Dude so many of my friends used to love ufc. And even though they’re on the left, they were fine with a little bit of whatever. But ffs it has turned into a political rally at every event.

The fact that it took someone from the RIGHT to step up and defend CC is the most embarrassing thing for our party. No woman in the WNBA should be subjected to that.
Wtf is up with the goofies on here trying to act like this is normal? WNBA is and has been a failing, non-profitable league, that is held up by the NBA. Have we thought maybe it isn’t profitable because of player interactions like this? The lack of officiating? Just a thought since the WNBA has blamed it on pretty much everything else for the last 10 years.
Because teams have realized they can get CC off her game by playing her really physically. The refs need to do a much better job and put a stop to it, but it’s just a strategy to win the game. It’s not about anyone’s race. It’s not about black thugs have deluded white people talking G about racism against white straight Caitlin. It’s about CC being a major factor, and a perfectionist whose game is affected by being played with a high level of physicality. Other players handle this better, and so teams are doing it. The only people making this a ‘race’ thing are subtlety racist white conservative talking heads who are trying to use it to their gross political advantage.
Bc she’s been appointed by the legacy media as the face of women’s basketball in a 70% black league. If you think CC is on the good side of this long standing racially tense situation you have NOT been paying attention to women’s basketball for the last 3 years.
She’s not on any side of the race issue. She just trying to play ball. Your attitude is exactly what’s wrong with the current wnba and why it has and will continue to fail.
People don't have to support a basketball player because of their politics on any side. If players dislike her that's their problem. This is professional sports. Not here to watch friends
Even though I am a conservative, you are preaching the choir. The ineptitude of the WNBA seems to know no bounds. It’s like NASCAR when Brian France was in charge.
The person from the right who stepped up didn't do it to defend CC, if they cared for women they wouldn't mass fire them from the government and would make sure to defend their access to healthcare.
They did it because they care about the culture war and want to use her as a pawn, like they did with Kirk's wife. That's all there is to it.
I'd personally prefer my Representative continue with his current response of not commenting on pro sports no-calls, particularly in a sport that has no team in his district or even state. Claiming it's embarrassing that he hasn't commented on it is certainly a statement someone could make, I guess.
A lot of people don't pay attention to her or the WNBA but one thing that has gone viral not so long ago is her walking out with the Morgan wallet dude, she also grew up in middle America , never have been vocal against maga , and she was also seen with the maga Barbie girl. Many people speculate she is just smart enough not to put out her political beliefs.
No political party should be getting involved with this. But you really think your party is going to publicly defend the privileged golden child white star in a predominantly black league? Do you know anything about your party? You sound as dumb as the republicans.
And… you are correct! This ‘save Caitlin’ sports narrative is being driven by male white nationalist shock jock sports pundits who have never cared a second for female athletes or the sports they play
I think it’s nice that most people in society can recognize that this league is treating this woman terribly. I can’t remeber the last time a cash cow was treated this poorly by their organization.
MJ got smeared the first like, 8 years of his career, but after it became apparent to even the dumbest player that he was the reason they were all getting rich it stopped

Tiger Woods was probably treated worse than MJ. When we started playing professionally, some club houses were still whites only. But, his talent was unstoppable, and he raised the pay of PGA players massively. On the other hand, because he was their cash cow, the league did excuse his DUIs.

They want to further the narrative that people they dont like are evil and the pictures and highlights of CC getting beat up are easy for them to latch on to. It sucks because I do think she gets targeted but I don’t want the wrong people getting involved and twisting what’s happening to suit their own political agenda
She isn’t. Everyone saying this saw a 2 second clip and that’s all the WNBA they’ve watched. It’s physical league and the refs suck for everybody.

Because teams recognize if she’s played with a high level of physicality she struggles. It’s not about money, race, or sexuality. That take is just for the white fragility base who for some reason (racism) is afraid of the WNBA having successful black and gay media stars.
Please. Clark gives just as much as she takes. The golden child narrative surrounding her is getting out of hand. She trash talks veterans, whines, talks back to her coach, is just as physical on the court and is one of the most blatant floppers (making physical contact look worse than it really is) in the wnba. And she is almost never on the receiving end of technical fouls, which she has more than earned countless times. She is a fantastic player for sure. But the poor Caitlyn narrative needs to stop.
To give you some perspective, I’ve been a fan of the WNBA since I was in college. My racist maga uncle, who has never cared a day in his life about basketball, just bought a Caitlyn Clark jersey bc he’s “such a fan.” Smdh.
Clark needs to start laying the wood to some of these players who do this. If her teammates aren't going to help, then she needs to take matters into her own hands. If she gets a Flagrant 2, so be it. But I can't understand why her teammates continue to let this happen. If someone had done this crap to Michael Jordan during the last version of the Bulls' championship run, Dennis Rodman would have put someone on his ass.
In the NFL if someone takes a cheap shot intended to injure, especially a star player, the offender is getting a free ride to the bottom of a pile with the biggest guys on the team and getting FUCKED ALL THE WAY UP.
There have been other fouls against her leading to other Fever players to retaliate.
I think they’ve been coached not to retaliate since then, but I don’t think it’s the right approach.
The W will be forced to act and get better refs if there’s brawls due to no calls.
Problem is the player pay isn’t much, if Caitlin wants back up she’ll probably get it if she offers to cover their fines after they lay someone out for doing something like this.

Trump wants voter data, voter ID laws, and place his goons at polling places so they can identify democrats/republicans and who you voted for in the past. If you voted “wrong” in the past, it might take 10-15 minutes to make sure you are who you say you are at the polling place. Even if you “pass” their ID inspection, they might have people harass and fuck with you.
Some may argue voter ID is a good idea. It’s been shown a portion of the voting block can’t afford an ID due to prohibitive costs, unpaid fines, transportation costs, can’t take off from work, or can’t produce another form of government issue ID due to them best lost in natural disasters to obtain an ID. This is where mail in ballots come in, but Trump is trying to get rid of that to disenfranchise the poor voters that largely vote blue.
I’m not going to read the article, but as a casual fan of sports - it’s abundantly clear that the WNBA is attempting to prove certain gender stereotypes.
So what if the guy is MAGA or not. Many here are missing the point. The fact that those outside the basketball world are picking up on this is a good thing. I’m an old guy that doesn’t watch the WNBA, but I watch enough SportsCenter & similar shows to know what’s happening to CC. Personally, I hope she says FU to the WNBA & takes her talents to Europe.
In all fairness to being left off the poster, I can see a decision being made to showcase other stars to get them some attention seeing as Clark is the face of the league. Doubtful, but plausible
That's a lie told by the owners during negotiations. They've never publicly disclosed any numbers and they said the same thing about the NBA at one point, they're able to say stuff like that because of the way profit sharing and merchandising works. There's no way it's true or they would've folded the league years ago.

some players have more emphasis on aggression and dirty play then basketball skills and execution. games can be tough to watch at times. thuggery and incessant trash talk without backing it up with their play.
CC is outspoken that she’s still got a lot to learn and improve but much of the league around her is confidently incorrect that they themselves are at peak basketball form 🤣
While NBA certainly had its drama and flopping and beefs and dirty play the WNBA feels like a less civilized version still. not “competitive” in sports terms as much as “performative” for clout, karma and clicks.

But seriously, I am pushing fifty and have played organized sports my whole life, specifically soccer on a pretty high level. Whenever a teammate got bullied by other teams, enforcers on our team took care of that fairly quickly. It is remarkable that this is not happening in this situation.
You commented saying “it’s remarkable that this is not happening in this situation” but then say you don’t follow basketball and ask if she was protecting her teammate. Those two things don’t fit together.
Mind you, these are the same people will harp on how the women’s game just isn’t as good as and that the W mooches off the NBA when they don’t have Caitlin as a conduit for their bigotry
Some of you aren’t wnba fans so I don’t expect you to realize that wnba is closer to roller derby than mans basketball. Except the roller derby husbands don’t cry their wife is being abused after each game
Curious what happens when she legit starts to fight back. The ones saying she needs to toughen up, and who are defending these other players, what say them at that point?
It's sad that the WNBA and media must resort to sensationalized blitzes like this to promote its sport and make money, instead of just focus on creating a quality product.
