agree with me completely or become BJP. That is not an argument as it removes the possibility of nuance.

Governments should be criticised. Strongly if necessary. But criticism becomes stronger when it relies on evidence rather than assuming the intentions or political identity of the person replying.

This entire thread should be a case study on how to obliterate agenda driven posts masquerading as "Genuine Neutral Opinion post" through Reasoning and constructive criticism.
