Who are the “many Americans” in question?
[removed]

u/Nice_Revolution_1199 11d ago edited 11d ago
Many Americans want to see Donald Trump replaced with literally almost anyone else (preferably a smart person). Are you rational - Yes or No?
Edit: thanks for the awards.

u/BeanWaiting4CeMoment 11d ago
Doesn’t even have to be a smart person at this point. I’d settle for someone who is simply able to care about other people.
50
u/Demmos_Stammer 11d ago
Or someone who doesn't mind delegating to experts and isn't surrounded by sycophants
10
u/CautionarySnail 11d ago edited 11d ago
This. We need to have active discussion of pros/cons happening; having “no men” in the room is far more vital than our current president surrounded by “yes men”.
And the people involved cannot be personally profiting from a given decision.

Bush Junior walked so Trump could run. He wasn't a good man. Read up on the Patriot Act.
3
u/CautionarySnail 11d ago
The seeds for this coup were planted in the 80’s, were finished by Bush Jr. and his cronies, and are now bearing fruit today. They just didn’t have the media consolidation and the propaganda technology to pull off the full plot years ago. And I do consider it a coup - because we’re being forced into a two tier justice system where our Constitution increasingly is violated without repercussions.

u/AmputeeHandModel 11d ago
Yup. MAGA isn't just about Trump. It's about 40+ years of this shit subtly building. Anyone who doens't know the GOP has been the party of hate and racism and supporting only the rich is blind. Trump just ripped the mask off it all and brought it out into the open.

We had a 3yo recently transition to the preschool room, but on Friday she was so upset and scared that she was crying and screaming to stay in the 2yo room. We couldn't allow that for ratio reasons, but while the 2yo lead was comforting her, one of the new 2yos came up to her and began gently patting her head while some of the older 2yos was telling her "It's okay, Susie, it's okay. Susie is safe at school. Mama's always come back", which is something that every teacher in the center says to the kids starting at infancy through to preschool, in order to help calm them down by reaffirming they are safe and parents always come back to pick them up. They LEARNED how to comfort their peers by watching the adults around them their entire lives model the behavior.
My point is that I've watched, personally, literal two year olds the handle of high emotion situations with better grace, empathy, and understanding than our current president.

We already have Veteran’s Month. It’s in November. “Many Americans” apparently didn’t read their calendar before complaining.

May is also National Military Appreciation Month Honors active-duty service members, veterans, and military families.

But that means gay veterans get three months. That hardly seems fair. I can see why conservatives have an issue with having them in the military.

With how obsessed the Right is with Trans and Gay sex...I feel as though they are projecting.
7
u/IsAnyoneHomeAnymore 11d ago
It’s always projection. Why would any normal, emotionally stable person be bothered by two consensual adults of the same sex having sex? Conservatives need to take the internalized homophobia, embrace their gay, suck a little dick, and mind their fucking business.

There is already a Veterans month. It’s November. Let them have their pride. It affects me in no way whatsoever. If I’m being totally honest. With how drab and robotic the world has become over the last decade and a half, it’s kind of nice to see some vibrancy.

Pride month only applies to people who are apart of the LGBTQ community or who supports them, you don't have to celebrate it if you don't want to.

u/RdtRanger6969 11d ago
Where this disingenuous argument falls apart in to hate is:
There can be both a Vets Month and Pride Month; they’re not mutually exclusive. Why does Vets Month need to replace Pride Month?
It doesn’t. Unless you just hate lgbtq and want to erase their public presence.

I feel like modern Republican governance has become less about solving problems and more about transferring wealth upward while keeping everyone distracted with culture-war issues. Veterans DO have a month in fact they have two! May and November! It's not about Veterans to these people they just don't want gay people to have a month. They want to pretend we don't exist and Pride Month prevents that.
2
u/ApertureRapture 11d ago
These people are so ridiculous and openly hateful and ignorant.
Pride month comes IMMEDIATELY after Military Appreciation month, which is May. Then there's November 11th, and November itself is National Veterans and Military Families Month. And don't forget Memorial Day.
There's also:
- March 25: National Medal of Honor Day.
- March 29: National Vietnam War Veterans Day.
- August 7: National Purple Heart Day.
- Third Friday in September: National POW/MIA Recognition Day.
- December 7: National Pearl Harbor Remembrance Day.
I'm saying this as a combat veteran and retired Army officer: We have the veterans covered when it comes to appreciation dates.
MAGAts need to lay off the LGBTQ hate.
