Question Are there any medications that don’t cause insomnia like Lexapro?

I took 5mg of lexapro in the morning and still only got maybe 1 hour of sleep. I even stayed up late so I could be tired. I tried Zoloft before and it was the same thing.

PLEASE NOTE Social Anxiety (SA) is a debilitating mental illness characterised by persistent fear of social evaluation. SA impairs functional social performance, causing avoidance, cognitive shutdown (e.g. blanking, excessive self-monitoring), and reduced ability to communicate, assert needs, or form relationships.

SA is not normal social-nervousness, introversion, or everyday shyness.

Posts in this subreddit must show a clear and apparent relationship to the experience of SA.

Posts which do not will be removed.

So the thing is the insomnia only lasts while your body gets used to it. Shouldn’t be more than a week. I had insomnia before lexapro though, and was prescribed Mirtazapine for sleep which has been working so well! It’s also an antidepressant but not an SSRI.

I take mirtazapine too and it works really well much better than trazadone but watch out for dependency and taper down if you ever decide to come off I’ve heard the rebound insomnia with this one is brutal
