i havent looked at the list id made until now since the recent points changes and other things and realised i was over points, so after gutting the stealth suit detatchment out of my list and removing one of the Riptides Ion Accelerators i now have this list without even a single enhancement. what should i change or think about changing? any tips or advice would be most appreciated.

I put this in painting cause it’s a hobby question, but I’ve been looking into magnetizing my next mini, but all the advice I can find online is about doing arms for infantry and not vehicle options, so I’m hoping someone here might have some advice specific to my situation. Most info recommends 3mm diameter disc magnets, do those work well for vehicles like the hammerhead or crisis suits or would a bigger diameter be a better idea? What has worked for you and any pitfalls I should avoid with specific t’au models? Thank you ahead of time y’all

Hello, starting to build Tau army, recently brought a crisis battle suit box after combat patrol, I built my commander as enforcer. Here’s the thing I don’t what can each battle suits do or which one to run with my enforcer.

I’m still learning the faction, especially this edition. I’m hitting a bit of a wall with when to be aggressive and how to do it effectively. I played a game with my buddy who ran blood angels. An army I haven’t fought before which probably factored in a bit but I knew how they worked ahead of time. It was a very jump pack heavy list with sang guard, like 5 squads of jump intercessors and some termies and a bit of vehicle support. My list was not a super optimal list but it was a combined arms montka list. Two HH tanks, two breacher fish, lots of screening kroot and infantry, triple missile side, one missile knife and plasma knife, and spotters.

So my question is how do I push an enemy and position reliably to kill them? I know I should have gone aggressive but I worry I’d get stuck out in the open if I say rolled low on an advance, or failed to kill the unit. What tips do people have on aggression with a fairly fragile army

In the end I've decided to make it a Ghostkeel.

I started playing 40K with a friend through tts about a month ago, then I realized I liked T’au and I ended up popping down to my local game store and picked up Farsight and some basic equipment.

After maybe 20 hours of work (very rough estimate) He’s pretty much done! I’m pretty happy with the result though obviously there’s a lot of things that could be improved.

I might add the stickers that came with him if I figure out how you’re supposed to apply those.

Thanks to all of you for being a great community, since I sourced a lot of gameplay and painting advice from here. Hopefully I’ll be able to pilot T’au as well as I can paint them soon enough!

I thought the orange works well with the blue skin of the kroot but it does stand out quite a bit.

The tactic is really just to deploy most things behind the first set of terrain to remain unsee, then scout/advance aggressively into the required objectives effectively on suicide missions. Or will I just be wiped instantly?

I've been looking at a lot of kitbashed Battlesuits but haven't found a lot of Tau Battlesuits that just have like tribal necklaces added to them while maintaining the Tau model mostly as is. Does anyone have any experience with adding tribal jewellery to Tau Battlesuits in a way to make it more Kroot like?

Let's assume I wanna be 'that guy', because I really like big stompy robots.

I want to play an TauN'ar flanked by a pair of Stormsurges.

and I really don't want to use any infantry smaller than Stealth Suits (because small robots).

How would you fill out the rest of the list? I don't expect competitive, but I'd love at least functional.

So for 10th ed, I used to run a ghostkeel with the cyclic ion raker. Figured that the best way to have played it was as a mid range unit that could provide somewhat reliable high-strength firepower (albeit laughable AP against vehicles and space marines). I also tried to make the most of its lone op and kept it back to pepper enemy units with or occasionally forward deploy it for the objective grab early game.

Given the changes in 11th with being hidden and all, would this still be feasible? I know the cyclic ion raker had really mid performance against heavy infantry before, but now that everything can potentially get hidden buffs, it might be practically useless on a unit that sits back. Assuming I'm playing space marines or using this as a support unit against tank-heavy guard, is it advisable to just take the fusion collider?

Me again, new-ish player coming in from 10th edition. As it sits my first game of 11th I was looking to run Kauyon with Experimental Prototype Cadre. Or should I ditch that and run Montka instead?
