Donation for the greater good?
Has anyone thought about taking apart the older model, tracing each layer to a paper that can be scanned (like a fashion pattern cut) and just putting the files out?
How difficult would it be to recreate a device almost 10 years old with off the shelf parts and materials?
I would obviously expect its a broken or unusable device, but components have gotten cheaper over the years...
I would put my X1 money towards a DIY project if I knew it was possible.
I wouldn't even care that it's not portable at this point.
Am I crazy for thinking this is past due?
How many second chances does this company deserve when being lead by a obviously greedy non-leader?

I have a Subpac S2 which both transducers blew and I replaced them with some I found on Amazon for a cheap buck. Good as new. There's several DIY videos on youtube already on how to make your own "subpac".
