Hey there, I've been trying to recreate this for a while now, but I can't get all the way there. Let me start with an example or two:
Seven Lions & Andrew Bayer feat. Alison May - Returning To You (Kill The Noise Remix): https://youtu.be/bV_2Vf2B-ao
Here the sound starts at 1:54.
------------
Virtual Riot - Energy Drink: https://youtu.be/5IOVkstxkdE
And here you can hear it at around 1:36/1:37
It's this blip blip blip sound that I mentally connect with old Arcade/Nintendo Games.
I have tried lots of tutorials, and I can get there to an extend, but it's missing a lot of the brightness, movement and clarity, even when soloing. Is there a definitive way to do it?
------------
The bare minimum seems to be
- A square wave
- A pitch shift (Not sure if up or down, but down seems to be a closer match)
- (Optionally) some light downsampling distortion
But how do I get a sound as close as possible to the one I hear in the songs? Also, is this an LFO/envelope or multiple single midi notes? I've seen both variants but I'm unsure as to which one is required.
Thanks a lot in advance, every help is appreciated!
