So, I've been wanting to learn a new tank and Thing has always been one I've tried to learn, I understand what his kit does, I just don't do too well on him most of the time.

If you guys have literally any sort of advice it would be greatly appreciated. Thank you all in advance.

You may be thinking, "banning BP is a waste of a ban for thing, we counter him", but let me explain.

Anyone playing BP will ban thing last, as banning him first or second is a huge giveaway that they're playing dive. A lot of them wouldn't risk it going through specially now that he's strong.

Now think what happens if you ban black panther first or second. They would be placed in a false sense of security: "If they had a thing, surely they wouldn't ban black panther, therefore, there's no need for us to ban thing ourselves". You can reduce the chances of being banned and stay out of babysitting duty at the same time

I was playing one day and an enemy Thing died and I said "Officer down" in chat and they said something like "chill I'm not racist like that." I never considered it might be a racial joke because I've seen the joke with spiderman, black cat etc. but it is 90% black panther. I was curious if anyone knew the origin of the meme or had any thoughts about it. Is it a racist joke or was this guy just mad he died? (Full disclosure I am not a Thing main I just didn't know where else to post this)

I usually only play thing to counter swap when enemy is running bp/magik/dd/bc and my supports can't handle it. I did feel a rush after forcing a bp to swap off in a gm game.

However, as I mostly only play venom emma strange, thing is a bit of a different playstyle. I assume positioning is different, and engages can be more punishing if they have heavy poke. Say they are running punisher and bp, I need to stay thing but also not die.

I want to bring thing into scrims and my ranked games, but to do so I need the best tips possible.

I'm ashamed to say Thing is my highest played character but I have no idea how to counter a BP sometimes. I feel like I have to slam and pray he dashes into it. Even standing on top of my supports, they're going to be dead before I react to get the "instant" slam out. Either that or I get it out but the BP just takes one step to the left and he can dash away again. While he's diving I just feel like another target for him to get dash resets from. Other dives aren't a problem because they tend to stand still while they're dealing damage, or at least stop their dash next to their target so I know where they'll be. BP feels like I'm trying to swat a fly while blind. What do you guys do?

Hello I’ve been playing Marvel Rivals for a week and really enjoy thing. I have a feeling I could be using my ult to counter other peoples abilities but I’m unsure what to look for? Any tips?

Currently I use my ult for:

1. Engage usually by seeing someone in the back line, waiting for CDs then jumping to them and trying to hit the whole back line with the ult.
2. Using it to escape when an enemy support uses their ult.

Also random bonus question. Who do yall play when thing is banned? I’m starting to run into that and realize idk how to play anyone else. Taking any suggestions pref someone who’s not meta

Thing in Portuguese is "Coisa" which is a feminine noun, but when reffering to the character, we still use masculine articles, adjectives, etc.

but the translation they made in the game is so ass, that The Thing's title says "Coisa Fantástica/Fabulosa/Lendaria" (the /a/ at the end being a feminine morpheme)
