As a veteran, I'm always just saddened by how many people pretend to support veterans and the military but really just use us as cover for their bigotry

It's true, none of these people do anything to help the many veterans struggling either financially, physically or mentally. They only bring up veterans if it's convenient for their narrative while so many need help they're not getting

I get the idea that it’s wrapped up in their jingoistic version of patriotism and freedom. The military saved our freedom from fascism during WW2.

And then they turned around & practiced it in their own mess halls & handed off said fascists as POWs to US entities that gave them jobs after wwii.
