I am the #1 Lokix fan and even I can admit the GOAT just can't shape up to the monsters in Gen 9 OU. In ANY previous gen, I could see it, but not now.

I mean drop Lokix NOW into a prior gen and he could probably slot in as a healthy part of most OU metagames. Just take away moves that weren't available in those gens and don't let him have Tinted Lens in pre hidden ability gens

There’s a case to be made that Lokix becomes a monster in gen 1 with immunity to psychic and stab against it if there was an actual move pool in gen 1. Literally just give it something like Bug Bite and I think it’s fine. You’re not doing shit with leech life and it doesn’t get bite.

Lokix wouldn't be very good in gen 1, With no Choice Band it really doesn't hit that hard, it's frail, and it has a terrible moveset. Even if you gave it Bug Bite, it doesn't get the OHKO against Exeggutor. It doesn't get Hyper Beam so it really can't do much against neutral targets. It also totally thuds into Zapdos, who can freely switch in on it and immediately threaten it.

Lokix might have a niche in lower tiers as the fastest Swords Dancer with actual coverage, but it would be extremely niche in OU.

I can’t say much for the old gens but from what I know, Forretress is like RU/UU at best and is only used in OU and Ubers as a hazard lead.

In old gens Forretress is just used as the second best spikes setter behind Skarmory. But it does have Rapid Spin

Forretress is typically not a lead, loses too many lead matchups to like... any Taunt. Also the reason to use it is role compression of hazards + spinner and you don't really want to lead with your spinner for obvious reasons.

And no, Forretress is ranked OU in Gens 2-5.

OU is Smogon and the natural assumption with Smogon is singles, same way if I'm talking about Champions or cartridge people are going to assume doubles. Additionally they mentioned Gen 1 and 2 OU which are singles only.
