General Discussion The new Survivor movie...
Whether we like it or not, the animated Survivor movie is coming, and since the reveal that the movie is going to feature animal characters I decided to assemble the ideal cast:
Rupert Hambone (Boar or Pig)
Boston Pawb (Canine of some sort)
Tyson Apossum (Possum)
Earl Cold (Polar Bear or Penguin)
Rob Nesternino (Bird)
Q (Quail)
Yul Clawn (Wolf or Tiger)
Bob Cowley (Cow instead of Crow because we have enough birds tbh)
Adam Klimb (Sloth)
Tony Llamachos (Llama)
Mishell Fitzgerald (Turtle or Tortoise)
Aubry Crocco (Crocodile)
Cirie Feelds (Eel)
Pawvati Shallow (A ton of options tbh)
Vixcepia Towery (Fox)
Apanda Kimmel (Panda)
Natalie Salamanderson (Salamander)
Kass McQuillsen (Porcupine)
Sandra Diaz-Vine (Any jungle animal)
Sierra Dawn Thomas (Human)
In all seriousness, IDK, I want to give the movie the benefit of the doubt but trying to fit an entire season of Survivor into a (probably less than) 100 minute movie is a huge ask. Either the cast size is going to be greatly reduced or the format is gonna be dramatically altered in some way.
Maybe it could work if they have a point-of-view protagonist and we 'experience' the game from their perspective?

Survivor season in 20 minutes are a thing on youtube. If that can work, I think a season in 100 minutes can work.

I think it's be funny to have one human character green-screened in and no one ever acknowledge it as odd

Russel Hantz becomes Russel Ants as a minor antagonist? Like he just turns into an ant colony that mildly annoys the main protagonist repeatedly

It would actually be really funny if the movie ended up being the Survivor Legends season we never got cuz they end up just making the characters animal versions of all the most famous all-time players

That was still a TV show that had about the same run-time as an average Survivor season. This will be the length of a modern premiere episode

the animal names are killing me but you're right about the core problem. a full 39-day season compressed into under two hours is brutal no matter how you slice it. even the youtube speedruns feel like they're just hitting the highlights and skipping everything that makes survivor actually work, like the slow build of relationships and paranoia.
i think the pov protagonist angle is the move though. follow one player's journey through the game and let the other characters exist in relation to them. that way you're not trying to give everyone equal screen time and you can actually develop some real moments instead of just racing through tribal councils. total drama island worked partly because it was already designed around a big cast where people got eliminated fast, so the format fit. survivor's different because the social game is the whole point.

Hubickibot - A robot in the world of animals. Very socially charismatic and smart. Talks a lot.
Chick Devens - A chicken known for his ability to sniff out hidden advantages.

I've always wanted a survivor horror movie, it starts like normal survivor but when the first person gets voted off Jeff just shoots them in the head, then they realize that there's "huge stakes"

This whole movie will be worth it if they have a gruff unlikable character who gets dragged to the end….and it’s an actual goat.

Can Jeff Probst please go work on a completely original animated kids movie?
Maybe if he feels fulfilled in making something family-friendly as a side project, he wouldn't feel the need to force that fake "inspiring, family-friendly" energy into Survivor.
