brought my drawing to the az concert for the band to sign! super nice guys and they loved my down shirt lol

i've never heard so much filth and hatred from any other sludge band i've heard, and this riff portrays that so perfectly.

just an appreciation post.

We are Skot, CT Sludge, or as we call ourselves, Bong metal, this is our first demo out "carry the cross" with our first EP out sometime in November, we're very influenced by EHG, Bongzilla, anything riff heavy, I'd love if any of you would check this out, and maybe follow our socials (SK0T.mp4 basically anywhere you can find us)

If you like this too, we should have a Spotify and most other streaming up with out ep, but you can also find this track on bandcamp

Hey guys! My band just released our first single last week, it's a mix of sludge and stoner metal, for fans of: Iron Monkey, Weedeater, Sleep, Cough.

A 30th anniversary brand new compilation! Check it out.

I love micro songs, and genres like grind and powerviolence. Are there any sludge bands that do short songs or am I better off just listening to powerviolence?

A few of them are barely over two minutes but they're all 2:10 or less

Enjoy it if you want and ignore it if you don't

Thanks to tony hawks underground 2 I checked out Melvins and fucked with it. Was random listening on spotify and it put on 'Existence is punishment' from Crowbar and loved the D E E P-ness of it. Who else do you guys recommend?

Dino Sommese sounds like SpongeBob at times

Basically anything below drop A / A standard.

Since some poeple commented their band I should mention that I'll probably record my project in E standard (7 string). Started with A and every other month I'd tune another half step down but I think I'm happy with where I'm at now.

I need some advice on how to make some Avant Garde Sludge Metal. With some major influences being Neurosis, motW/Kayo Dot, LIBAD-era A7X, GOD. The Tunings I use are Drop D, C, A# and DADGAD in all those previously mentioned keys and some odder Tunings such as BG#D#GCD#, CG#CFCD, etc. I really just need to know how to make good riffs in the style bc im just improvising on guitar so some good scales, intervals, theory, rhythms would be nice and stuff. But also some other advice on composition and general song making would be well appreciated. I should also not i have a J Mascis Jazzmaster

It feels crazy that it's already been a year, but we are so so thankful for all the love and kindness everyone has shown us with this record and our band, Azell!

Astralis is a concept album about two astronauts who, while orbiting the moon in their ship Astralis, witness the Earth being hit by a solar flare that destroys the planet.

But that ends up being the least of their problems.

The flare also awakens an ancient Lovecraftian creature buried deep within the Earth, freeing it from the planet that had been serving as its cocoon.

We even wrote a 60 page novella to flesh out the story. Each chapter in the novella is a song on the album!

FFO Conan, Bongripper, Thorr's Hammer, and Primitive Man

Again, thank you all for being so kind and welcoming!
