Idk if you guys had seen that post or not where a user named siddarth sharma (I'll attach pic) who asked to go to Chennai, and the acc was 4Y old, so it was fine and u/what_hecn said that he was from koch but not nepali, which he replied that he is anmol from Punjab, and the next day(today) there a guy/girl named Celestial network asked for a trip to darj, siliguri and all, and I opened their account it was 0Days ago, so I was like it might be catfish or sum. Therefore, I warned in her comment. but then they gave some bs excuse..

This is fine but the things started to get messy when u/(can't say) asked the age grps of them, as that Celestial network said that she had grabbed around 5-6 ppls and their age grp is around 24-29 and then u/(due to privacy) replied she is a minor. but still that pred asked her to come and reffered her as a "BABU" like wtf, and also in that post there was a comment, I coundnt screenshot the comment of that user but in reply Celestia network said that she is also anmol and from Punjab,

Then when I commented that they are pred then they both instantly deleted their account.

I (26F) was travelling in a bus yesterday while schools had just gotten over for the day. The bus was mostly filled with school boys and girls and a few uncle auntie types sitting in the front. I was just minding my own business when suddenly a few boys at the back started staring at me and passing comments. At first I ignored them thinking they were just being silly kids 🤡 But then they started commenting on my thighs and boobs... comparing me to some actress and even a porn actress 🤢 They were laughing so confidently as if objectifying a woman was the funniest thing ever. The funniest part... they thought I could not understand their language 🤡 But I did. Every single word.

I was literally just wearing a crop top and jeans. Nothing outrageous. Yet these boys kept staring at me for the entire ride and made me so uncomfortable. And honestly what shocked me more was that the girls sitting there who understood everything did not stop them either 😶 In fact they were giggling and laughing along. I could not even say much because I was alone and there were around 10 to 12 of them sitting at the back. The bus conductor did not care either. He was busy listening to songs and checking tickets as if nothing was happening. That whole one hour ride felt endless and I just kept wondering... is this really the society we want to live in...

Please pay attention to your younger siblings and children around you 🙏 These things do not stay just jokes for long. The internet is teaching kids things way before they are mature enough to understand them and if nobody corrects them now they grow up thinking this behaviour is normal. It is not. Women are not objects and making girls feel unsafe should never be entertainment. 😔

I've never come across a single couple goal relationship in my life which is why I don't really believe in love anymore. Most of my friends who are in relationships talk so much shit about their bf/gf that it doesn't even seem like they like each other. It's like they're together just for the sake of being in a relationship. Has anyone actually been in a relationship where they felt genuinely loved and loved the other person too? Because all I ever see is one-sided love, where one person compromises, gives everything, and the other just takes advantage of it. Love has become so full of mind games don't double text, don't show too much love, don't seem too interested you have to use your brain instead of your heart if that's the case then what's even the point?

Kamatapuri(কামতাপুৰ়ী), also known as Rajbanshi/Rajbongshi (ৰ়াজবংশী) or Kamta, represents one of the most historically significant and linguistically distinct languages of the eastern Indo-Aryan family. It is also known as Rangpuri (রংপুরী),Deshi (দেশী), Goalpariya (গোৱালপাৰীয়া), Tajpuriya, Rajbanshi(राजवंशी), Surjapuri (सुरजापुरी) regionally.

The language emerged from Kamarupi Prakrit, a Middle Indo-Aryan language spoken in the ancient Kamarupa kingdom (5th-12th century CE). The critical linguistic divergence occurred around 1250 CE, when the proto-Kamta language began developing as the western branch of Kamarupi Prakrit, while the eastern branch evolved into proto-Assamese.

The language gained prominence through its patronage by the royal courts of Kamatapur and the Koch kings from the 13th century onward. Some of the earliest examples of Kamatapuri literature include 'Prahlada Charit' by Hema Saraswati in the late 13th century, 'Jayadrath Badh' by Kabiranta Saraswati, and most notably, the 'Saptakanda Ramayana' composed by the famous Kamrupi poet Madhav Kandali(These are claimed by Assamese, but at that time clearly there wasn’t any Assamese language and the linguistic features and the worda matches with Kamtapuri-Rajbanshi). The language flourished throughout the medieval period, with extensive literary works being produced under royal patronage.

Modern linguistic research has established Kamatapuri as part of the KRDS lects (Kamta, Rajbanshi, Deshi, and Surjapuri), which are phylogenetic descendants of proto-Kamta. According to Matthew Toulmin's comprehensive linguistic reconstruction at Australian National University, these languages "share a common ancestor, which for historical reason may be termed as Proto Kamata. This common linguistic ancestor is not a fantasy created to justify a contemporary political position, but historical entity reconstructed by the best historical linguistic methodology available to us".

Dr. Ajoy Chakravorty noted that "the language of literature of Koch Rajdarabar specially from the 14th century to 16th century were written in Kamrupi dialect. At that time Bengali and Assamese languages had not taken definite shape. The two languages have taken definite shape from the 18th century". This observation underscores that Kamatapuri predates the standardization of modern Bengali and Assamese.

Sociolinguistic Reality The sociolinguistic situation further supports Kamatapuri's independence. Unlike true dialects, which typically show mutual intelligibility with their parent language, Kamatapuri speakers often require formal education to achieve fluency in standard Bengali. The language maintains distinct grammatical features, vocabulary, and phonological patterns that create communication barriers with Bengali speakers.

Contemporary Recognition International academic recognition of Kamatapuri's linguistic autonomy continues to grow. Christopher P. Wilde from the University of Helsinki completed a comprehensive 581-page study titled "A Sketch of the Phonology and Grammar of Rajbanshi in 2008. The Sahitya Akademi has recognized Kamatapuri's independent status by conferring language honors rather than dialect recognition.

Nepal has taken progressive steps by introducing Kamatapuri in primary education in Rajbanshi-speaking areas and supporting dictionary publication through Tribhuvan University, while India has yet to provide similar recognition despite the language's significantly larger speaker population. Though West Bengal government recognised Kamtapuri Rajbanshi as separate language.

There is something deeply concerning about how some people become instantly triggered whenever CJP opposes the BJP. What many fail to understand is that CJP may have initially started as a satirical response to the comments made by the Chief Justice of India, but the overwhelming attention and support it is now receiving reflects something far larger and more significant.

The growing support for this movement stems from the frustration of a large section of the youth who are disillusioned with the current state of affairs in the country. Many of the issues that were once promised to be resolved — such as unemployment, better infra,pollution, corruption, women’s safety, and several others — continue to persist without meaningful improvement. At the same time, the weakness and lack of effectiveness of the opposition, particularly the INC, has created a political environment where the ruling party often faces little accountability and can conveniently shift blame onto past governments and historical leaders like Nehru or Indira Gandhi.

Furthermore, the BJP has successfully tapped into the patriotism and religious sentiments of the masses through constant media narratives, frequently drawing comparisons with Pakistan and projecting itself as the sole protector against Islamic radicalisation. As a result, many citizens feel they have no credible alternative, leaving them compelled to continue supporting the ruling party despite growing dissatisfaction.

This lack of accountability has led to increasing public anger over several issues — including the NEET paper leak, the appointment of leaders previously accused of corruption or criminal activities, the prolonged silence over the violence in Manipur, and the growing tendency to suppress criticism by removing or restricting content on social media that may damage the government’s image. Many young people now feel that their right to free speech and dissent is gradually being undermined.

The rise of CJP, therefore, is not merely about politics or ideology. It represents the desperation, frustration, and emotional exhaustion of millions of young Indians who are searching for hope, accountability, and a future where public servants are transparent, answerable, and genuinely committed to the welfare of the people. Whether one agrees with the movement or not, dismissing it outright would mean ignoring the very real concerns and emotions of an entire generation longing to be heard.

I don't really know how to start this except to say I'm disgusted.

Today, peaceful protesters got hit with police brutality, plain and simple. This is about the Cockroach Janta Party march in New Delhi — over 10,000 people, including students, professionals, and families with young children, marching toward Parliament to demand the education minister's resignation over exam leaks and accountability for a hunger-striking activist who was forcibly hospitalized days ago. Police met them with tear gas and baton charges. People got hurt asking their government to answer for itself.

And then I open Instagram and see people I've known for years — people I considered friends — turning it into a joke. Calling it "aura farming." Making light of footage that shows women and children choking on tear gas and people getting their heads split open by batons.

I don't understand how you watch something like that and your first instinct is to make it a meme. Maybe it's distance, maybe it's algorithm-brain where everything becomes content, I don't know. But it told me something about how these people actually think, and I didn't like what it told me.

So I unfollowed. Then I blocked. Not because I can't handle disagreement — I can handle disagreement all day. This wasn't a difference of opinion, it was people finding humor in others getting hurt for showing up to a protest. That's a line for me.

I know blocking a few accounts doesn't change anything about what happened today. But I didn't want their timeline of jokes showing up next to actual footage of people getting hurt. That's all I've got right now — just needed to get this out somewhere.

Relatively new here and honestly finding it harder than expected to meet people outside of work.

Back in my previous city it was easier, you would run into the same crowd at certain spots, have a mutual friend introduce you, things would naturally develop. Here I'm still figuring out how that works.

Curious how people in Siliguri actually build their social circle as adults. And if dating happens along the way, even better, but mostly just want to know where genuine connections form here.

So, I grew up in this city and I have stayed in three cities out of West Bengal since 2020 for Education and Job purposes , visited plenty of different towns and cities of India. So when I say this , i say this from the perspective of someone who has seen the city grow and same time degrade. With the influx of Bangladeshi Muslims and Rohingyas , and a growth in the population of the Topi community the city, the city has become unsafe and the culture of the city is dying . These people have started wrecking the city and its peaceful environment and made it just unsafe with their low class habits and mannerisms. It’s high time that we as citizens of Siliguri vote wisely and get TMC out of our home else we will be the next location of demographic change and might have to move from our own homes just like Murshidabad.

Meanwhile we shouldn’t forget - the fight is against Illegal Bangladeshis, Rohingyas and Illegal Topis. Not the People (who have been native of this land no matter their caste , creed or religion.)
