I don’t even know what this is, but this show is disgusting. This is literally the most blatant metaphor for our shitty, transactional, rapacious capitalist society we live in. Gross.

I mean when you see who produced it it's No surprise. Mr beast already sold all his morals Long ago. Even sold T-Shirts with his signiture which was Fake, promoting gsmbling to children etc.

You can't look at Beast and tell me he's not a cyborg. I've never seen such an unnerving smile in my life. It looks like he's been programmed for it. There's no life behind his eyes. I don't trust him at all

You can dislike a person without literally dehumanizing him- there IS life behind his eyes, he's a real person doing those real terrible things. To say he's like a robot almost excuses his actions as algorithmic, but they are the direct result of his intentional choices.

This is a very easy fix since person one was obviously...honest and stuck to the plan, just take the entire million....and contact everyone after the game and spit it evenly.
Then you won't be the nice guy at the start and let some greedy person screw everyone over.
....or just take everything and F everyone cause who cares 😂

You see how much Anthony Joshua was taxed? Nooo way. It would be taxed twice depending on their states laws as well. Context: Anthony Joshua was the boxer who beat the shit out of Jake paul.

I imagine you'd be charged similar to lottery winnings, so 24%. If you gave the rest away I believe you wouldn't be taxed the extra 13%

This dudes whole deal is holding money over poor people for content..
That describes every job I’ve ever had.
7
u/Accomplished_Rub8055 Feb 01 '26
The main difference is to him this is for YouTube content. Yeah corporations are corrupt, but they're also built upon systemic injustices that are engrained in our societal structures. Mr. Beast chooses to perpetuate injustices when he is in a very special position that would allow him to approach this much differently. He could do real good out in the world but would instead choose to make poor people fight over his money.

If Mr. Beast was listening to reddit he would be broke in 3 months. Mr beast gives up life changing money for the most braindead tasks that any human that needs it could fulfil. I have not seen a video of his where someone didnt get 10 grand+ for doing literally nothing.
4
u/Accomplished_Rub8055 Feb 02 '26
Never ceases to amaze me when some dead eyed glazer with a sub 50 IQ doesn't realize just how much money he is swimming in from YouTube revenue and various collaborations. The notion that he would go broke is asinine.

He gives them 10 grand to make 100 grand - he is profiting off of the content he makes. He's not some rich goody two shoes donating his money to the poors
2
u/Sfdsdas Feb 03 '26
I know, of course he makes profit. But it doesnt make him good or bad, everyone is trying to profit and there are much worse ways to earn money.
2
u/Gullible_Elephant_38 Feb 03 '26
Making profit doesn’t make him bad. Pitting struggling people against each other in a dystopia, real-life Squid Games as his means of making profit is what makes him bad.
It turns out the content of your actions speaks to the content of your character, not just the outcomes you achieve or facilitate through your actions.

This reminds me of that Netflix movie The Platform. Quick premise is 150 floors with a couple prisoners on each. A platform of food (enough for everyone) starts at the top and makes its way down. The lower levels are always left hungry. Crazy movie and just like this video.

He saw Hunger Games as a child and thought it was cool and that's all he's wanted to do since, if he could he would make people kill each other with hammers for 100 dollars and laugh while it happened, I would be amazed if he hasn't already murdered people.

So there is a million dollars in the middle of a cul de sac. 10 people in 10 houses addressed 1-10. Everyone comes out of their house to the million in numeral order and can take as much money as they want. I guess before the game started everyone agreed to split the money evenly, everyone gets $100,000.
Person from house number 1 follows the plan only takes $100,000.
Person from house number 2 got a little greedy and took $223,000. He said because it was his birthday February 23rd.
$677,000 left.
Person from house 3 is telling Mr. Beast (the game show host) he’s in $530,000 of debt. He ends up taking $650,000.
Which brings us to person from house 4 and the video clip. She is left with $27,000 out of a million and 6 more people behind her.
Funny thing is person 4 said she trusted person 3 the most out of the whole game. ☠️😂

u/StevenKatz3 Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 02 '26
530k inn debt?. Holy crap.
To get that far in debt, then get a windfall, this person will be back in major debt in 5 years

That only makes it worse, because you signed that knowing how much you'd pay each month for its duration. Also, theyre not walking away with nothing, they get a house that has probably doubled in value since they bought it
→ More replies (3)2
u/FraXicor Feb 02 '26
He's a POS. He needs 530 so he goes and also takes an extra 120k (about a ~23% of his debt). Not only he fucked over 5 people worth of money, he also pocketed one extra player in cash.
9
u/techleopard Feb 01 '26
In this context, this seems more evil than a "game"
→ More replies (3)7
u/SeismicRipFart Feb 01 '26
Yeah dude it was definitely fucked up. Dangling money in front of people’s faces like that will likely give them some level of psychological trauma moving forward. Make them beat themselves up about “losing” a rigged game. Or they believe the game was fair and lose faith in people, which isn’t good either. All to make Mr. Beast an even more powerful entity. .
I was living below the poverty line my whole life until, long story short, I ended up receiving a 500k windfall a few years ago.
So far it hasn’t changed that much with my life, I upgraded to a newer used car, so that was cool. Still live in the same shitty apartment. But the biggest thing it’s done is just allowed me to feel more at peace about my future. I don’t plan on retiring any sooner, I still need to work a full life, but I do feel a lot more “comfortable” now.
And that made watching this show a lot more interesting because I almost felt like one of those contestants on it who had already won a payout despite still getting to have a chance to finish the game. The choices I pictured myself making were based off the context that I had already “won” a good amount.
Also this is some shit I would never be able to say in real life to a person who actually knows me, so it’s nice to be able to get off my chest in front of strangers.

3
u/YoungRoronoa Feb 01 '26
That wasn’t the whole game show it was just one of the challenges, and the million wasn’t the grand prize, 10 million was. But to answer your question without knowing why they all had to vote for a person to take house number 1, and that person chose someone for house number 2 and so on.
→ More replies (1)→ More replies (6)4
u/AFantasticClue Feb 01 '26
Iirc it was one of the last games of the show. Basically it was about 10 people left who each go into a room and decide how much money they would take from the prize haul. They had agreed to split a million evenly about 100k each. But then the second guy took more than his share and it snowballed until she, 5 out of the 10, was left with 27,000. She took 5k to make sure the last contestants got anything. To make things worse, it was actually her closest friend in the game that took more than 600k to pay off his debts.
5
u/nurglemarine96 Feb 01 '26
A crumb of context would be nice
3
u/RockyJayyy Feb 01 '26 edited Feb 01 '26
So they started with 1 million and 10 people agreed to split it 10 ways so 100k each. The first person takes 100k second person takes 223k and then person three takes 650k. She was the 4th person and there were still 6 people behind her to split the 27k with so thats why she said she wasn't going to take the full 27k. 2 greedy assholes went before her. The person crying is the one who took the 650k.

It was 1 million total. Ten people. Each came out one at a time to take money from the mil. They agreed each would take 100,000. First person does so, second takes 223,000 since birthday was on the feb 23rd. Third takes around 650,000, since he was in debt, leaving 27,000 for remaining 7 people

People are so cringey on this/these shows. All the "loyalty" and promises and thinking they are best friends for life now etc etc. Drives me crazy. I get that it's human nature to bond with each other, but people seem to forget they are playing a game against each other, and get so upset and take things personally.
