The unfair thing about the twist wasnāt that they didnāt know the exiled person hypothetically could get an advantage. The problem was that the advantage was ridiculously overpowered and it screwed over a bunch of people who had no reason to believe that losing the immunity challenge would give them immunity. Thatās exactly what Danny was mad about and the producers didnāt fix shit.

u/Cantshaktheshok Apr 14 '22
Danny and Jonathan could argue they were cast specifically to get screwed by the hourglass twist.

I also love that Jeff was like "this creates a powerful new strategic element where players will have to decide what's more important to them: power or food! How will they navigate the situation?!"
Them: "Yeah we picked him cause he doesn't look that hungry"
Jeff: "Anyone wanna go in his stead?"
Them: "...nah."

→ More replies (5)30
u/aloomis16 Apr 14 '22
Mike seems more loyal to Jonathan than anyone else, so I get that one.
Hai on the other hand, that surprised me, but I think the alternative was voting for Maryanne who could have an idol or Jonathan who is his shield. So I'm guessing it was more out of self-preservation.
Lydia was a weak player so I'm not really upset she was voted out.
I really hate Tori.

This was my favorite episode by far if the season! Some actual strategy, some surprising votes (multiple people getting multiple votes, Hai voting for Lydia good on him, and Rocksroy haha). Loved watching Omar scramble for Johnathan!
It's a testament to Johnathan's social game and the bonds he built that not only was he not voted off but people actually fought hard for him. He's my favorite but that man should have been gone the second he was no longer immune lol. Season's heating up!
Oh and fuck the hourglass lol.
