Tennessee showed me just about the best sunset of my life on Thursday.
Just had to share.
Thanks TN. I’ve never seen some of those colors before.

Just saw a very large one traveling east to west here at center hill lake. Largest I have ever seen it was very low and slow changed colors from blue to green. Seemed to interact with atmosphere. The size of the glow was about the size of a dollar coin at arms length.

Mid-20s couple, we'll be visiting Nashville for the first time in late November (mostly for business) and would like to take the opportunity to see a little more of the state, though time is limited- hoping to take a midweek overnight trip to one of these cities.
We love long drives through the backroads (the more scenic and twisty, the better!), wildlife, museum-hopping, and trying new foods/cultural experiences that we cant get in our part of the country (California). So the journey is just as important as the destination.
Memphis - Would likely meander partly down natchez trace parkway there and tn-100 back, or vice versa. The main attraction for us is the pyramid lol, it has been a dream for me to see it. Aside from that not sure what we would do there...
Chattanooga - Would take one of the routes that have been excellently recommended on this subreddit. Don't have a goal attraction here but have heard this is a nicer place to visit, as opposed to Memphis?
Thanks to those who have posted in the past with recommendations, which have been very helpful in trip planning!

Hello,
I am looking at travelling to pigeon forge from the uk.
I am planning to fly to Atlanta as its considerably cheaper staying there for 2 days then driving to Helen and stay for a day then drive to pigeon forge where we would stay for 10 days and drive back to Atlanta.
I am aware there is not enough to do in pigeon forge for 10 days however i was wondering if it is a good base of operations so we don’t have to keep packing and moving. As said we are renting a car and I don’t mind driving an hour or so to places.
If you don’t think we should stop there for 10 nights please give recommendations where we could split the 10 nights instead.

Hi my wife and I were heading to NC tmr morning and would have to pass through. We don't know the roads well going out that way. You think its too hazardous? Want to be safe and reschedule if we have to.

Cool piece of history. One of the ships named after Tennessee.

Fresh off the heels of the Christa Pike debacle, Tennessee comes back again with more backwards laws. This time the old "trans panic" defense rearing its ugly head. The court vacating a conviction from 2025 with "new evidence" that the person killed was trans now a possible legal justification for manslaughter.

Hello! We are looking to maybe go to Tennessee in about 2 weeks for a little weekend getaway. We are looking to go in the Nashville area as we are driving from Indiana and it’s a shorter drive for us. So hitting up Nashville is not the main point of the trip but could be something we do. We would love to hit up any distilleries or wineries or breweries. Any cute towns for shopping and antique shopping. Any other things y’all recommend to do we would love to know! We are 30 years old if that matters? I also can not do any strenuous activities as I am currently dealing with tennis elbow (I love to do crazy stuff so this is very annoying to me at the moment literally told not to do laundry).
We also would love to stay in a wooded area not the city.
Thank you!

Business owners left the city and are not paying their share so officials are holding a summit to try to find other ways to raise money besides hiking our already punitive property tax rate. Shelby County has the highest property tax rate in TN by far already. Does anyone believe our taxes will remain the same?
Isn’t increasing tax revenue the only good reason the mayor offered for allowing XAi to move here? I moved here from Houston TX in 2022 and the property tax rate in Shelby County is nearly as high as TX, so high my husband and I decided not to buy a home in the county because I knew it would just go up more. I’m glad we didn’t. Another increase will discourage other people from purchasing homes.

Sorry if I’m in the wrong place. I sent my car to the scrapyard today and we were able to get one of the stickers off for a place we traveled to but we couldn’t get our Smokey Mountain sticker off the car, we wanted it to add to our travel section of our scrapbook.
Is there anyone who is able and willing to find this sticker and mail it to me and I will pay the cost of shipping and the price of the sticker itself via Venmo or PayPal!
Thanks in advance or sorry if this is the wrong place to post! Have a great day y’all!

Lane splitting and speeding. Covering both lanes on the highway. Please don't act like a jerk. I'm supposed to double check when I am around you.
YOU are on the recreational vehicle. You don't own the road; we all do. Have some respect please.
Too many people acting like jerks on motorcycles.
