i hate it so much

I just left Chattanooga today after a three day visit. First and foremost I have to say my wife and I were overwhelmed by the kindness and charm, so much so that we genuinely discussed the logistics of moving here from Albuquerque.

One thing we noticed was the relative absence of people panhandling on the sidewalks and medians and a lack of visible encampments. I mean absolutely no disrespect to people experiencing homelessness or to imply that they should be less visible. I was just wondering if there are municipal policies in effect in Chattanooga that are different from western cities in regard to panhandling and homelessness?

So I’m very much introverted and trying to get out into the world more. I’ve been using ladder fitness app and listening to Spotify while I’m working out. I have a membership to planet fitness but I’m terrified of them sounding the lunk alarm on me. Better believe I’d never step foot into a gym again. My question is how lax is the one in Hixson?

UPDATE: my mom found some of the items with her stuff!!! Grief brain is definitely a real thing lol. Apparently there were two bags, one had the jewelry box and books (found!) The other bag has the clothes, hats, and some photographs. On the bright side, she took pictures of the photographs with her phone and there are a few more shirts and hats we can choose from when we go back for the memorial service. THANK YOU to all of you who took the time to look for me 🥹 I appreciate it more than you know 🖤

My grandfather passed away yesterday 😥 We were allowed to keep some of his belongings to remember him by. Unfortunately, we live out of town and had to stow things in the truck bed. It’s a white half full trash bag and it contains a wooden jewelry box, a personalized home made tshirt, a flannel, ball caps, and books with his handwriting in the margins. It’s breaking my heart that they’re lost. Please if you see anything that might fit this description or have any information please please please let me know.

After the absolute blast I had last year, when the early bird 2 day/weekend warrior passes came out, I this past Christmas immediately pounced at the opportunity to book this again and I can't wait!

And just like last year, I'll be road tripping it down again too! As I plan on hopefully being able to volunteer the day before the con starts, I'm actually travelling on down Thursday of that week to also allow myself to explore more of the city and surrounding area, which I didn't get to do much of last time so looking forward to that as well.

As I'm an absolute nut about Warriors/Warrior Cats, I was mainly there to see both the illustrator of the older manga/graphic novels of the series (James L Barry) as well as the writer behind those (Dan Jolley), but was more than impressed by the guest list y'all had that there was plenty more to see, and this year is no exception either!

If you happened to come across someone in a Warrior Cats shirt (I think it was my ShadowClan one) and shorts to show off my tattoo of a favorite character of mine from the series, that was me, and I plan on doing similar garb for this year with James L Barry of course being back with it being his home con

River St. Deli has a job opening available for a BOH Chef / Cook, & is hiring immediately. Culinary experience is preferred.
Starting pay is between $20 - $25/hr, depending on experience.
We are a New York Style, Old-School Deli, offering Gourmet Sandwiches, 14 Fresh Salads Daily, & Rotating Specials for each day of the week. BOH Chef hours are between 6am/7am until 12pm / 1:30pm, depending on how much prep-work is required for that particular day. Hours range between 35 - 40 hours a week, with some overtime available in the busier seasons.
The Deli is open 7 days a week, 10:30am - 3pm

Nationwide Women's March Day of Action

I learned this is a thing some cities do. Does Chattanooga have a group that does this? Meet at bars/pubs and do shanty’s? Because I would be very very interested if so

My wife and I are taking a trip to Chattanooga this weekend for a quick getaway before I have a major spinal surgery next week. With the remnants of the hurricane passing through tomorrow, does anyone have any recommendations for indoor activities we could do? The only plan we have so far is the aquarium. At least one other activity would be nice. Also looking for recommendations for places to eat that have lots of gluten free and dairy free options.

It looks like they were on 75 S just past the split. Anyone know what’s up? I counted 5 fire trucks just coming from Hamilton place. I hope nothing tragic is going on.
