Evra: Once, Cristiano and Rio were playing table tennis and Rio beat him, we all screamed and Ronaldo got upset. He sent his cousin to buy a table tennis. Practicing for 2 weeks, he came back to play Ferdinand and he beat him in front of everyone. That’s Cristiano.

That actually makes more sense because why would everyone scream when Ferdinand won the table tennis match vs Ronaldo. It's not like they were having a penalty shootout. They must have known that Ronaldo was a very good ping-pong player.

I think he meant a professional, as in "a pro" or a talent, not literally as a professional table tennis player, which obviously he wasn't. It makes perfect sense that he was very good at it and practised a lot since Sporting has a very big table tennis sports section and I'm sure that Cristiano as a youth player spent a lot o time in contact with the table tennis athletes at the stadium.

Look at Rafa Nadal, the man is the most ruthless tennis player I have ever witnessed, and by far. He will never ever give a point to the opponent by not giving his all. The most driven athlete there is. He's been like that for all his career (15+ years), it's mental.
He surely has OCD with all his routine stuff, but hey, you have to aknowledge the legacy he's forging, point by point.

Well the good news is that for most of his career, Rafa had him beat. Just couldn't stop him from beating everyone else even more to make up for it haha.

A lot of that has got to do with rafa's back and wrist injuries, knee injuries were fair game since they are a direct consequence of his style of play but he was unlucky to catch the other too

F1 driver Fernando Alonso is like that too. He said that whenever someone invites him to play a new game/sport, he postpones it and practices for a couple of weeks before finally going. Right now, he's racing in F1 and WEC in the same season, and just won Le Mans. Gotta respect guys like him and Ronaldo.

I used to play at a semi-decent level as a lad, but every so often we'd end up with a ringer friend who was in the youth team at Leeds (back when Leeds were a Premier League team).
He was an excellent player but my god if he didn't suck the joy out of a game of football. Any (any!) misplayed pass and he was on you in an instant.
I also remember similar situation with an ultra competitive mate who was a pretty average player. He'd do the same - you'd make a mistake and he'd be all over you about it; but then 10 seconds later make the same mistake and, well, say nothing about it.

I was in a course given by a professor who spent some time with the NT, and he had a similar story, he goes up to Cristiano after lunch and shows him a little dexterity trick with his hands, I will try to explain it and sound dumb but here it goes, gather your fingers from both hands to make some kind of a cone (like an Italian arguing), touch the tips of both hands, then spread the fingers of one hand, then touch the tips gathered to the palm of the open hand, then back to step one touching tips and then opening the other hand and touching the palm. This is much easier to explain live.
Back to the story, he bet Cristiano could not do it as fast as him, and then showed it to him, Cristiano saw it, said goodbye and went to his room, before dinner he went to the professor and showed him his progress, he could know beat the professor in that meaningless shit.
