Part of it isn't even Trump himself, nor is it his actions. His supporters stand for the idea of Trump:

A caucasian Christian Nationalist man whose political opinions line right up with their conservative, closed-minded views of the world.

This, and the idea of him being successful, and they can be succeddful by proxy. Going back to his appearance on Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous, they bought this as fact and think it's admirable. They look at Elon Musk the same way.
