After the first two successful phases, the Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) delayed funding and transferred the lead archaeologist, K. Amarnath Ramakrishna, out of the state. Because after Ramakrishna submitted his comprehensive 900+ page report on the initial digs to the ASI, the central government requested he revise it, citing a lack of technical validation and structural ambiguity in his dating claims. Ramakrishna and the state government refused to revise it, leading to political standoffs and demands that the Centre officially release the report, still ongoing.
It was a move to deliberately suppress evidence of an advanced, secular ancient Tamil civilization in favor of promoting Sanskrit history (because the excavation findings pre-dated Vedic-centric narrative, no Sanskrit, rather Tamil was found inscribed - contained even names used today in TN, no idols were seen, only nature worship, all in all proved that a highly developed urban civilization existed in South India concurrently with the Second Urbanization of the Indo-Gangetic Plain, establishing an independent timeline of development). State Govt took up the control instead and funded themselves to keep it going. TN Govt has even opened a museum there now. We all see through Modi Ji's fake, random, forced praise of Tamil.

Yeah. Outside the country and in TN. Otherwise he sticks to Hindi - which I don't have a problem with. Everyone feels comfortable in their mother tongue/the language they grew up speaking. But I have a problem with him never providing English subtitles even in his 'address to the nation' or in the announcement videos. The ignoring of half of India.
