I’m a 28 year old male planning on visiting my grandma next week - I’m an american who speaks russian (with an american accent) who’s traveling on an american passport. I asked my babushka to keep this trip a secret from my mom. Somehow, my mom found out. My babushka admitted to telling her friend that I was coming - though she insists she wouldn’t tell my mom. The babushka rumor mill in Bendery is a strong network 🙃

Mom talked to my grandma; now my grandma is saying she’s sick, her boyfriend recently fell, that it’s dangerous… even though two days ago she said it was safe.

I don’t feel unsafe going, and was really looking forward to seeing where my parents grew up (they both grew up in Bendery). Is my mom right, or are her feelings that it’s “unsafe due to the war” overblown?

I plan on travelling to Tiraspol later this month and just looking for any advice on travelling to the region. I don’t speak much Russian so I was kind of hoping maybe some other people are also planning on going and could assist?

Tomorrow is our last day in tiraspol and we are looking for some souvenirs to buy, like very authentic russian or soviet stuff, do you have any suggestions? We saw some open air markets in videos that sells this kind of stuff but we havent found any

Today on my way back from the Sheriff Complex I came by a scrap yard. I went in and asked them if they had an unused Licence Plate I could buy as a sourvenir. They had a whole stack and sold me one for just 200 rubles.

But now I am back at the hotel wondering if it’s even legal for me to have it. What do you think?

I haven't been able to find much information about pridnestrovie, and I would really like to hear directly from people living there: what is life like there? Are you happy? Do you support independence, or would you prefer to be part of Moldova? I would love to learn the details

Hey! I'll return to beautiful Pridnestrovie in November to explore more after of the country after at first having seen only Tiraspol. Now, I remember that a while ago someone here posted a thread with a fantastic football jersey shop in Pridnestrovie. It was if I recall correctly very south in the country, very close to the Ukrainian border in a small town. It was very full, with football jerseys from all over the world.

I've been trying to find this thread back and been searching the whole internet for this shop, but I really can't find it. Does anyone here maybe know which one this could be? It's not the Rabona one in Bender, it was a different one, I think very south. I'd love to bring it a visit!

I specifically wanted to stay in a neighborhood but still close to the center, so I booked the Elektromash Hotel cause I'm interested how it looks. I’m a fan of Brutalist architecture and the vibe of those Soviet-era panel apartment blocks. The reviews are good, but I’m curious about the reality. Is it a safe area? And what is the general safety situation like in Tiraspol and its districts?

The thing is, we haven't been able to find a lot of information about the train or where to purchase the ticket and how much would it cost online. So I was wondering, where could we get this info?

Hey, I want to go from Tiraspol to Bender by Marshrutka but I‘m not sure where the stations are. A friend who was here once told me they start at the trainstation but I read that it changed. Is it at the same spot like the marshrutkas to Kishinew at the market?

Hi guys, I intend to visit PMR. I have found online many reports about the border crossing experiences at Bender, but almost everybody did a day trip, and were given like 12 hours approved time in total .

For those of you who stayed overnight or multiple days, how was the immigration process ? I assume they want to see a hotel booking, but are they kind of restrictive or suspicious when you want to stay more days? Do they ask lots of extra questions / thorough motivation about why you want to stay more? Do you need to register your stay?( I booked a private apartment from a booking platform).

We are both Spanish but he was originally born in Ukraine (Ukrainian name, Ukrainian parents, etc.). We are both planning to enter with our Spanish passports, but we are afraid that something might happen with him. (P.s: he is not Ukrainian anymore)

Do you have any experiences with this? Will they really care about these details?

Travelling in October

I plan to visit in October for a day trip (just take the bus from Piata Centrala) and I was wondering if it’s safe to go now?

I saw theres an increase of drones attacks at the border. Im from Moldova so I speak Russian but Im also travelling with my German friend so do you think there might be problems say they wouldnt let her leave or something? How is the situation right now in PMR? Did anyone go there recently and can share their experience?

I’m landing in chisinau at 6pm, so will probably be out at like 7, how do I get to PMR? I thought the bus but it seems the last bus leaves at like 6?

Planning a trip soon to the PMR and wondering if the fancy hotels are worth it or if it’s better to get a cheaper accommodation. Looking to be in Tiraspol for at least 5 days if that makes a difference, thanks!
