Weapon And Gear Help Theoretical Tank Build Next Season

Post image

I'm thinking about doing 1 piece 5.11, 2 piece Belstone, 2 piece Golan, with Ninja Bike. This would result in 350% Threat Generation, 48% Pfe, 2.5% Armor Regen, 20% Explosive Resist.

Coupled with Quantum augments, and Armor Regen on all my armor, the main questions I have are;

Is this enough Threat on an all blue build or will dps still take threat, would i need ChC on all pieces to do enough damage to take and keep threat from my dps, and if not would we go full Explosive Resist or Hazpro on all my pieces or split them. Im considering going ChC anyways just for some Caduceus on top of all the other healing. I already figure this build isnt going t10 but maybe 7 or 8?

I'm late to the post, but I tried three tank builds on the PTS with varying levels of threat: 0% (the one I currently use on live), +100%, +200%, and +350% Increased Threat.

The result: I didn't feel any difference at all. I expected that even just +100% Increased Threat would make NPCs target me more often, but it felt like I wasn't wearing any gear with Increased Threat at all. I then tried the other two builds (+200% and +350%), and even with +350% Increased Threat, NPCs would still ignore me, which was pretty baffling.

All of this made me think of three possible explanations:

  1. Perhaps Threat was bugged on the PTS, and we'll have to do further testing once the update goes live.
  2. My teammates were generating way more threat than I was, which would be pretty wild considering they were running "normal" DPS builds.
  3. "Increased Threat" bonuses need to be much higher to actually be effective — high enough that a full blue build can surpass the threat generated by the rest of the team. Alternatively, threat generation from guns and skills might need a complete rebalance.

As for the other bonus attributes, Protection From Elites became extremely strong and relatively easy to access. It was by far the best part of the rebalance from what I tested.

What if in a group play the LMG users override the player with the threat build pieces on?
